My almost 21-month old is well off the charts (he has tall parents) and very wide feet (he's already using 4/5T socks). I've been buying New Balance extra-wide shoes for him, as these seemed to be the widest shoes on the market. They had one sandal option but it didn't seem right for him. So I thought I'd try these, as I didn't see another option online anywhere that might work for his chubby, wide feet. I saw other reviews that said the shoes ran big, but I didn't find that to be the case. He's in an 8 in New Balance (which does run really big) and the smallest option for these sandals was a 9. The 9 wide fit him great and i think they'll work all summer! Since they are advertised as water sandals I thought they'd also work well for splash parks, etc. We were at a rocky beach a week ago and I left him walk in the water and they worked great. Because of his chubby feet, I do have to keep the strap as loose as possible so he doesn't get red marks. For that reason, I wish the strap was longer, but thankfully it's not any shorter as we just have enough space. Worth the $$.

My son loves these shoes. He has wide feet and Keen's just don't work. These are every bit as comfortable and stylish. Comfortable without socks. We love them. Second year of getting these for the summer!

Really nice water shoe; hard to find a wide fit with closed toe and heel for a little boy. These run long, I think, so I am returning and reordering a full size down.

These shoes are a great buy. Sturdy, durable to toddler wear/tear, wash up easily, are designed to the peculiarities of little people feet, and are easy for them to get on/off on their own. We’ve bought several sizes and, unlike most shoes in our house, are still in excellent condition when my son has sized out of them. Extra impressive given that their design and fit make them work well for buying a size up and getting extra wear out of them.

Nice looking sandals! I bought them for the width and the toe and closed heel were also great features. Unfortunately, like the Keen sandals, my son didn't like the way the strap felt so we had to return them.

My son loves these - comfortable to wear around everyday summer for all activities. His second pair.

This is the second pair we've bought our son since he grew out of his ones from last year. He loves running around chaos his friends and having to not wear socks in the hot summer months. Great shoes for kids

This is the second summer that with Merrell Hydros for my son and so far so good! Last year we had the Hydro Juniors and in comparison the Hydro is more stiff, closer to Keen shoes, but still comfortable.

This is the second summer I've purchased these for my son. He loves them and so do I. Sizing is consistent with other Merrell Kids shoes I've purchased.

My son wore these hard all last summer and they have held up super well. He got another month or so of regular wear out of them this summer but he's finally outgrown them so we're ordering another pair! He loves them, and so do I. So cute and so durable!

My son loves these sandals. Comfortable, waterproof, and ready for anything. He measures an 11.5 so I sized up to a 12 and they fit perfectly with a little room to grow as the summer goes along.

Perfect sandal for a boy with a slightly wider foot! Not as wide as Keen's, which are too wide. We love the moccasins, so I figured these would be winners, and they are. Easy to get on and off, easy to run, and they look good.

This is the third year I've bought these for my son (age 4 1/2). One of the few sandals that come in a wide. I like that they have a closed toe with a sturdy rubber bumper, a closed heel, and they are easy for him to get on and off by himself. He says they are very comfortable. They're great shoes for an active kid.

GREAT sandals for my 4 year old. Although they ran a little big, we're going to keep them as they should hold up over time. They can double as water shoes & are easy for him to get on himself.

Great for water and the park...and not stinky! Next summer I'll probably just get these and not bother with regular sneakers for our little one. The wides are great for his feet, and he can easily take them on and off himself (he's four).

Finally found the perfect summer shoe for my running, tumbling, jumping pre-schooler! He can't wear most shoes because he has a high arch, which makes the top of his foot too tall for every other sandal/shoe we've tried this year! These are perfect and look great! They run a bit big. He's a 9.5 so I got the 10, but they were huge! Returned for the 9, and they're perfect with some growing room still.

This was a good purchase for a summer all purpose shoe. I got it instead of buying a running shoe and sandal. The shoes are flexible. They are a bit heavier than I expected in the soles as compared to the smaller toddler size I got my daughter. They don't seem to slow my kid down, though, and they seem well built.
