I like that these are lightweight and repel water. I work in a greenhouse and it will be handy to start the day in long pants and convert to shorts when the day gets warmer.

when traveling its advantageous to pack as light as possible, but still meet your wardrobe needs. Since these easily go from slacks to shorts, and have great pockets, and are comfortable they make a nice addition to vacation attire.

Since I'm a petite, wide gal, I always have to size up with Columbia. Width is okay, but the length is always a problem. Nice pants, but short inseam is still a little long. Luckily I can cinch the bottom a bit so it stays up. It's hard to find decent petite short convertible pants, but this will do for now.

Great functional convertible pants Easy to zip off lower leg. Good pockets Read other reviews saying they ran small so I went one size up. They did run small so I was glad i did

Seems like it would be a great hiking pant, but runs at least one size too small. I usually wear a size 2 in other brands, but these fit like a size 0. I could button them but wouldn't be comfortable hiking in them. The butt was too small and the thighs are pretty tight. I'm 5'6" and weigh 119 lbs. The convertible pants are sold out so I ordered the non convertible pant (Saturday Trail Pant) in a size 4. Still waiting for those to arrive in the mail, so not certain how those fit yet. In summary, they seem like they'd be a great, durable pant. They just run small.

I ordered brown b as that was what was available in my size. Not a usual color for me, but I like it very much. H they run a bit shorter in the crotch for me, not enough to be a problem. Otherwise the fit is great. Love them.

I had one of these previous but lost a lot of weight so now they were too big. Bought 2 more in a smaller size because I loved the pants. They are lightweight and dual function. I wanted them for my packbacking trip through Europe this summer. My only gripe is the fabric snags easily.

I know the instructions said to use a cool iron, but what does that mean anyway, since an iron without any heat doesn't accomplish any wrinkle removal and that's the only issue I have with these pants. Before I ever wore them, I burned them with my iron. Waaa. Be very careful. I suggest never ironing them. They wrinkle easily, so you have to work with the dryer to remove wrinkles.

Love these pants and purchased them in three colors (tan, gray, and nocturnal). I especially like because they have petite sizes. I am five feet tall and 103 pounds - I wear a size 2 short. They are a slim fit and I do not have to shorten which is a big selling point for me. Note: the dark nocturnal color is actually navy blue but in the picture looks like a dark gray.

I bought these to wear on our upcoming overseas trip because the weather will be cooler in the morning and warmer in the afternoon. So convertible pants are a great options. I love these pants except for one thing. The thigh is tighter than their normal pants. Normally I wear a size 6 and I ended up getting a size 8 in these just for a little extra thigh room.

Purchased for an upcoming vacation. I had to reorder a size up as they fit a lot too tight around the knee/zipper

The style is great. Fit needs improvement. I had to go up 2 sizes from my normal size. I'm normally a size 2 purchased a 4 based on reviews, but ended up with a size 6 because the zipper at leg does not stretch. The look is still flattering sizing up. I would have preferred short length but no longer available in my color option; however, the pull cord at the hem makes it doable.

These pants are comfortable except where the zipper is located to convert the pants to shorts. For some odd reason, the zipper is snug/tight when sitting. Other than that, I love the fabric and fit. These fit far better than another, older pair of convertible hiking pants (made by Columbia) and is light weight, which is what I wanted.

I am very pleased with the Saturday Trail II convertible hiking pants. I've had a chance to do some hiking in them and they were great. The fabric is light but sturdy and the stretch makes them very comfortable. I like the cinchable elastic drawstring at the ankles. I also like the length of the shorts when the leg bottoms are removed. Other brands I've tried are either too short or too long. The leg zippers work well and are not too stiff and uncomfortable when hiking. Also, the "pond" color is a nice alternative to the usual khaki. The only negatives are: 1) The legs could be a bit wider to facilitate removing the bottoms over hiking boots (I can remove them without having to take off my shoes but it is a stretch.) and 2) The snaps at the waist are VERY difficult to pull apart. I'm hoping they will loosen up over time.

I needed a pair of pants for hiking and these did the job! They are comfortable and allow plenty of freedom when doing difficult trails. Pockets aren't as functionals as men's pair where its floppy and can actually hold stuff. If you put something bulky in these pants, they are basically bulging out since these are pretty form fitting.

Love the pants but they do run small so I recommend ordering a size up from your regular size. They can be tight around the thigh where the zipper is so if you have muscular thighs I might even order 2 sizes up.

I have other Columbia hiking pants size 4 so I ordered size 4 but this style runs a little large. I returned it and ordered a size 2 which I decided to keep but it is definitely on the tighter side.

These Columbia Saturday Trail II Convertible Pants are a good value. I am 5'9", have a 34" inseam with 43" hips. I normally wear a 14 but I ordered the long inseam in size 16 so I can add leggings under them for cooler weather. These run a bit small, so when you look at the size chart you may want to size up if you want a more relaxed fit. According to the size chart a 14 should have fit me, but based on the 16 I purchased, I’m pretty sure the 14 would have been too tight. These pants fit everywhere except the waist, which is too large, but there are belt loops so I can work with it. The material is great and I like the zip off legs. I did not find the zipper on the legs to be a problem. When you sit they do ride up as all pants do, but it wasn't so tight at the leg zipper that it bothered me. However, another inch of width where the leg zipper is would be an improvement. I also like that you can cinch the bottom of the legs down at the ankle. Overall it was a good purchase and I am happy with these pants. Now if we can just get more of these outdoor gear manufacturers to produce tall and large sizes in clothing and in shoes for women! Thanks Columbia for making these, and thanks Zappos for stocking them!

I have purchased several pants from Columbia. These are really versatile and I can wear them in any weather. I purchase the long sized because I'm tall and these give me the perfect length.

These are great hiking and camping pants. Everything seems to be snug these days, which is the style. I swim in a large so there is no way I can wear an L, and the M is always a little tight. Again, tight is the style these days. Overall I like them.

Beautiful pants but they run small. I normally wear between a 4 and 6, ordered the 6 based on others comments and they were too small. They are nice looking, with slim looking legs - not your typical hiking pant. I didn’t have time to try the 8 before we headed out on our trip so ended up with the White Sierra hiking pants which are a more baggy fit/look but worked perfectly.

If you need zip off expedition pants these are good ones. They aren’t too baggy like most of this kind of pants so aren’t too dorky. You can feel the zip off part on your leg which some people won’t like but hey, they are zip off pants!

Great all around pant. Little tight where the leg part zips off.
