I have just purchased these Hunter boots and I absolutely LOVE them!!! So comfortable and stylish. (And a great review for Zappos too; mine arrived in ONE day!) I feel that the calf fits perfectly -- I have semi-athletic calves-- and after much research on sizing I am happy with what I chose. Normally I am an 8.5 in shoes but I heard that these ran large, so I bought an 8. They are not snug, nor loose. I can comfortably wear them with and without thick socks. I had also tried on a 7 and those fit almost exactly. So, if you're a half-sizer like me and looking for something that you can wear with thick socks, or if you don't like your shoes to fit snugly I'd suggest going a half size down. If you live somewhere warm or you don't need any extra room then you can go 1.5 sizes down. Best of luck to those buying!

Being a Brit "wellies" are a go to footwear item. These are undoubtably the most comfortable & durable wellington boots I have ever owned. I am on my 3rd pair and use them nearly everyday for dog walking. They are extremely comfortable, durable and clean up really well. The footbed is very supportive, I have walked miles in them, my other rainboots (Joules) pale in comparison. They do cost a lot but you get what you pay for and in my opinion they are worth every penny. They are not given a Royal Warrant of appointment for nothing!

They run a little large. My daughter is an 8.5-9 and we first tried the 9 since they only come in whole sizes. It was too big, but Zappos was great about the return and now the 8 fits great.

These are living up to the reviews, but they're so new I'll review them again after I get through the winter. I bought an 8 and I'm usually an 8.5, and that was the right size for me. And there's still the right amount of room for thick socks. It takes me 15 minutes of city walking to get to work, and these boots are comfortable, and fine for walking a decent distance. I'll be interested in seeing how the tread holds up in the winter, and I need to buy the fleece inserts too. Also I wrote no arch support - I don't need arch support so I'm not a good judge of that. I love that they're so tall. The height gives even more coverage from the rain. So far so good!

I bought this pair of Hunter Original Tall boots because I had the Hunter Original Tour boots for about a year and they got holes in the seams. I loved the Tour boots, however, the thinner rubber wore out from my excessive use. So far I am really happy with the Hunter Original Tall boots with the thicker rubber and I am thinking they should last longer than the Tour boots. I wear them with the boot sock inserts in winter to walk my dog as well as on rainy days.

If you are a size 8½ get the size 8. My daughter wears an 8 and they are they fit a little big but ok with socks. I wear an 8½ and these are perfect on me with thick and regular socks.

As expected, these ran on the small size (I usually wear a 9-9.5, and the 8s fit perfectly). They are SO cute, the perfect height (I'm 5'7" if that matters), and fit snuggly (but not too tight) around my calf. LOVE them.

I am tall-ish (5'7") with slim-ish calves and these fit just right. If I was any shorter or had slightly larger calves I think we would have a problem with fit. These are heavy, but surprisingly comfortable and do the job of keeping feet dry! They are a wee bit large, but I am not a half size so I did not feel comfortable sizing all the way down a size. I think I made the right choice as I can wear thick socks with these now.

True to size and lots of room in the toe area for thick socks to wear these closer to winter! Great boots, cute style, well made.

These boots are comfy, dry and warm. They are the perfect outer wear for those rainy days. The deep red color is true to the photo and adds a pop of color to gray wet days. Love my new boots, and am looking for another color because they are so much fun!

Runs VERY true to size! If you are a half size, size UP. I was given contrary advice but I think Hunter changed the shape/fit of the boot to be more true to size than it has been in the past. My roommate's boots are a size 8 (from 2 years ago) and fit looser than my size 9's do! Calves provide good room even for thicker calved women, mine are around 14.5 for a size 9 and while they're snug, they aren't cutting off circulation. Great boots and the red looks great! Another note for my petite women out there: at 5'4", sometimes these hit the backs of my knees like when going up stairs or seated particularly low, so if you're much shorter than 5'4" I don't recommend these!

I have both the original tall and glossy Hunter boots. The matte boots are a little tighter and stiffer than the glossy. Glossy is a little more forgiving if you are between sizes and ordering down. If you plan to wear in colder weather with a liner round size up.

I love these boots. Perfect height. Lightweight. Comfortable. I want another color!

So yes, these are just expensive rain boots. But they're adorable, and fit well. I expect they will last a long time, which to me, is better than buying new ones from target each year.

I ordered these boots in preparation for the fall/winter. At first I ordered a size 6. I am usually a size 6½. The 6 fit, but I sent them back because my big toe reached the front of the boot and I was concerned about getting blisters. I exchanged the boots for a 7 and they fit perfectly. The boots are right around the ankles. If you are in between sizes I suggest ordering the size up because of the ankles and the flexibility of wearing thicker socks. The 6 that I received did not have any of the white wax residue on them, they looked great! The 7 that I received did have the white wax residue. I can assure you that the wax wipes right off with a little elbow grease and the boots look great.

My daughter uses these to do field work in the mud and woods of Maine for a summer research project. They are very comfortable and durable unlike cheaper boots. Expensive, but worth it if you need the durability and comfort. Some people think they are fashionable, too.

Hands down the best rain boots there are. I'm a city gal and no longer have to dodge puddles - like my less fortunate fellow pedestrians who don't own these. I highly recommend the boot spray to rid the boots of rain/snow/mud marks and the 'blooming' that occurs.

These boots make rainy weather fun again. They are a bright shade of sky blue and are sturdy enough to trudge through light snow or rain. I get compliments every time I wear them out and about. They feel a little bit bulky, but I want my rain boots to be sturdy so if that means a little extra bulk so be it. If you wear your boots with hunter socks or other bulky style socks, you'll want to go with the larger size if you're normally a half size.

These boots have amazing style, and fit more like a glove than a boot! Very pleased with the quality and attention to detail. Would recommend them to anyone as the best rain boots on the market!

I haven't really had a chance to wear these out yet, but they feel very comfortable and they are really cute on. I found them to be true to size and have no trouble fitting skinny jeans in them. They are a nice height for me (I'm 5'9") and I expect to get a lot of use out of them.

I am happy I purchased these. They definitely do run big, I'm normally a 7.5 but 7 fit. I am pretty athletic and these barely fit my calves. I purchased wellie socks to go with them and I can't wear them with the socks because it makes them too tight on my calves. I would recommend getting the wide-calf ones if you even think they might be tight on your legs.

The sky blue is a bit darker in person. Been a fan of Hunters since I was young, they keep your feet nice and dry but not the warmest so definitely keep that in mind when buying. Really happy to add another pair to my collection!

I LOVE my red boots, but my review is really about the outstanding customer service at zappos! My order came soooo fast and as always, it was packed perfectly! I always find what I want online, then come to zappos to get it. LOVE!!!
