I bought these along with two other pair of shoes for a trip to Spain (Rieker and Alegria). This was the only pair I kept and I could not have been happier. I wore them with pants, skirts and shorts both with light socks and barefoot (best was barefoot). They felt comfy straight out of the box and I did not break them in before our trip -- where we averaged about 10 miles of walking a day. I have a high arch and although I do not need orthotics (or, maybe I do need them and just don't have them!) and these had enough support to make the shoes work -- highly recommend!

I have a lot of foot problems. It started in 2006 with plantar fasciitis. I started wearing shoes with very good arch support and it improved, but another problem developed. I now suffer from plantar fat pad atrophy. Since I have a very flexible foot, I am in near constant foot pain. One more foot problem: my feet and ankles really retain water when I travel. I bought these shoes for a trip to a tropical location where I knew I would have problems with retaining water. These shoes were really awesome! I only had one day with a little foot pain. On that day we were walking through the rainforest on extremely uneven ground. Yes, my feet did swell and because of the style/fit of the shoe they still fit. The upper part of the shoe just covers the toe so along with the Velcro strap there was room for my foot to grow. I will buy this shoe again.

I really like these shoes. The footbed is extremely comfortable (soft and cushy). The leather is soft and flexible. The top of the shoe is unlined so the flexible leather easily adjusts to your foot. The toebox is generous in height and width. The strap at the heel is padded and secured the foot well. The design made my size 10 feet appear shorter. The US sizing of these shoes fit much better for me than EU sizing. The size 10 fit perfectly while I need a 101/2 or 11 in New Balance sneakers. I hope this helps. I would recommend these to anyone looking for a comfortable shoe.

I adore my Aetrex Cheryls. They are the most comfortable shoes I own. I'm in love with Aetrex and the footbed on these shoes are so blissful and luxurious to walk on. Truly, these shoes are a Holy Grail item, one that I hope Aetrex continues to produce for decades - because this style is classic and perfect. I have 5 pairs of Aetrex shoes / sandals, plus several pairs of insoles. This company has better comfort shoes than Naot, and that's saying a lot imho, considering they're more affordably priced.

I had bought a pair of these on another site and LOVED them from the start. Went to order more and they were out so I came back to Zappos and found two more pairs and bought them quick! Now I have two more for when I wear out the others. I have more foot problems than I can even mention and usually have to wear crocs with my dresses for work as they are the only things I have found that I will not be in constant pain all day. I don't do well with shoes with heals in them either and finding something like this that will stay one your foot and is the MOST COMFORTABLE SHOE EVER is amazing! The first day I wore them at work I did not have to change after an hour or so as is with every other shoe I have tried! I even took this shoe on vacation for a week and wore them every day and we did a LOT of walking! I usually have to order a wide shoe just for one of my foot problems and was afraid that these did not come in a wide but they fit like a wide. They are GREAT!! So happy to find something cute and super comfortable! I have ordered a zillion shoes and have had to send them all back as they say they will be comfortable but they are not. These have the most butter soft leather that it does not bother my hammer toe at all, no pain there! The strap is in the perfect place for the top of my foot to not be bothered and the cushioning is just perfect!! I LOVE THESE SHOES!!! Now I have three so they will last awhile for me.

This is my third pair of Aetrex Cheryl shoes. I have them in iron, black and green. I have bunions and hammertoes and the toe box gives enough width to not impinge on my feet. The arch support is outstanding and aligns my spine and hips. The cork sole cushions each foot strike and there's no impact on my knees. My foot and ankle doctor checked my shoes out on my last visit and gave a big stamp of approval, even wrote down the brand and style for other patients.

I ordered Aetrex Cheryl Mary Jane in Pacific Blue right before leaving for a trip. I was so glad they arrived on time. I tried them on and they were comfortable out of the box and very cushy on the bottom. They were quite roomy in the toe box, with plenty of room for the wide part at the front of my foot and my high arch. They looked boxy in the toe area, like it shows in the photo, but not unattractive on my foot, even with my skinny ankles. The strap adjusts to make them snug, which was needed for my foot in order to keep them secure. I was happy there was plenty of velcro to make that happen. So pleased to find a pair of almost-sandals for summer. I thought the blue was pretty, but might Bettie be described as blue-green. I like the color and it goes with a lot. Very happy with this purchase and will shop for more Aetrex shoes in the future.

I love these! They were keepers the minute I slipped them on! They are pretty and oh so comfortable! To me it feels like the heel is lower than the mid part of the shoe--a different feeling, but it's not a problem. They have enough support and traction, and they accomodate my bilateral bunions, so I'm happy! Much more stylish with skirts and dresses than my usual Merrell Breeze shoes, but just as comfortable.

