I bought these for my brother as he has a pair that is 4 years old that he wears everyday and loves them. He told me he needed to buy a new pair but hadn't been to the store in a long time so I surprised him with a new pair. He loves them. Thank you.

I have narrow, flat feet and found these very comfortable after 20 miles of moderate hiking.

After blowing out my Ahnu's and being forced to replace them I can tell you it took me 6 trips to retail stores trying on everything from Keens to Salomons, and then something I never do, ordering shoes online, 9 pairs in total from several retailers, 4 of those from Zappos. By the time I received the first pair of Oboz Bridgers however, I knew I wanted them, but it took me a few tries to get the size right. I usually wear a 9.5 or 10 (us) Medium so I always start with the 9.5, which in this case for me was just slightly too narrow for my right foot, which is a little wider than my left, and the 9.5 was also just a little too short for my left foot, which is a half size longer than my right foot, so I returned those and ordered a 10. The 10's were just right for my left foot (which is a 10), but didn't seem any wider than the 9.5's, so they still didn't work for my right foot. Returned those, ordered a 10 EE. Just a footnote, I have never purchased a EE width shoe, so it seems these run just a little narrower than most, that said, I think if your feet happen to be symmetrical and true to size, so are these boots. The 10 EE's arrived a couple of days ago and I have to tell you, they fit perfect. Took them out of the box, put them on, wore them for 14 hours the fist day and my feet felt great at the end of the day. That's the same feeling I had the day I bought the Ahnus, I knew the moment I slipped them on, so I know these are going to be great boots as well. Honestly, I had all but given up and was getting seriously disappointed that I couldn't find anything to replace those old Ahnus, but I think these Oboz are going to fit the bill perfectly, so much so that I just ordered a second pair to keep on the shelf. Gotta love Zappos, still be walking around in broken old boots if it wasn't for these guys. One more note, the gray and blue "slate" option are really great looking boots, sadly, they don't offer them in a 10 EE :(, so I opted for the "sudan" also a great looking boot, just a little more common color combo, still, no complaints.

I got a pair of these to try on and compare with other hiking boots. And these boots are awesome! They look great and feel great. They are light weight and the laces are very long, plus they come with an extra pair of laces. They have a higher ankle for increased support and comfort, as well as keeping stuff out of the boots better. There is webbing that comes up the tongue to help increase the water proofing depth, i did not test the water proofing capabilities, but they seem like you should be able to fully submerge the top of your foot and still be ok. Great shoes but ended up going with something else due to price.

These shoes have more room than any that I've purchased before. I have a very wide foot and there's still a little bit of room. I normally wear a 10.5 Keen that fits my toes fine but my heel would slide around and produce blisters no matter what sock I wore. I even added heel lift to no avail. These boots capture my heel great and have plenty of room in the toe as well as the width. I could envision wearing a thick merino wool sock in these boots and I still feel that they would fit. The arch support seems great and I am noticing a stiffness in the sole that I have never noticed in a hiking boot that gives me confidence that the fit will remain adequate after the boots break in.

Great shoe- had tried on a similar pair in store, so I knew to order 1/2 size larger than my usual size. Very comfortable. Perfect for cold, wet or snowy weather.

From the day I purchased these boots I've been wearing them. Typically, I've been clocking at least 6-8 miles a day and longer ones on the weekend. Just in time for winter, they have proven to be reliable in all weather and over all terrain. They are comfortable, warm (in my opinion just right) and most importantly, have been waterproof so far. I have experienced a variety of terrain and they have been stable with a good grip. I see some other reviews have said they are not water proof. This hasn't been an issue. I strongly encourage buyers to go on the Oboz website and review their suggested maintenance to keep your hikers like new, but specifically waterproof. I highly recommend these hikers. I don't think you'll be disappointed. Final note: you'll want to plan for a half size to a full size larger than what you're use too. Run a bit small in length.

Just used these hiking shoes for 33 days of hiking in New Zealand. Also broke them in in Virginia. I am 63 and have been hiking my entire like. I have gone through many boots. By far, these are the best I have worn on my feet. No rubbing problems. They fit like a glove. No toe problems. Highly recommended. I am going to buy another pair and store them away.

