I had high hopes for this well-made, light weight boot. However, the footbed did not conform to my foot at all, putting a hump under my heel. Also, The sole of the boot is a bit strangely rounded off at the back of the heel, making the the boot feel less stable than one might like. For me, they were unwearable.

Very narrow. I typically wear a regular width, but bought these in a wide as many reviews noted that they run narrow. They're right!

Super comfortable but the water proofing doesn't last more than a few months and the stiching starts coming apart in under a year.

I was excited to get these boots - I had seen them in a different size and was impressed with their quality. I wear an 8.5 Wide, so boots that fit are hard to find. However, I could barely get my foot into them! Complete mis-sizing on these boots!

My first pair failed in the boot at a bend point. Pair #2 the bottoms have both failed. Their bragging point. BEST boots on my feet ever. Fit like a glove. Returning the seller ll bean to see what they will do.

Had these shoes for two years. The stitching came undone and the sole began to separate from the shoe. Because it was outside the 1 year warranty period, LL Bean claimed it was normal wear and tear. A life span of 2 years is unacceptable for a product sold at LL Bean. For almost $200 for shoes, that are only worn for hikes, they should last longer. My Wolverine work boots that cost 1/2 as much are on year 5. I miss the days when LL Bean stood behind there products, but those days are over.

I decided to give this boot a try based on the tread, being waterproof, and the weight. Overall comfortable right out of the box and minimal slippage on the trails. About six months in began seeing failure in picture. Keep in mind these were not daily wear boots, only used for outdoor activities (fishing, day hikes, etc). There is quite a bit I like about this boot but for the price tag they need to be better. Overall disappointing.

Bad Boot but a great Company!
Great service from your sales person. The boots fit great in the store. After about 30 minutes of walking in the boot, the seam, or bulging leather kept rubbing against my ankle creating high ankle pain that became unbearable and as a result, the boots unwearable. These boots need redesign to eliminate significant ankle pain.
I returned the boots and explained the situation. The salesperson, Amy if I recall correctly, graciously accepted my return and processed a credit. I am an LL Bean customer for life as a result of their always stellar LL Bean Customer Service,

The lacing system is terrible : you have to loosen the laces all the way down to allow your foot to get into or out of the boot; this is exceptionally difficult because they use fabric loops instead of metal hooks. The sole leaves a lot to be desired: you feel every stone, pebble or twig that you step on. Also, the advertised weight for the PAIR is "one pound, thirteen ounces" ; the actual weight is one pound, five ounces for EACH boot, for a total of two pounds, ten ounces for the pair. They are made in Vietnam; which means they are one step above the quality of the garbage made in China. I have already sent these back to LL Bean, and have ordered an exchange for a pair of their fabric/leather Cresta Hiking boots. I already have a pair of the Cresta insulated, all leather boots, and they are excellent. The Crestas are slightly heavier and more expensive, but I already know they are a much higher quality boot. They are made in Romania, not in any Chinese or Southeast Asian sweatshop.

I have a very slim foot. A lot of shoes I have to tye so tight my feet hurt. These boots my feet rub on both sides. The insole is very uncomfortable also. It truly feels uncomfortable. Super hard and not flexible. The innermost of the shoe at its widest is under 4" wide. All of my shoes or boots are at least 4.5/5" wide.

I really wanted to love this boot; however, this is marketed as a EE wide shoe/boot, but, sadly, it is no wider than any other vendors medium width shoe/boot. If you need a true EE shoe/boot this is not for you.

These shoes are clearly NOT 14 Wide. They are listed on their tag as a UK 13 or Euro 48. Nice looking but they do not fit, either length or width. Waste of time, yet another trip to the UPS Store. Thankfully, the shipping is actually free.

The top hook for shoelaces came in-affixed from the shoe. It was possible for me to create another hole for the lace. But since this occurred within three days of use and paying $175 I returned them.

Light hiker from Northern Massachusetts Avg. 4 miles/day every day. Need a winter boot to grip slippery surfaces, warm, watertight in a wide width.
Ordered these boots in a 10 W, excited at getting what actually is a gorgeous, high quality hiking boot. Unfortunately it was nowhere near wide enough. Had a hard time putting them on, and they really cramped my feet.
Thank you LL Bean for your return policy.

I can pretty much buy off the rack and 11.5 Wide fits me perfectly. Unfortunately, 11.5 Wide in these Oboz are small and narrow -- very uncomfortable... Avoid!
