There was only one reviewer who had mentioned a narrow toe box so I thought I would try these. The space across the balls of my feet was not nearly wide enough for my 4E feet. With thicker socks like I would normally wear hiking, they fit so poorly that it actually caused gaps along the tongue of this otherwise waterproof shoes.

These are essentially over-priced high top running or athletic shoes, not hiking shoes. The soles are too thin for hiking over irregular terrain with jagged rocks.

I ordered these based on the reviews and the size I normally wear with my orthotics. Well, these had moderate arch support so I decided to go ahead and try them the way they came out of the box. They are comfortable and would be great if my toes weren't hitting the end of the shoe! And mind you, this is with out my arch supports. These shoes fit less than well after walking in them for several days. I've tried everything I can think of to remedy the situation and unfortunately after a month of off and on trying them I'm going to have to trash them or donate them??

I ordered these shoes for my dad for an upcoming hiking trip. He has worn these for a week, breaking them in, and the front sole is already coming apart from the boot. He wasn't even hiking. Just everyday wear. Will send them back for a better constructed pair of boots. He did mention that they are wildly comfortable!

I have been wearing the Merrell Moab 2 Mid WP Hiking Boots and thought that the Dunham Cloud might be a lighter and better boot for my flat feet. From a pricing standpoint, there is very little difference. I only had to put the Dunham on for a few minutes to see that its construction was cheaper and inferior to the Moab. For example, the Moab's toe protection is sewn into place whereas the Dunham is glued.

I've had this boot for over a year and have noticed several shortcomings. The tread is very wimpy except for the most gentle and established trails. The sole is too flexible for any long distance hiking support and you feel more than you should over rocky terrain. I had to take out the insole and replace with superfeet inserts to get better support. The lacing around the top is not high enough and I get debris in my boot (fir needles, pebbles, etc) when I hike. I got this boot because I have hard to fit wide feet. But now more shoe/boot makers are now offering wide boots (Merrell, Keen). I would not recommend this boot to any semi-serious hiker.

Dunham/NB was once my "go to" but no more. Quality of construction is sub-par...especially for a $140 shoe. Got about two months out of them and now they are literally falling apart at the seams. Very disappointed.

Very poor support for the foot and the arch. I have found the soles to be very dangerous on ice and snow as there is no traction. The laces are too short On the pro side, the shoe fits well and they are easy to lace up. The leather upper is of good quality, and they are waterproof and warm. I am not a heavy man, but these shoes are very disappointing

I have owned two pairs of Clouds. They are very comfortable, as a good hiking boot is, but are limited by their lack of traction. The sole pattern is not properly lugged and is too shallow to give sufficient traction in slippery downhill conditions, or in snow, even on flat terrain. Until Dunham gives them a better sole, preferably Vibram, their usefulness is limited. They also need a waterproof membrane such as Gore-tex because all the stitched seams and the mesh tongue, provide entry points for water. I would recommend these only for dog walking in dry conditions on paths with good footing, and perhaps for getting around town in mildly inclement conditions.

Bought these a little over 1 month ago to wear while working as a member of a golf course grounds crew. Fit and comfort no problem, they ARE NOT WATERPROOF!! My feet and socks are wet everyday at the end of the day.

Ordered 4E and disappointed by narrow toe box. It's stiff and definitely not an 'out of the box' ready hiker. The rubber making the toe guard makes it too stiff and look like a cheap Wallyworld shoe also.

I have had moderate success with Dunham in the past but simply put, these are the worst boots that I have ever worn! They seem well constructed however there is zero cushioning in the entire forefoot and the provided insoles are comically thin. They claim to have their "abzorb" material in the sole but if you step on a pea sized rock you can feel it right through the sole of the boot. I am amazed at all the positive reviews.

With only about 3 months of wear these start to peel apart and the tread is getting very thin. If you are walking for than 10k steps a day these are not the boots for you. They are great until they fall apart.

#DONT BUY THIS SHOE# I thought mostly everything was great about this shoe. I'm a top performer/front runner driver for Amazon and so I get a lot of hours in. I paid extra money to get this specific shoe thinking it would be put together with more quality. I only wear these shoes at work and on the 10th day of wearing them they were already falling apart. I started noticing white lines around all of the seems which I've never seen with any other shoes I've worn. This is a sign of poor craftsmanship. Like the white stuff is glue that is dissolving. The entire bottom part of my shoe is coming off and I'm afraid it won't last through my day at work today.

They ARE NOT WATERPROOF, not even close. I've had 4 pairs of these that I just wear for yard work etc, not for actual hiking. Last Saturday I wore a pair that is 9 months old a 3 house hike in a steady rain and they leaked like crazy, They took 4 cycles on a boot dryer for the inside to dry out. Also, just called customer support they only have a 6 month warranty, what a joke.

I own this same style in size 15 B purchased several years ago. I was, and remain pleased with those boots. It appears to me that the Durham Cloud boots being manufactured now are nearly a full size smaller and narrower than the old boots. The insole is more than 1/8" narrower and shorter; the outsole is also shorter. The boot will barely close over my foot unless I wear an extra thin sock – I would guess that the old boot’s B width must be at least a D in the new sizing.

Not water proof. Maybe water resistant but not waterproof. I’ve had a month and the seams are fraying and pulling away near toe of shoe. This boot is complete trash. They look great but that’s it. Not durable and definitely not waterproof. I am so disappointed. This brand is complete trash.