Hmmm. I wrote a review but it comes up as anonymous. It is the one that says Keen and Merrill better take notice. The only thing I would want on these is a pull-tab on the back. Great shoes that wrap your foot and no heel slippage.
I'd also recommend:
Merrell, Keen, Oboz

These are lightweight comfortable boots with a soft flexible neck and sturdy outsole. Seem to be better quality than most brands of hiking boots I've found.

Great hiker and feels like it's extremely sturdy with about as good arch support as you will find. I tried about 20 different hikers from Zappos and this one seems to have the best overall fit if you have overpronation. Solid soles that are sturdy and you won't feel all the rocks on trails. Terrific overall.

Ordered 11 EE, wide, and had too return because it was too narrow. I have a wide foot, but not extra wide, so I was disappointed. The boot looks nicely made. Since it did not fit I can’t judge the comfort accurately.

Well, I've only had these a few days, but want to validate other reviewers who are putting these in the same class as Merrill and Keen-- makers of great shoes I've bought more than once. Oboz is right there with them! I'm loving these already for how they wrap around my foot and hold my heel.

I wear between an 81/2 and a 9, and a EE. This boot felt like a 9 with an E width. Since there is no wider width available the shoes are being sent back. It is a shame, for the boots feel really good while walking (other than the width problem).

Best quality made boot for sure. I wear a true size 14 and this was a bit too small so I returned it. Bummer, this could be a boot that lasts a long time.

These boots are amazing. I wear them in -10 degrees and up and they keep my feet warm. Almost better than my Sorels! I recommend them to all. Haven't gotten to hike in them yet.

I have fallen in love with Oboz shoes since I bought the first one and it was built with quality and toughness! All other brand shoes have faded away with lack of quality and cheapness of the materials! Right now, i have about seven Oboz shoes and can alternate with the colors of my clothing to match!

Happy with purchase! Overall this is a great boot with little break-in time required. Excellent quality and construction with very good ankle support. I purchased a 10.5 EE and the fit was perfect.... not sure what these other reviews are talking about regarding size/fit, I guess everyone is different...that’s why I shop Zappos—fast delivery and free returns. Zappos is the best! Thank you!

My feet have great difficulty finding good hiking boots. I have owned many pair, and often end up with "rubbing spots" within the boots. This is the first pair of hiking boots that have fit me perfectly. I take a wide, and need arch support and these offer both. I have been on 3 hikes now, up to 4 hours long, and have absolutely no issues with these boots. Highly recommend them for people who normally have a hard time getting boots to fit properly. Now if they would just make an insulated pair in wide width!

Before pulling the trigger I tried on many, many boots. I couldn't find any that were less than $120 USD that had the kind of ankle support which is necessary for backpacking. Those boots have proper, snuggish fit starting above the ankle all the way down to the heel. When you lace them up tight your foot stays in place. The boot is stiff in the body which is good because it forces the your foot to not work as much. The materials are good quality. My only gripe is that the boot feels wide, but my foot is rather narrow, I have never owned a pair of W shoes. BONUS -- The boots comes with two pairs of laces! One pair is the accent color of the boot , the other the main color. This isn't advertised anywhere on the web. ;)

I took my Oboz on a hike to Flat Top mountain in Alaska, they were perfect in the rain. Slick, wet rocks were no problem. My feet stayed dry, and comfortable. Never needed to break them in, they worked right out of the box. Worth every penny. I only buy L.L.Bean because they always prove their worth. Thanks L.L. Bean

I hesitate to review an item until I have a longer history on it but these boots were great right out of the box for my foot. The toe box was wide enough for me where many other "wide" shoes/boots have not been. Same sole widths as my other pair of 13 4E boots. A little hard to get in and out of but well worth it for the superb ankle and arch support. Sizeable lugs on the sole which are a must for mushroom hunting off trail in the Pacific Northwest. Why do so many boots now come with low traction soles? Can't comment on water resistance yet but they even look good!
