This is the best walking shoe I have ever owned - my second pair now, and I can put it on, lace it up, and walk. No break in period at all. I have many foot problems, so to have a shoe with so much comfort is amazing! And they are made in America. Good price as well.

My feet are soooo messed up. Hammer toe, bunions, bunionettes, plantar fasciitis. These shoes make working out an absolute joy. Great stability. I have two pairs: one for the gym, one for running around town. Love.

NB is all I have purchased in a very long time...their top walking shoe. Absolutely the best shoe for walking. Zappos filled my order perfectly and quickly. Started walking in them the day I got them. thanks

I got these shoes for my 82 year old mother. She loves them! She needs shoes with good support and a flat bottom. I had a pair in another color I wasn't wearing a couple of years ago and told her to try them. I never got that pair back and when she asked recently if I could find her a new pair of "tennis" in white, I was thrilled to find that the style she likes so much ("most comfortable shoes I've ever had") was available.

I absolutely love and highly recommend these New Balance shoes. They are extremely comfortable. I can wear them every day, all day. They provide the right amount of support for my feet. Many shoes are too wide for my heel, not true for these. From toe to heel these shoes fit perfectly. I have very flat arches and these shoes provide great arch support. The middle of my feet are wide and these provide just the right amount of room in the middle of the shoes. I have slight bunions and these shoes do not rub on them. They provide just the right amount of room and support. They are light weight and provide stability for my feet. I bought these in two colors. They are worth every penny. I highly recommend them.

I really like these shoes, but they seem to run wider than most NB sneakers. They are running shoes, so that may be the reason. I'm going to try to change them for a B width. I bought a D width. I wear orthodics in my sneakers and I thought that the wider with would be better. I was wrong. However, I really like the color and the style of these. I recommend them, but they do run wide.

This is the fourth pair of this same new balance shoe that I have purchased. When I find one that fits good, I stay with it as long as I can ! I take out the insole, and put in an orthotic, and that combination feels pretty good. The shoe I had before this rubbed on my little toe. These are roomier and that doesn't happen. I do change the shoe laces to a grey pair, the blue is a little much, and they don't always match my clothes. I like the grey color of the shoe itself, some of the colors now a days are pretty wild ! And I wear them seven days a week !

I love these shoes! If a new color becomes available, I'll be buying more. They broke in easily and have a nice toe box for wide feet. Also, the toe area is covered by a fabric that breathes when you are working out. Also, great walking shoes. I get compliments on them frequently. Great deal- I will be sticking with this model for as long I see new colors that look good on me.

This is my 5th pair of 1540. I supports my arches and actually is better for my walking. Its a sturdy sneaker and lasts a long while. I called New Balance itself and explained my physical problems (low arches and hip surgery) They recommended 3 different sneakers. I tried on all three and felt this was the strongest, best fit and most comfortable.My shoe sz is 9.5 but sz 10 fit better. I think its because I always wear heavy socks with sneakers. Not sure about that. It is also made in America which, to me is an added plus. I never spent this amount of money on sneakers but I went for it and to me its the best investment I made. Definitely recommend it-without a doubt!

I am diabetic and have been purchasing diabetic-approved shoes from Zappos for several years. I was looking for a more fashionable-looking shoe with a better color selection which might fit the bill even though not necessarily a diabetic shoe. I found it in the New Balance W1540v2. I am more than pleased with this shoe. It has a very roomy toe box with smooth inner seams which won't rub my toes or the outer edges of my feet. Arch support is not great, but I use orthotics for that anyway, and the orthotics fit well in the shoes. I wore these shoes all day on the first day, and they were very comfortable. The heel and ankle padding is good, and I like the firm support there. I hope the mesh material holds up well; it's the only thing I am concerned about.

Shoes recommended by my podiatrist for plantar fasciitis. Has the best support compared to other New Balance shoes for same purpose that I have tried in prior years. Able to use orthotics inside. The bottom feels hard, not cushiony, but that is what gives it excellent support. Firmly holds the feet and can be worn for a long time. Personally I did not like the colors available so I changed the laces to gray and now it looks much better.

Really great shoe. Although I made a mistake and thought I was buying the shoe that is all leather, I like this one and I'll keep it. It breathes and feels a little softer than the leather.

Love this shoe. Just tried a Fresh Foam and the cushioning on this one is even better. The toe box is wide and the heel narrow which is perfect for my foot. Very comfortable even wearing all day and doing some jumping around in the gym with it. Have worn it for about 6 months now and it is my fav.

This is the 3rd version of this model that I have purchased and it continues to be the most comfortable shoe I have tried. As a nurse I am on my feet a lot and this shoe is very supportive and comfortable.

These are my favorite walking shoes. Great support for flat feet and a heel cup that keeps my foot well aligned. I went to a professional shoe fitter and these were the shoes they recommended. I buy a pair every year. I buy a full size larger as my feet swell when I walk.
