Great looking out of the box. A LOT of compliments. However, the heel wears down quickly down to the wood in the back. As well, the entire heel cap design is actually "printed" on and will wear out quickly. You can not fix this with polish etc. as again it is printed on to give that layered look. The leather itself is great, rarely needing too much attention other than regular maintenance. Laces are ok as well.

These shoes look and feel great! They have a great pattern and are extremely stylish with the blue laces. My only complaint is that they break down really fast. I have already worn holes in the inside walls after a couple months of wear.
I'd also recommend:

The order delivered late, rescheduled twice. The shipping box was much larger than a shoe box. Inside was an extra shoe box full of trash. Why would you ship trash to your customer? Also missing the shoe laces. Shoes fit nice, not the best experience.

Shoe is cheaply made not what I expected. I wore the shoes once so I can't return them. Feels like plastic versus leather

Beautiful shoe. I would purchase 1/2 size larger than you normally wear as it helps witrh width mid foot/arch as it is narrower toe box.

The shoes fit well and looked sharp. However before wearing them, when I inspected the shoes I noticed the soles showed sign signs of previous wear. Had I not needed them for an upcoming wedding I would have returned them as I didn't order a pair of what I considered to be used shoes. Regrettably I can not recommend your shoe products to anyone and I don't intend to purchase any more shoes from Johnston & Murphy.

I love the style of this shoe. But it doesn't come close to being an 11W. Very disappointed.

Seems the quality of this shoe is not what it used to be. I have a brown pair that's about 2 years old that is much better constructed.

The shoes are a great fit but after walking about a mile in the city, I found them painful to wear. There is absolutely no cushion...it is like having steel plates tied to my feet.

Like the look but that's where the compliments end Leather felt cheap, scuff mark on shoe and painfully uncomfortable. No doubt these are going back. If this is the quality of a J&M shoes I'll have to start looking elsewhere

Out of all myJM shoes, this Conard was not comfy. After 6 months it started pinching my toes. I used a shoe stretcher and conditioner you be to no avail. I returned them sadly. It is a beautiful shoe, nice details and two sets of laces. Dresses up or down. Classy look. Just wasn't comfy. The Conard sole was hard, no cushion. Much prefer a leather sole like the Clayton. I also like the Decaturs even though the sole is rubber.. I think you should make sure your fit is right before you buy these cap toes.

The shoes are outstanding and comfortable after wearing them for one week. The bad thing is the blue shoe strings are coming apart after one week with white cotton coming out between the threads. Great shoes look really bad with the poor quality blue shoe strings coming apart.

I've had J&M shoes for a while now, but this model was very disappointing. After about 10 times of wearing them, the right shoe just came apart...the leather tore where it connects to the sole. The rest of the show looks almost new, but can't wear them with a big rip on the side.

Very disappointed in the quality. I have been a loyal Johnston Murphy for so many years and now the entire shoe is not leather at all. I am not sure I will continue to purchase shoes from you anymore! Very Sad and disappointing!!!

Sizing runs horrendously large. I bought 1.5 sizes down and the shoe was still a little loose.

I love the look of these shoes. I had a pair of size 12 in brown that were the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn. So I bought the black in the same size, thinking they would also be perfect, and they are too big. Unfortunately I'm stuck with them now because I've already worn them outside.

Something about this shoe gave me wicked blisters on my heels. That hasn't been a problem for me in the past. Very disappointed with this purchase.

I'm not happy the shoe fits fine, but are extremely noisy, I'm not sure why, but plant to call for solution prior to returning, I'm hoping someone will reach out to me and offer solution, I have ordered this shoes before with no problem..the noise or crackles the shoe makes would be imbarrasing should I wear them..I am a longtime customer and never had this problem with JM shoe

One of the most disappointing pair of shoes I have ever purchased. I got these shoes from Zappos about one year ago. I only wore them maybe once every other week. To begin with, the brown rim of the sole banged up really easy making the shoes look worn and old after just a couple of times wearing them. Secondly, they were pretty uncomfortable to begin with and my heels hurt after wearing them all day. Last but not least, there are two staples were your heel touches the shoe. Those are not protruding and are digging into my heel.
