These shoes are about as nice as you could hope for -- for a shearling-lined, warm snow-style. Cozy. I'd like the taller ones but my calves are too wide for them. Careful on sizing these, since they're aren't any half sizes. I messaged Zappos, and they told me to go up a size, if I normally wear 8.5 (and sometimes 8). They were wrong. The 8 was initially very snug in the ankle; but I wore it around the house for an hour at a time maybe 3 times and it is now perfect. (I did have to break it in.) If I had kept the 9, I'd be walking out of it.

I have had a pair of the short classic for a while, but was looking for something a little more durable for wearing out in potentially rainy weather. I was also hoping for a more rugged tread, but something a tad more stylish. This boot fits the bill for me. The sizing was a little tricky initially. I'm an 8.5 and ordered size 8 (my size for the short classic). On first trying them, I found them tight and narrower at the toe, which prompted me to look online and read more reviews. I found a few reviews where people ended up going a half size up to a 9. I immediately ordered a pair of 9s, but they seemed loose. I had already sent the 8s back, so called Zappos CS and was able to get an exchange. I waited to send the other pair back so I could try them both. I walked around in my house with both pairs and ended up keeping the 8s. They fit a tad tighter than the classics, but they are the right size, and I'm glad I tried them again. I don't like having cold feet in the winter, and when I finally gave in to buy the short classic (I was not a fan of the look, initially), I fell in love with having warm, toasty feet. The Brooks style are not quite as warm. I figure that is due to the liner being the curly wool as opposed to the thicker brushed shearling (more insulating, imo). These are also a little more narrow in the shaft. I have wide calves, and don't usually do taller boot styles. Short boots can sometimes cut into my calves as well, but these do not. To me, they are as good a match of function with a bit of style as you can find. The tread does give better traction on multiple surfaces (better than the classic), but I had a little trouble on wet tile until my boots dried a little more. I can also tuck my jeans in them with a little effort.

I ordered a 9, which is my size (some recommend a half size smaller). I like more arch support so I put an insert under the fleece inner sole which makes the fit perfect. I love these boots. I don't want to take them off. I wear them at home, at work, everywhere. Well worth the price.

I absolutely LOVE these boots. I have had about 5 pair of various Uggs and these are BY FAR my favorite. Now I want the the black ones too. I usually wear size 7 1/2 or 8 and size 8 fits perfect.

Comfortable, warm, easy to put on/take off, good grip on ice and snow, stylish, not too bulky for a winter boot. Love these boots!

Now I get when people say you get that pair of boots you never want to take off! Brooks short are them! After mulling over size: (I wear a 7.5, my suede Uggs are 7) ordered 7 & 8, could hardly get 7 on at all, shaft very tight, toes squished, would they stretch? Socks would not fit with 7, so though 8 are tiny bit big with no socks (but can still wear -- so cozy!) with my warm socks 8 are perfect! Mink oiled to enforce waterproofing. So excited to have warm, waterproof, Uggs to wear when the snow comes to walk my dogs! Isn't that why we pay so much money for Uggs!? These replaced my black suede salt stained, tread worn, Uggs. At 61 I want function and style and Brooks short are them! If on the fence about them: do it!

The boot is perfect and the traction provided is excellent. However the heel is so overstated that I simply cannot wear this boot. So am sadly returning. I am 5.5 and size 6 fit best.

I am ecstatic to see these boots back! I have the old style that were suede & leather and they are my go to boots. They are 10 years old but I have replaced the Ugg insole in them. The tread on these boots is the best Uggs has ever made. I last year bought the Tall Brooks Boot thinking these would never come back. Fun don't walk to get these boots - you will not regret it!

Just got the boots and they feel wonderful and warm; good thing is that they are also light weight. I love the soft real leather uppers, so they don't look like those sheepskin Uggs teeny boppers wear even in the summer. The Brooks' tread is great for slush or icy conditions. But I have not tried them yet to see how water resistant they are. Anyway, I highly recommend these goods.

I ordered size 9 and received them today. I wear an 8 and a half shoe so thought I would go up to a size 9. I tried them on and a 9 would be okay I without socks but with socks very snug. I called my daughter and asked, am I old fashioned not wanting to go without socks. She said she and her friends always go up at least one size to accommodate socks. I sent back the 9 and ordered the 10, even though I wear 8 and a half in a shoe. By the way, I love the boots, the leather is so nice and they are toasty warm and with my socks they'll be even toastier!

Omg! I am so excited they brought this style back. My first pair of Uggs was the Brooks boot in brown and not only are they stylish and warm, they are waterproof. Being a WNY resident that is a must have for our cold snowy winters. I received numerous compliments on them as they are very nicely made and work well with any style.

I first purchased these boots about 12 years ago. I loved them. I live in the northwest and wore these boots for eight months out of the year. They wore out in four years, holes in the soles and shaft, not a bad investment. I have purchased either the tall or short Brooks every four years since. I am so glad to have the short shaft Brooks back. They are very comfortable and warm. The best part is that they are waterproof because I do a lot of beach walking with my dogs year round.

