I love the shoe. This is my second pair. I play water volleyball every day and these have saved me from the knee pain I was having while playing barefoot. They are lightweight and dry pretty quickly. I rinse them in clear water and hang them to dry from the loops.
The only reason they did not get 5 stars is that my first pair had the soles separate from the body of the shoe. I had to get some Shoe Goo (crystal clear, waterproof) to glue the front upper part of the shoe back onto the sole. Hopefully these will last longer than 3 months of wearing before I have to do that.

I had to return my last pair because they started falling apart 5 months in. These shoes usually last me a few years so I'm hoping it was just a fluke.

Have worn the shoes a couple of times now. Soles are surprisingly slick for a shoe that's supposed to provide traction in a pool. The "half size too large" fit makes walking to and from the locker room awkward but am adapting; less noticeable in the water. Soles have nice cushioning, though.

Just received and wore this shoe. While it fits quite well from heel to mid-foot, the toe box is too wide and is also much longer than the stated 8.5. They are at least a half size too long, despite all the reviews that say the shoe fits true to size. Too expensive to just toss and try the next size down. If they were "land" shoes, they'd be totally unusable. Passable for water work at least.

This is my 2nd purchase of this shoe. I purchased a pair last yr and LOVE! This 2nd pair much less cushioned than my 1st pair. Returned because of blisters and lack of comfort.

Great shoes would be better with slip on style. Laces are so long I trip over them as they come undone after triple knots.

I haven't really had a chance to wear them yet but they're not nearly as comfortable as I remember Ryka's being in the past. Not thrilled with them.

I was a little disappointed in the shoes. First they are made in China but I guess all inexpensive shoes are. I have calluses under my toe area and I was hoping there would be more padding in that area. I finally found some orthotics that I had that fit the shoes. The shoes still are not comfortable for a long hike but okay for short trips.

This shoe work for me. I usually wear a wide and thought I'd take a chance with these since they are a water shoe and laces can be loosened. But they pinch my toes and I felt like water would only make it worse.I returned them. If you need a wide shoe this isn't for you.

I had owned a pair of Ryka water aerobics shoes for over ten years, eight of which went unused! However, I recently used them again and realized that the leather was starting to crack. So I bought a new pair; much different, mesh instead of leather, and a few more drainage vents than the originals. They are great; dry much faster. Toggle fastnener is a bit fragile looking. So I added an extra toggle that I’d saved from an old jacket. Works fine. Laces stay put in the water. But definitely needed additional toggle.

I am a Ryka devotee, wearing nothing else on my size 5AA feet for more than 15 years. This is the first pair that disappointed. I bought them to walk in the rain, and I couldn't keep my footing. My feet hurt after walking only a few blocks. The loop that the shoelace goes through on the top of the foot broke at the first wearing, and while a minor thing, it just added to the frustration. Customer support was fantastic, and I'm hoping this was just a bad pair. Sigh.

Judging from the comments I have read, I am likely not to buy Ryka hydro sport shoes bc of the lace issue.

I got this shoe several months ago and still every time I wear it the back of my heel is rubbed raw by the collar of the shoe. I am very disappointed by the way it rubs on my heel. This is my 4th generation of shoes from you and I'd gladly take any of the previous ones over this one.

Great for Hawaii's lava rock tide pools and beach combing. Sole drains quickly. Trashed the laces that come with the shoe for 30" laces secured with the toggle clamp. Also inverted the lacing pattern so the free end is at the toe secured with the toggle and free ends tuck under the lacing like a Keen sandal. Worked fine...no excessive laces flapping about to trip on when exiting the water. Rykka, you need a better lacing solution for water shoes.

Attractive show but probably not enough support for the high impact dance aerobics I do. I'm going to use them but would not buy another pair like them.

I don't like the laced shoes at all. No matter what I do during the classes they untie. I so preferred your slip-on water shoes. Wish you would consider making again.

I wore my new water shoes for the first time yesterday. I loved the fit and support, but they are a dangerous shoe! I slipped on hot tub step and missed two more steps, embarrassing. Then when taking my shower, I stepped to the dryer area of shower and did the splits (luckily not all the way down. The tread is not made for water! Oops a minor but very important detail. These are dangerous shoes and I am so so disappointed that I spent so much money for. I'm back to my Merrill water shoes, 5 years old but no slipping! Rylan get your act together!

I had my first pair for years they very good. I bought a pair last year and the inside is coming apart and they don't stay tight on my foot. I'm not happy with these you can tell the quality is not there like they used to be!!

I have severe pronation issues, and this shoe offers no support to protect my feet to do standing and jumping exercises in a pool. The materials and shoe laces are fine. I would need a water shoe that is built for stability, meaning there is actual material built up under the arch to support the arch to walk and move. Currently, the Brooks Addiction design is what I wear plus a custom orthotic with anti pronation plates added on. In order to wear a water shoe without an orthotic I need the shoe to offer much more stability. I appreciate being able to try and return easily. I did find they run a half size bigger than my Brooks, so I would need to wear my measured size 9 rather than the 9.5 that I ordered. It would be awesome to see anew shoe design that would help me more.

Light weight, minimal support. My feet hurt after wearing them for a few days. I would not recommend for regular day wear.

I like the old version slip on much better for water aerobics . The tongue and laces are a pain to deal with. Please bring back the discontinued version!

I have taught aqua fitness for over 25 years and have always purchased Ryka footwear. I have been very satisfied, but the shoe I just purchased, the Hydrosport Water Shoe, I would NOT recommend. It is a great fitting shoe, supportive and looks nice - dries nicely and overall is typically a great Ryka shoe. However, I find the tread to be SUPER SLIPPERY! I teach in and out of the pool, mostly on the deck and if the deck is wet (which is ALWAYS is) this shoe is very slippery. It is also very slippery in the pool. I'm sorry to say I will not be able to wear this shoe anymore and will go back to my old shoes until I teach enough classes to buy another style.
