I've wanted to reorder these pants for some time. A previous reviewer shared that the pants, once manufactured in Vietnam were now made in India and did not fit as those made in Vietnam. I declined to order at the that time. Recently, I spoke with Columbia agents who assured me that although the pants were manufactured in both India and Vietnam, all Saturday pants currently in stock were made in Vietnam. The Vietnamese product did fit as I hoped. Be aware that Columbia contracts with different sources and that sizing is not reliable. Contact Columbia agents who are helpful in answering questions.

I am a pretty solid size 6 in most brands. I read the reviews and the fit predictor said that a size 8 would be a good size. So I sized up to the 8. I got them in the mail today and was disappointed to find that even the 8's are very snug around my stomach And the zippers around the thighs dig in and are very tight. I would like to add that my legs are pretty average, not large or muscular. Can I get them on? Yes. Would I want to hike in these? No. I am returning for a size 10 hopefully they fit.
I will say that I was very impressed with the fabric and construction of the pants. They have a hidden drawstring around the ankles to cinch the pant leg if desired. I am looking forward to getting a pair that fit because I can definitely see myself wearing these hiking Spring through summer and into the fall!

These pants are a very good quality but run small. I would buy a size up.

There is a extra tie at the waist which allows you to adjust the fit-- very nice. However, the zip off area above the knee is rather tight and inflexible (and I have fairly slender legs). I kept one pair as I didn't notice it as much with continued activity, but was a bother when I sit down.

I am 5'4", 125lbs, ordered size 6, it's a little loose on the waist but would like to have a little more room on the thigh area where the zippers are, especially when I am bending to sit or squat. Otherwise very happy with the purchase, good value compared to other brands.

I bought these for hiking/Disc Golf in Florida. They worked well with the exception that the convertible zipper digs into your thighs when sitting. I can feel it a little when standing, but not enough to bother me. Read this in other reviews but thought I would still give them a try. I wore them so I did not return them. I will continue to use them for standing up type of activities. I would never wear these for kayaking. These are straight leg pants which look good and give more of a slimmer look, but you are giving up functionality for a look.

- They fit small, I wear a size 2 in pants normally, bought a size 6
- zipper above knee is a little on the tighter side than I hoped, you feel it when sitting and the pants ride up a little.
- length is perfect
- bought them given the lack of alternative.

This is the 2nd pair I purchased, because these convertible pants are better fitting and more comfortable than any other pair I've had. They're also very easy to zip off & are perfect for hiking.

I had this in a size up but lost weight. I average a size 8 but got these in a 10 since I know they run smaller than jeans. The fit is great and very comfortable. A few reviewers said they were tight in the legs, but I didn't find that to be the case - maybe just a tad at the zipper.

Pants fit good and feel great, they just run a bit smaller in waist than some of my others from Columbia

Loved the quality of the pants. The size was perfect for me. I had one issue with them and am sending them back for this reason. The area in the leg where you zipper them off to become shorts is fine if you are standing, but if you sit it becomes constrictive. I noticed another reviewer said the same thing. I decided to order the anyways. I am sorry they didn't work, because they were exactly what I wanted except for that.

Bought for my wife and she loves them, they fit very nicely, and the water repellent is good only for very light sprinkling rain. Heavier rain it gets wet. They dry very quickly. The only downside is that the leg zippers are a bit too tight and is not so comfortable when sitting.

Love these pants. Comfortable, water resistant, and breathable. Only issue I have is that the back pocket has a Velcro closure which isn't very secure. It has opened every time I sit down and allows my phone to slide out.

I have tried so many convertible pants and none fit right. Too big in the waist, too tight in the thighs, they don't stretch when you hike. However theses are great, they are a little loose on the waist so I do wear a belt other than that they fit every where well. They stretch when I hike, the legs are easy to zip on and off. I wish they could be removed over hiking boots but it's easier if you take your boots off to remove the legs. Quality is ok, stitches are coming out but this is my second pair and I knew that was an issue but love the comfort and price so I'll deal with it.

I loved the overall fit of these pants (and found them true to size) everywhere except around the leg zippers. The zippers were too tight. They were fine when standing, but when sitting they cut in to my leg. Everything else about the size fit great, but sending them back.

I love these pants. I kayak fish and I really don't like wearing shorts out all day. These give you the option to wear shorts for a bit if you want to. One thing to consider is that while the pants are made of a super comfortable, stretchy material, the zippers on the legs are not. I'm usually a size 4. I ordered a 4. The pants fit me great except for where the zipper is around the thigh. It doesn't stretch at all. I'm ordering another pair the next size up. Hopefully they will work a little better.

Definitely go up a size! And get the long length if you are tall. I did both, and the fit is great. I agree with another reviewer - when hiking the above the knee zipper will rub and irritate. I bought them for sun protection and light hiking so they should be fine.

The waist on these was perfect, however, the hips and thighs are too small. They are a very straight fit top to bottom. I'm 5'6", 125lbs, 33" inseam. I do have a small waist with larger hips and thighs. I tried the 8 long and they fit perfect in the waist, but too small in hips and thighs, I tried the 10 Long but they were HUGE in the waist, could not make them work.

Love Columbia clothes. The athletic cut of these pants are a bit snug. You MAY need to go up a size. Depends on how tight fitting you want the pants to be.

Bought these in the City Grey, and the fit is pretty good if a little long when I am standing. For reference, I am 5'3' and 133 pounds so I purchased the pants in 8 Short. The adjustable ties at the ankle will take care of the length issue. The problem arises when you sit down. As other reviewers have mentioned, the area where the legs unzip to form shorts is tight around the thighs. This is surprising because the pants are sold as "Active Fit", which to me means I should be comfortable no matter what movement I make. I am keeping them because I have been losing weight and am hopeful they will be more comfortable when another 5 pounds comes off. For now they are my incentive pants.

Love Columbia products for hiking, these pants are perfect for getting out and exploring. My only issue was sizing, these pants run very small and I had to return and order a size up. Happy with my new pants.

I usually wear a size 8 but ordered a size 10. I'm glad that I did. They fit fine. They are a little snug around the zipper but not uncomfortable. People with more slender legs should be fine.

I always loved Columbia products. When I saw this was on sale, I had to get a pair.
After reading the reviews the first time around, I got a 14 (I usually fit a 10-12). When I got them, the waist part was fine but where the zip offs are, it was WAY too tight. If I wanted to crouch down or lift my leg high to simulate rock scrambling, it was too tight and dug deep into my skin; it would not have worked.
I returned them in exchange for a size 16. Now the waist is too big but at least I could have high legs and crouch down a little bit easier and the waist I could fix with either adding a base layer underneath or a belt. There is still a little bit of snug but not as terrible.
Overall it is a great product, good material, good quality but poor design. Those zip offs should not be that tight. Columbia, please cater to those who have hips and shaped legs, not just straight legs.