My short Brooks died an early death and I mourned them for years. I had resigned myself to not ever being able to purchase them again and they're back even better. Love the upgrade to all leather and this heel is the best.

I bought these boots at least ten years ago, and HAVE WORN THEM EVER SINCE!!! (And I live in the cold upper midwest so I wear them almost daily for more than four months of the year.) This is an amazingly comfortable, warm, sturdy snow boot, and I'm so relieved that it's back, because my feet have grown a little bigger after two pregnancies, and I'd like a new pair. These do not look as clunky as other uggs. Some days when I'm dressed up, I wish I had a slightly snazzier pair of snow boots, but they're so comfy and neutral that this was pretty much the smartest shoe purchase I ever made.

I bought two pairs of Brooks years and years ago and absolutely loved them, but sadly the women's version was discontinued. I was so excited to see them back. But be warned they are not really the same. Although somewhat battered, I still have my old ones so I was able to compare. The newer version has the advantage of a sleeker look (no suede, though) and better fit but with plenty of room in the toe box. On the downside the shearling is not nearly as thick and plush as the older version. In fact it looks almost fake, or maybe a blend of wool and synthetic. Also, the insole is not removable and there is a bare spot with the Ugg logo, right where the heel touches. It is not so much the manufacturing quality that has changed but the cheaper, stingier materials.

My love affair with Zappos endures. I must have gotten a defective pair because when putting them on I put my finger through them (literally through the leather and shearling!) making a 1 inch tear near the top but not near a seam. Weird, right? So I called customer service and the super nice guy apologized and offered to replace them but they are sold out of my size so he offered to refund my money or replace with something else. I said I wanted these, so he actually looked to see if any other online sellers still had them in stock! But no luck -- these boots are very popular and hard to find. They look great and are warm and cozy and have been great during this crazy cold and snowy CT winter. Not ready to part with them for the rest of winter so he refunded me half now, and said when they come back in stock next fall, I can return them for a replacement (or exchange for a different style if I decide). Love Zappos! They are the best! Who else would do that? I pledge my loyalty to Zappos.

I read all the reviews before I placed the order and still got the wrong size. I wonder if the customers who chose 'true to size' means it's true to Ugg leather boots specific size? I normally wear 6 for sneaker/boots/Ugg classic short/Ugg classic tall, so I ordered 6...it's really tight. I think 6.5 would work (unfortunately they don't have it) and 7 would be too big.

Nice and warm for the bus stop. Easy to put on. Was concerned since no.zipper but thats not an issue. I did scuff the toe on one foot already I dont know how since I have just recently gotten them. I wear them without socks mist times and I do.live in the midwest and take the.bus. Really warm! Oh, I bought a 9 thats what I usually wear, was cincerned it would be tight based in some if the reviews but its perfect, even has a little room.

I've never been even sort of tempted to buy UGGs before because I think the suede ones are ugly and impractical. But I wanted boots that are comfortable and will keep my feet warm and dry. I preferred to not have zippers or laces. I wear an 8.5 and, based on the reviews, I ordered a 9. I couldn't get them on with medium weight socks but they fit fine barefoot. They were comfy right out of the box - no break-in time at all, and they keep my feet warm, dry and very cozy. If anything they feel a little "clunky", I think because of they're a bigger size than I'm used to. But all in all, they're worth the money and I'm glad I bought them.

Usually wear an 8 1/2 in boots, so got the eight first but they were too snug in the toes and returned for 9 which after wearing feel too big and clunky. Wish I had kept the 8. Otherwise nice warm boots.

I was so excited to see this style is back, as I've been wearing my old ones for way too long and needed new ones. I ordered the same size as I used to have and received them in the mail today, and they are so snug I cannot wear them for more than 10 minutes. I'm not sure that going up a size will even help, because they are narrow in the width as well. Either they are narrower than the previous style or they use a stiffer leather that makes it feel that way. I suppose I will exchange them for the larger size and see if it helps. If not, back to the drawing board. My old Brooks have made it hard to buy anything else, because nothing can quite live up to them. Nuts!

I loved the style and fit of the boot when I put it on. I think it looks a lot nicer than the other Ugg boots. I wore them for a long walk right out of the box; however, I ended up with a red mark right below both ankles. I did not have socks on. I am hoping that next time if I wear socks that the same thing won't happen. I got a lot of compliments on them.

I first bought the Brooks in 2002 and had to buy replacements this year (Jan 2016) I love them. However, the originals were a bit better. The sheepskin was dyed to match the boot exterior, and it was much thicker and fluffier. The sheepskin on this new version is a bit matted and already not as soft and cushiony as the original version. This new version is good in that the sheepskin goes all the way to the toes, but I wish they'd go back to the higher quality materials used in the early 2000s.

Was very excited when these came back into production and liked that the upper portion of the boot is now leather instead of suede but the leather on the upper portion is so thin and fragile (I would say it's a defective, design flaw) that on the 5th or 6th time I wore them, my finger poked through the leather making a 1" tear in the leather of my right boot. And these Uggs are not tight or hard to put on and I do not have long or pointy fingernails; I was just putting them on normally. For a rugged boot like these, that is ridiculous and disappointing.
