I have worn this running shoe almost daily for the past 9 months. Thus far it has been in my opinion an overall extremely good, but not quite five star, shoe. I think it needs a little more arch support, more cushioning, a better quality and shock absorbing removable insole (the currently provided insole looks cheap and feels flat), and a better gripping outsole (the current outsole does not grip that well on smoother surfaces or when wet.

They run a little big in size, which has caused some discomforted on the heel when worn over long periods of time. And the tongue can be uncomfortable at times if the laces are tied tight. The style is decent, but certainly not as pleasant on the eye as other competing brands. They do breathe very well, so someone like me who overheats easily will find relief with these.

Not worth the buy for me. It was definitely a strong built shoe but not enough cushioning for running and not much arch support.

Good quality except for no cushioning in the inside bottom of the shoe and in the insoles. You could buy insoles, but for $150 a pair, I have higher expectations.

While I need a shoe with a larger toe box, arch support, and accurate size, I found that the pair of 14W New Balance M1540v2 disappointing in all areas. The insole was a flimsy and nearly flat piece of material with no discernible arch support. The shoes were about a half-size narrower in width and shorter in length. Most striking was the feel ... stiff. The shoe's construction is still while providing no meaningful support.

I have tried many different styles of New Balance walking and running shoes. I bought these do to the glowing reviews. I understood that these were reviews so positive due to increased support and help with Plantar Fasciitis. I have flat wide feet and bone spurs on my heels. I walk 4 miles a day on average. These felt different than the New Balance shoes I have experienced in the past, they have little flexibility. It felt like I was walking in hiking boots instead of athletic shoes. I am into week 3 now and waiting for the shoe to start being more forgiving, that has not happened yet. I have ordered wide shoes from New Balance and have had good experiences with the wider 4E size. These feel larger than the 4E's I have ordered in the past. Unless these start to feel more like an athletic shoe soon I would hesitate to order them again. The pricing was higher than I usually pay but I wanted to know if I was missing out on a better fit and feel. My hunch is that I'll be trying a different model.

In order to save a little money, I bought these sneakers because they are u.s.a. made, but $10.00 cheaper than the 992's. I now see why, the soles are hard and the fit for the exact same size, is not as good as the 992's

She fit fairly well, but not as much comfort as expected from New Balance. Have had this item since October 2018 and it is already wearing out, even though I alternate shoes at all times. This shoe is a dissappointment

Great looking shoe! To new to comment on durability. I needed to order larger size than normal for a good fit.

I wore this shoe for 2 months to walk on the treadmill only. Buy the 3rd month, my shoes starting to squeak with EVERY step. They never got wet. Not sure what happened. I loved the width and the comfort. So I purchased a second pair and IT HAPPENED AGAIN. I will never buy New Balance again.

I ordered one of the 1540v2’s and one 1540 original. I’ll be returning the v2’s. No can mpstison to the original. Weird diagonal roll bar placement. I hated it.

This shoe has moderate support and color/style is nice but does not wear well on concrete when working 10 hrs a day.

I like the fact the shoe doesn't roll and feels stable. It's lacks cushion in the heal and is causing heal pain.

These are boats. They are enormous. I could wear 3 pairs of thick socks with these and still have room.

Very strange that these are described as for severe overpronation. They have so little overpronation support I almost though they were for supination (in other words, they almost made it worse). Also felt like a very light and "small" shoe that I hardly noticed around my foot. Which is not to my taste; I like a lot of support. But that could very well be a plus for some people.

this is the 3rd time i have bought this shoe and its great and keeps my feet healthy, only complaint is the quality of materials just are not the same, for the price of this shoe it should hold up longer than it does, i used to change them every 7 months i now need to change them every 4. I love the shoe but something has changed

Anyone with pancake-flat feet like mine and wear custom orthotics would love the V1. The straight last in V1 was arrow- straight, and I love it for that. The V2 doesn't fit like the V1. I'm not going to buy the 2nd pair of the V2. I resort to scouring the internet for any V1 leftover, but seems the inventory has run out.

Unfortunately I am a pronator with old hips and knees. While the shoe helps to correct my running style, the shoe does not have as much cushioning as other New Balance's I've bought. Usually a very satisfied customer

Toe box generous, length true to size, but minimal arch support. Even with 2 orthodic inserts, the arch was minimal

lite running, walking, every day shoe..not really great for the price. Purchased for moderate pronated feet - really poor shoe until you add custom orthodics - even then the shoe is not that good. Will not purchase again, too expensive ($159) for what you get

Ordered these shoes to replace the 1012's I've worn for years. Not a good replacement. These are just ok, fit is ok, cushion is minimal. I use these only for indoor workouts, and don't wear my normal orthotics, which probably contributes to so-so fit and performance. Needed a significant break-in period unlike the 1012's. I am flat footed and need a lot of stability. Tried Brooks Beast at the same time, much better, but for the first time ever, my toe came through both Brooks sneakers. Why can't NB just make the 1012 again?
