My monster calves are 15.5 inches. I can fit them into standard rain boots, but not with regular jeans. The width on these is a dream. The high cost makes it a bit worrisome though. I hope they last a long time. I've read reviews from people that they don't, here's hoping! They are beautiful and seemingly well made. Very happy so far.

I purchased these based on a bunch of different reviews I've read on this and other websites saying that these boots fit wide calves. Hunter doesn't publish the maximum circumference of these boots (or at least I haven't been able to find it). I've read in various places that they fit up to 20" calves, but that is NOT true - my calves measure 17.5" and these were about an inch too tight on me - I could get them on, but they were so tight there is no way I could wear them for any length of time. I would recommend them only if your calves are 16" or smaller.

Ok, so I just received my order. I'm one that hems and haws over making a shoe purchase of significant amount. Especially, where I can't try the product on in the store before I purchase. I spent a lengthy amount of time reading reviews and testimonials about size and the size I should order. This part was stressful because I read reviews that stated to order a size down, a size up or keep to your current size. I wear a US 9.5 women’s in wide. In boots, I size up to 10 99.9% of the time and based on fit, I often will get 10 medium or 10 wide. I never wear a size 9. Finding a decent pair of boots that will fit well without making my legs or ankles look like an elephant is key. Based upon my research and the fact that these boots only come in whole sizes, I ordered a size 9. The boots fit perfectly in my feet, ankles and calves. The adjustable strap is awesome and I can adjust the strap so it hugs tight and comfortable around my calves. There isn’t any extra material bulging out anywhere. It’s amazing. I can walk in them and they walk with me. The boots aren’t walking me. I can wear the boots with skinny jeans, leggings, or tights. I didn’t order the boot socks because, based upon what I wear, the boot socks wouldn’t work for me. I hope this review is helpful to anyone considering order this style and stressing out over the size to order.

A gift for my wife, who loves them - replacing a previous pair. Back adjustment is more functional than the traditional side buckles. Classic style.

Bought these for my daughter-in-law for her birthday. She absolutely loves them. Although she is only 5 feet tall, they are not too tall on her!

My 17 year old daughter absolutely loves these boots! They fit perfectly and the buckle behind the calf is a great help for adjustments, for comfort. Excellent looking boot!

LOVE LOVE!! I'm 5.7 and these boots hit just below my knees. I normally wear an 8.5 in shoes but I bought an 8 and they fit perfect. I can even wear two pairs of socks because they aren't made to keep your feet warm! But they keep them dry! They are also a bit supportive (to me) I don't have issues with my arches so I don't know how it would be for somebody who does but they feel really good I can wear them all day

Love these boots. So stylish for bad weather and beyond. I wear an 8 1/2 and I got the 8 and they were still a bit large. I have to wear thick socks with them. They are very hard to get off as well. I have to get help. lol

I researched these boots for two weeks nearly full time. I was obsessed. I am going to make this short and sweet. Well worth the money! I am 5'8" and have 15.5" calves. While I fit (barely) in the originals I opted for the adjustable. I am very happy with my choice. They tighten if you have on leggings and they can be worn loose for jeans. I wear an 8.5 / 9 and I purchased the 8. Fits perfect with or without winter socks. Very comfortable and can be worn all day.

Love Love Love. This boot is a perfect adjustment for my calf. I have another pair of classic hunters but these adjustable are more accommodating for any calf and pant combination so you can just slip on your boot and hustle out to the rain or garden.

Love these and love Hunter boots!! I have the Hunters in the gloss color without adjustable straps and finds these more comfortable. I highly recommend buying the sock inserts for warmth.

These were a Christmas gift for my daughter. 1st I ordered her the regular Hunter boot & it was small. Together we looked at what zappos had to choose from & she decided she wanted these. It was an excellent decision. The adjustable back is awesome because the boot is tall & the adjustable strap hits her right at the biggest part of her calf. She is 5'9" & slim. These look great on her

These expandable boots are fantastic! My last pair of Hunters still look good even after 6 years but they are tight in the calves. I wanted a new pair that I could fit leggings or jeans into. When these arrived I was a bit skeptical on the fit because they seemed really big. But I was able to slide them on super easy and even have some extra room in them! The buckles are easy to manipulate to size as you need and the rubber is high quality and the way the foot is molded makes for comfortable wear when I'm gardening or at the dog park(great because it gets messy with the mud and paws). I bought the navy and love that they are neutral enough to go with anything but aren't black. Don't waste your time or money buying cheap rain boots. Invest in the Hunters because they are constructed with high quality materials and design in mind.

now i really understand what all the fuss is about with hunter boots. obviously they're fantastic looking, and the adjustable back tall fits my athletic calves. i'm relatively slim and petite, just 5'2" tall, but with 15" circumference calves at their largest. i have never found a boot, even extended calf sizes, that fit and look as good as these. the adjustability is generous - i have plenty of room to spare. they are quite tall and come to right below my knee. i bought tall hunter boot socks to go with, and i'll buy another pair in a different color. however, there is a tiny bit of wonkiness with folding over the sock with the adjustment buckle where it resides. still, these boots and the boot socks are so comfy, warm, and worth it! i'm very pleased with this purchase.

I absolutely love these rain boots! I have wide calves (about 17") and these fit me very well. Normally I wear a 9.5, but a 9 fit me fine and gives me room for my socks and pants, too. I've been wearing these every rainy day we have and am so glad I finally bought some!

Since I have wide calves, these fit perfect! I love the style and the comfort. Would highly recommend and well worth the $$.

A bit wide in the calf but if you have the socks they are great. If you are an athlete or have wider calf like my mom these are the option for you. I wanted them bc I wanted socks and I wanted high boots w the traditional English color bc I am in the U.K. All the time. These are the real deal.

I originally ordered the tour tall boot, but found that they were too tight on my calves. I ordered these in the same color. They fit much better especially over skinny jeans or leggings. I did order a size smaller than I normally wear. I usually wear a 7.5 or 8, but I ordered a 7 in the boots and they fit well. I like that I can still get the hunter style even with my bigger calves.

i LOVE these boots --- but i did think they ran a bit big. I am normally an 8.5/9 so I ordered a 9 and they were too big -- my feet were slipping in them. I exchanged for the 8 and they fit me perfectly. The adjustable back is perfect and it is cute. Would def recommend these boots!

I had a pair of original tall hunter boots but found them difficult to get off with 15.5 inch calves so I ordered the adjustable ones. They are just as stylish and much easier to get on and off. I highly recommend them if you have large calves as I do.

Truly a beautiful boot. Comfortable without being heavy or bulky. I purchased the extended calf and I have controlled over how tight they fit. I would purchase this boot again.

What can I say. I LOVE Hunter boots. I like the back adjust able because they are more forgiving for the calf area. Easy on and off. Having said that, I do have the side buckle which do not adjust and I am happy with them as well. When I broke a bone in my foot, believe it or not, these boots felt better on my feet than anything else I tried. When I received this black, back adjustable boot, it was the wrong style. Tom @ Zappos took care of me and sent out the correct pair overnight. I even received a coupon toward my next purchase (I have already spent) as well as boot socks as the Zappos way of saying "Hey, sorry for the error and thanks for your purchase". They are absolutely awesome. I only purchase elsewhere if it is something I can't find at Zappos. I can tell you that doesn't happen often. Zappos treats you right and that's hard to find today! I highly recommend Hunter boots and Zappos!
