I've had this boot for over a year and have noticed several shortcomings. The tread is very wimpy except for the most gentle and established trails. The sole is too flexible for any long distance hiking support and you feel more than you should over rocky terrain. I had to take out the insole and replace with superfeet inserts to get better support. The lacing around the top is not high enough and I get debris in my boot (fir needles, pebbles, etc) when I hike. I got this boot because I have hard to fit wide feet. But now more shoe/boot makers are now offering wide boots (Merrell, Keen). I would not recommend this boot to any semi-serious hiker.
I'd also recommend:

Dunham/NB was once my "go to" but no more. Quality of construction is sub-par...especially for a $140 shoe. Got about two months out of them and now they are literally falling apart at the seams. Very disappointed.

Very poor support for the foot and the arch. I have found the soles to be very dangerous on ice and snow as there is no traction. The laces are too short On the pro side, the shoe fits well and they are easy to lace up. The leather upper is of good quality, and they are waterproof and warm. I am not a heavy man, but these shoes are very disappointing

I have owned two pairs of Clouds. They are very comfortable, as a good hiking boot is, but are limited by their lack of traction. The sole pattern is not properly lugged and is too shallow to give sufficient traction in slippery downhill conditions, or in snow, even on flat terrain. Until Dunham gives them a better sole, preferably Vibram, their usefulness is limited. They also need a waterproof membrane such as Gore-tex because all the stitched seams and the mesh tongue, provide entry points for water.
I would recommend these only for dog walking in dry conditions on paths with good footing, and perhaps for getting around town in mildly inclement conditions.

Very comfortable, very light. No support for real hiking. Hooks started pulling out in less then 6 months.

Bought these a little over 1 month ago to wear while working as a member of a golf course grounds crew. Fit and comfort no problem, they ARE NOT WATERPROOF!! My feet and socks are wet everyday at the end of the day.

Ordered 4E and disappointed by narrow toe box. It's stiff and definitely not an 'out of the box' ready hiker. The rubber making the toe guard makes it too stiff and look like a cheap Wallyworld shoe also.

I have had moderate success with Dunham in the past but simply put, these are the worst boots that I have ever worn! They seem well constructed however there is zero cushioning in the entire forefoot and the provided insoles are comically thin. They claim to have their "abzorb" material in the sole but if you step on a pea sized rock you can feel it right through the sole of the boot. I am amazed at all the positive reviews.

They ARE NOT WATERPROOF, not even close.
I've had 4 pairs of these that I just wear for yard work etc, not for actual hiking. Last Saturday I wore a pair that is 9 months old a 3 house hike in a steady rain and they leaked like crazy, They took 4 cycles on a boot dryer for the inside to dry out. Also, just called customer support they only have a 6 month warranty, what a joke.

I own this same style in size 15 B purchased several years ago. I was, and remain pleased with those boots.
It appears to me that the Durham Cloud boots being manufactured now are nearly a full size smaller and narrower than the old boots. The insole is more than 1/8" narrower and shorter; the outsole is also shorter. The boot will barely close over my foot unless I wear an extra thin sock – I would guess that the old boot’s B width must be at least a D in the new sizing.

Not water proof. Maybe water resistant but not waterproof. I’ve had a month and the seams are fraying and pulling away near toe of shoe. This boot is complete trash. They look great but that’s it. Not durable and definitely not waterproof. I am so disappointed. This brand is complete trash.

I like the shoe, however the width is much narrower than other Dunham shoes I've purchased, to the point that they are causing pain and I have to stop wearing them. My other Dunham shoes in the same size are just fine, so it's these ones in particular. I'd go up to a 6E if they offered it.

When I tried them on they seemed at least 2 sizes too small. My 14B feet could barely jam in there - I don't think I could have laced them up. I checked the shoes and the box and they were all labeled 14B. I've worn Dunham shoes for years, and I've never had a problem like this before. Maybe I should try a size 16?

I spent money I didn't have to get these boots because they are supposed to be waterproof. I am out in the weather all day. I wore these boots for the first time today, walking through snow all day. They are not waterproof. My toes are soaked. What a waste.

What happened to this brand? I own several pairs, including a pair purchased a year ago which fits perfect. They are now visibly cheap looking, like a knockoff. The size is now way off. Purchased a 2E in my usual size for years. They are now visibly narrow as soon as you take them out of the box. I couldn't get my foot in! They look and feel like a 'narrow' width. This is what happens when a brand keeps changing ownership but charges the same high prices. So cheap looking now and the size is so far off. They look like something you would buy at a discount store for much less or off a street vendor.

The toe box is wide and roomy, I Really wanted to love these. But…
Bought these Dunham Clouds for a week in snowy Whistler BC. By day three my feet were aching so badly I had to go buy thick gel inserts, which barely got me through the week. These shoes have zero cushion, like strapping planks to your feet. The toe box is roomy, They kept my feet dry in the snow and the outsole kept traction on the ice, but my feet hurt so badly I couldn’t wait to get them off each day. After wearing them for a week I am discarding them and will search for something with a wide toe box that has a lot more cushion.

Oh, how I miss being able to order those Brooks Addiction Walkers (Not the new model II). They fit me. I haven't found a pair of shoes to equal them since, including my most recent pair of Dunham Cloud Waterproofs. My right arch can be painful from time to time as I wear them. Typically, at 82, I have walked two to five miles everyday until this pair from Dunham. Now I have to lay off wearing this new pair until my foot recovers. Can't Zappos/Amazon exercise their market pressure to brink my favorite Brooks Walkers (not the new II) back. I have only a few miles left in my old Walkers and they have begun falling apart after many, many miles. Perhaps I will be surprised to find that you and Brooks have brought the old Walkers back. If not, I will continue looking for another pair of walking shoes that give comfort to my difficult to fit feet.
I'd also recommend:
Only the old Brooks Walkers (not the new II model).

Nasty pinch point over the left big toe. The metal lace eye digs into my foot when striding forward. No problem on the right foot. Not a bad shoe except for this issue, unfortunately the issue makes them completely useless to me. Problem didn’t manifest itself until after a couple 5 mile walks in the woods so I don’t feel right about returning them in this used condition. My first Dunham boot purchase, probably my last.

Ordered shoes on January 18 received a reply from Zappos they would arrive on the 20th. Today is the 29th and I'm still waiting for them to arrive. Out of frustration I went ahead and ordered a pair from Amazon and got them the next day. Guess I have to wait until the Zappos shoes arrive so that I can return them for a credit. Zappos never indicated that these shoes were out of stock or there was any reason that I should not order them and receive them in two days. What a waste of my time.

I just bought my third pair and it will be my last.Quality / Quality Control just not there anymore. Fit not the same as before. Shoelaces were not the same length, one being 4" longer than the other. Two minutes after placing my order I tried to modify to change the color. Their policy says such change is impossible once the order is placed. There are too many other options available to put up with that kind of customer abuse.