They feel wonderful. My feet are not sore or tired after wearing them all day. I was a little concerned because I have bunions but they don’t bother my bunions at all

I bought a pair of Aetrex sandals at the beginning of summer and loved them. These were even better - soft comfortable footbed with good support and nice style. I have to wear shoes with good arch support and the hard clogs recommended by my podiatrist hurt my feet. The only thing I don’t love about these is that the heel strap is not adjustable. It does give (elastic) but I can’t make it tighter.

when you first put these on they are comfortable but after a few minutes and your weight flattens the cushion support they are kind of hard. Sorry but I had to return these.

I was excited to try this brand, after hearing it was recommended for arch-needers. This was about the summer style I was looking for, but this shoe felt rather minimal as far as substance under the foot. Too little between my feet and the ground. The arch insole wasn't that impressive, either. I could tell that I wouldn't be able to wear these for very long at a time. Cute, earthy style though!

I'm 62 with lots of foot issues yet, working in PR, I need funky/fun shoes. Though I need a stiff-soled, rocker shoe, this little shoe is AMAZING!! I put it on just to test the fit, and ended up wearing them the rest of the day! They're incredibly comfortable, have great arch support, and the cork sole and open heel make it fun!! Love this shoe!! Only wish it came in livelier colors--red, etc. I got it in the color "iron," and it goes with brown, black, gray and navy--blends with everything I wear. A+ for comfort, too! Because they're lightweight yet supportive, I can wear these for hours; like walking in pillows.

I have over prone arches (which often hurt), everyone in the family does, and I have may different kinds of supports, but prefer to wear great shoes that do not need them like Aetrex Mary Janes. I am a librarian. Up and down all day constantly moving and carrying books. My feet love these shoes.

I got these shoes one week ago and absolutely love them! They do have a very wide toe box, which I love. The sole of these shoes is so comfortable! And the cork footbed will make them get more customized to my feel over time and even more comfortable. There is one thing that I do not love, and the reason that they got four starts instead of six. The heel strap of the left shoe is lower than the right and it rubs when I walk, pulling down my socks every time. This is very annoying. Since I already wore them, I cannot return otherwise I would try a different pair to see if it is only this left shoe with the problem. I do wish that I could exchange them for another pair.

This shoe is sooo comfortable and I like the cut out design in the leather. I have a pair of Aetrex sandals that are also unbelievably comfortable. I wore my sandals all summer and they look like new. I was expecting the same quality of wear with these Aetrex Cheryl Mary Janes but I am very disappointed. I decided to wear them for the first time this morning. I put them on at 8 a.m. and drove 1/2 hour to pick up my granddaughter and drove the 1/2 hour back home. I sat in a chair while feeding her and then sat on a carpeted floor playing with her before putting her down for a nap at 11. I looked down at my very comfortable new shoes after putting her to bed and saw scratch marks on the toes of both shoes. I took them off to inspect them more closely. I can't imagine how they could have gotten scratched but sadly decided they were going back. :/ I will still buy Aetrex shoes but will watch the materials they are made out of.

I ordered this shoe in two sizes (9.5 and 10), figuring one of them had to work. Sadly, the 9.5 was too short and the 10 was too long. There was no way to tighten the heel on the 10 to make that size work. I also could not tighten the strap enough on the shoe. However, aside from the length, the medium size was more than ample for me (I usually order Wide). In addition, the shoe was lightweight which I prefer, and the footbed so comfortable, that it is with regret that I have to send both sizes back. Too bad the lengths did not work!

I REALLY wanted to love these shoes. I think they are super cute and hoped they would be comfy. I order a LOT of shoes online and know almost immediately if they are going to work with my super challenging foot problems. At first blush, they felt perfect but I had no socks on. When I added the socks into the mix, I became concerned. They tightened up significantly so I wore them around the house for about an hour. After the hour was up, I knew I couldn’t keep them. My foot felt swollen and the shoe was just too small. Total bummer. If it was 1/2 size larger, they would have been keepers. Unfortunately, Aetrex didn’t have a 10 1/2 so I had to send them back.

This is my second black pair. Just love it. I also have a brown too. Real comfy.

Fit absolutely perfectly, super comfortable. They make my feet look smaller, somehow. The style is a bit childish, but I like it anyway.

These shoes were comfortable from the minute I put them on.... no breaking in. They are now my everyday, everywhere shoes.

The color was more brown than grey/steel and I wanted black but they were sold out so I thought I'd try the steel grey color but I did not want brown and they look brown. Hopefully I will be able to order the black in the near future as I do like the shoe.

These shoes fit great. The shoe has a Velcro strap that is slightly adjustable. The shoes are very comfortable and look good too!
