This is my third pair of this New Balance 1540 V2 over the last few years. I have always loved this shoe even though within 6 months I would get a hole in the toe area. I wear orthotics so it had been recommended I wear these shoes. For whatever reason, my right foot width and toe area was cramped with this new pair and it they were too uncomfortable to walk in.

Been wearing these shoes for a few years because of the motion control support, wide toe box and it accommodates orthotics. Only real problem with this shoe is the soles do not wear long.

I had to send the first pair back because the width was too narrow. I ordered the next width and it was perfect. I have a lot of problems with my feet and I can actually walk a little ways when wearing these shoes. The laces are very short so plan to buy new ones if you wear a wide width.

My feet are very finicky. I desperately need a wide toe box...this shoe delivers; HOWEVER, it is too short. I wear a size 7 in every shoe & there is no way this is a 7. Feels more like a 6 1/2. My big toe rubs the end. Needs to go back. Thanks Zappos for being so understanding!

The look of this shoe excited me because I have a really severe foot problem which limits my shoe selection. I have worn New Balance 928s for years so I thought this much better looking shoe with over pronation support and stability support would work for me. I was wrong. The flimsy netting would not hold my foot in place. How I wish New Balance would spend the money to make a leather 928 in the modern bright colors of the manmade fabrics. I know it can be done because I have high quality full grain leather coats in both purple and pink.

These fit well and provide very good support. They're a bit stiff around the ankle, but hopefully will soften up some over time.

I am a pronator and wearing these keeps my foot aligned and knees from hurting. I just wish the heel had more height.

Shoe was well cushioned. However, it felt like insole was not correctly fitted. There was a tiny gap when I walked and felt like it would eventually cause a blister on my foot.

The fit and size was perfect. EXCEPT to keep the heel slipping I need to use the last 2 eyelets. The shoelaces are 3” too short on each side. Can Not use. These are not inexpensive shoes. New Balance should provide laces that fit! This is 1st time this has happened and I have worn NB shoes for 10 years! Unfortunately I will have to return. ??Although they do fit PERFECTLY! No issues with toe box, bunions, and great for my over pronation!

These shoes are for the overprinator. When I tried them on I said out loud "they fit" and had a big smile on my face. The sole is very stable for extra support and my orthotics slide right in. The tongue on the left shoe is short and for $165.00 it aught to be right. I took the tongue out and put it back where it belongs. Shouldn't have to resew a shoe this high dollar!!!

Have this show in a different color, but for some reason it seemed that my toes were hitting the top of the toe box. No problem with my other shoe. Otherwise its a great supportive shoe-especially for pronators.

I have a multitude of foot problems: plantar fasciitis, bunions, second toe slightly longer than big toe AND in the last 10 years I've lost cushion "fat pad atrophy". New Balance had been the only brand of sport shoe that my feet are happy with. Unfortunatly, only the most expensive model fits my needs. Prior to the 1540, I wore the 1123 for many years---I was sad to see it go. I must always replace the insole that comes with these, with a Spenco flat/cushioned insole and then lay my orthotic on top.
