It took a while to break them in. Size seems to be a little large. I usually wear an 8.5 but got an 8 and they fit perfect. Would probably wear a thicker sock if it’s really cold outside

Beautiful boots, but I wish these came in half sizes. Based on the size chart, my 6.5 size feet were recommended to order a size down. However, the 6 was way too snug. I tried a 7 and I was swimming in them! I ended up exchanging for a kids size 5 which feels the closest to a 6.5 and also doesn't hit my knee like these women's tall boots.

Love the style. But had to send them back. I was able to get them over my athletic calves with skinny jeans, but, they were basically skin tight and super difficult to remove. Further, they were so tight around the calf that all of the rubber material around the angles and lower calf bunches when I would walk, so you completely loose the elegance of the boot. I know Hunter makes a model with adjustable back intended for athletic calves, but I am not going to bother. I just literally need an extra inch circumference to make these work, but I fear the adjustable ones will be too big and bulky.

I am 5'3" and this boot was way too tall for my legs. Otherwise they would have been a keeper.

Like other reviews I ordered 1/2 size down and fit was perfect. However, I felt the boots were too tall, I’m 5’4” so I returned them for the short boots.

I love, love, love these boots. That being said, WHOSE CALVES FIT IN HERE? I am not a big girl, but I did gymnastics and dance and I climb a lot of trees, my calves are just buff. It's just sad that these boots wouldn't accommodate that. I love them enough that I did buy the adjustable back boots. Now those are perfection!

These boots are beautiful and exactly the color I’m looking for but they run really small! I am normally a size 9 and ordered the same but couldn’t get my foot in them at all. Such a bummer as they’ve been sold out of all other sizes for ages. I may have to just choose another color that’s available in a 10. Order a size up and you will not be disappointed.

I loved the style of these boots. They run a bit big as I have a wider foot and usually wear a 7.5, I sized down to a 7 and they still had room. I loved so much about the boot except the shaft. As you walk they slap the back of the calf and make a sound. They are awkward with the rubber being so stiff. If you don't mind that and just want style, they fit the bill. I will be returning them because of the shaft.

I wanted to love these Wellies; but in my usual size the fit is loose and sloppy, the foot bed too wide, and the shaft also, too wide. I am 5’10”, 165lb, shoe size 11.

In a nutshell, Hunter just isn't what it used to be. However, these TALL rain boots are the tallest and smallest circumference out there, so if you have skinny calves, these will fit the best. Although the style hasn't changed much, the details aren't as pronounced as they were before being made in China. For example, the toe cap is almost completely blended with the vamp. I liked the pronounced toe and more rugged sole. That being said, they're still the heaviest weight rubber in a classic rain boot and worth the money.

I've waited years to be able to afford these without guilt. The style is so classic and timeless and right up my alley. Well it turns out I should have tried them on in stores in order for me to avoid the disappointment I'm currently going through. They look beautiful, but their lack of half sizes is a dealbreaker for me. I was an 8.5 before I had a baby and am almost a 9 now, so after reading reviews I thought I was set with a 9. Especially since my left foot still has some edema (swelling) that doesn't go away. It fits too loosely with thin socks and not nearly tight enough with thick socks. However the calf circumference is perfect. When I went to a retailer this weekend to try on an 8, the foot fit PERFECT with thick socks, but it was cutting off my calf circulation!!! I'm 5'7" with a semi-muscular build, and I cannot believe neither size works for me. I need an 8 foot but a 9 calf. Lesson learned.

The boots are way too tall, and very tight on my calves. I don't ever get a wide in boots.

The top of this boot is 16" diameter; so is my calf, so it was like a tourniquet. My previous pair of Hunters had a looser fit and more relaxed style. These new boots were also tighter around the ankle; I had to return them.

My calf is 16" around and the circumference of the top of the boot is 16", so it felt like a tourniquet once I got it on.

After owning them for only 2 years they are peeling. Previous pair lasted 5+ years before cracking. So disappointed

Boots don't last. My daughter and I both had pairs recently, and neither lasted a year before they cracked, split and leaked. These clearly cannot be the quality of the original Hunter boots that would last for years. Sadly, I think they're outsourced to China now, and the quality reflects it. Won't be wasting my money on these again.

Agreed with another review that the materials in these boots are now just sub par. One would expect materials that would degrade and crack with a cheaper brand, but Hunter has a reputation that they are just destroying by not watching quality control. These boots were used 2-3 times in Socal and they look 20 years old. Thanks to Zappos for returning them.

These boots were really nice looking and comfortable. Unfortunately after a few years or minimal use they started to peel and break down. They look dirty in the pics but that is actually the boots peeling. Of course Hunter won’t do a thing about it even though it’s a known issue with their boots.

I ordered a US size 7 for my daughter and had it mailed directly to her at camp. The boots arrived as expected, thank you! The problem is, when she came home and I surveyed the boots, they were a UK size 7, not a US size 7, so a US Womens 9... She has worn the boots, big as they were because she needed them so now I can't exchange. I wear a 9 so will keep, but I am making a review because when I went to order another pair for her, I see you indicate that we should order US size which I did do last time and was unsuccessful. I checked my order receipts and indeed followed the directions. Question...do I order US size or UK size to get what I actually want?

The fit of the boot itself was great (the foot part). I typically wear size 8.5, but ordered size 8 (only whole sizes available) as was recommended in some reviews. That was perfect but the shaft itself is a bit too narrow for me even just wearing them with tights or leggings. I instead ordered the ones with the adjustable back which has a much roomier shaft. All-in-all, great boots.
