I'm a medical student and have many friends who rave about Danskos for long hours of standing in the OR. These were expensive for me, and to be honest I think they're ugly, but I'm glad I caved. Aesthetics don't matter if they help me get through a 16-hour day on my feet. To fit properly, the back of the shoe should not touch your heel - I was told to think of them as a open-back clog. The heel is just built to keep the shoe from falling off rather than for actual support on the back of your heel. Your heel should naturally slip out as your walk; this is not as uncomfortable as it sounds and I found it easy to get used to. The collar should not be tight. Since your heel will slip out, the collar is what keeps the shoe on. If it's too tight, the top of your foot will be sore at the end of the day. Err on the side of too big rather than too small. I usually wear a size 8-8.5, but I did have to size up to a 40. The only thing I had to get used to was the slight awkwardness of such a clunky design. They are heavier than most of my other shoes, but once you wear them a few times, you stop noticing. Overall, they have already earned their keep and I'm happy with them.

They are the only shoes I can wear on 24 hour call without having back and plantar fasciitis pain for days after. Pros: very supportive, the rocking motion does propel you forward when tired .Cons: heavy and if you run in them - big risk of turning ankle!

I have very wide feet. Wore Dansko Professionals for a very long time and then suddenly they were too tight across the top of my foot. I was about to give up on Dansko, reluctantly, but thought I'd give XP a try. Soooo glad I did! I ordered 2 pairs. One regular and one wide width. Believe it or not the regular fit perfectly and the wide was actually a little sloppy. So happy I gave Dansko another try. Totally worth every penny for how good my feet feel.

These shoes ran small for me. I was really looking forward to wearing them right away for my new job but they are just too tight and pinch my toes on the end. I always wear a size 9 normal width, sometimes even 8.5, but the 39 in these were just too small to work. I exchanged for the next size up and hopefully they will be perfect. Otherwise, the arch support is really great and I can tell they will be comfortable at work when standing and walking the majority of the day - that is if the next size is right.

This is my first pair of Dansko's. I normally wear a 6.5, so I ordered the 37 size based upon the sizing instructions. I found the fit just too sloppy and unstable, so I re-ordered a 36 and the fit is excellent. I had foot surgery a few years ago and need good arch support which the Pro XP offers. Tried the Professional (which is cheaper), but it didn't feel secure enough on my footbed. The Pro XP also features a removal insole! A big plus as I plan to have custom orthotics made for this pricey shoe. :)

I bumped up to the XP model this go around (I am a chronic Dansko wearer) and I am LOVIN' IT! they seem to have a bit more support and my fifty year old dogs appreciate any extra they can get.

I wear Dansko at work standing in an operating room. This is my first pair of XP, love them! My feet and legs still feel good at the end of a long day. Super cute too!

First, let me say that I have had bunions removed from both feet and have painful osteoarthritis in all my toes. I researched the Dansko line for three months. The first positive point is that these shoes are podiatrist recommended, I knew I needed to give these shoes a try. Stopped in at a Nursing Store and tried on pair. I am a 9 regular which would be 39 in Dansko size. It was too small, but the 40 was perfect! Went to Cabella's of all places and tried on a 40 there, another great fit. Pondered on the price - there is a good reason these are not reduced very often. Zappos makes buying shoes a happy experience, and I had my shoes quickly. My findings are based on the size 40 I ordered. I was impressed by the style and quality of the shoe. I wore them the first day for 4 hours. I actually had to learn how to walk in them, there is a gap the width of your pinky and my foot moves up and down in the back when I walk which is not a problem. These were my first pair. I noticed immediately after wearing them I had NO pain in my toes. By the 3rd wearing, I noticed my posture had greatly improved also. I'm hooked! By the way, I'm 60, a housewife & mother, and on my feet quite a bit.

As a professional Chef, I have always worn Dansko Clogs in the kitchen. This is my second pair of the Pro XP's. The non-slip tread lasted a solid 2 years with constant wear. The leather around the outside of my old pair only recently started to degrade. Dansko clogs for life! I just wish Dansko would come out with some cooler patterns.

I've been wearing my first pair of Dansko for 10 years. The first 5 years, as a school nurse & student, I wore them practically daily; they look worn but still functional, even with a cracked sole. I finally purchased the Pro XP based on reports from other reviews, & in a wide because I need a wider toe box. The new ones have comparable arch support and are quite comfortable. The sole is a harder material, but still flexible. I still wear a 39: Though the new are slightly longer when placed side-by-side the old, this does not present a problem. Dansko continues to make a very good product.

Absolutely love the style and amazing comfort of these Dansko Pro XPs. But after my first wearing they looked very worn as the toe boxes looked very worn away. I am a teacher, and they is no reason for the to look so very used after one use.

WAIT FOR THE XP 2.0!!!!! I have owned 4 pairs of Dansko clogs in 15 years. The first pair was regular Professional...like walking on a wood board all day, but convenient to put on and VERY durable. The second and third pair were the XP's..better, but between the 2nd XP (insert was cushiony--like walking on pillows) the 3rd pair they changed the insert...it was still comfortable, but not like the 2nd pair. Then I was due for the latest pair which I bought today...the XP 2.0...HOLY SMOKES!! It is lighter and the insert is like the 2nd pair long ago, but with WAY MORE cushion...SO i BOUGHT 2 since it never ceases to amaze me that companies always change something that is always good! PLEASE DON'T CHANGE THIS ONE AND RUIN IT! Very sturdy and solid. Beware the staples will scratch your paint on the rocker panel as you get in and out of your car. A+ LIKE WALKING ON CLOUDS...YAY! I walk the dog with these on, too.

I am a nurse and am on my feet all day and these help a ton with my heel pain. They take just a little bit to get used to because of the "heel slip" they have to help with heel pressure. Overall love these shoes and are a must for people on their feet all day!

Finally got a pair of Dansko clogs after hearing great things from many people. It's true, they're not the most attractive shoes ever and they are a bit heavier than what I'm used to, but they are incredibly comfortable ALL day. If you have to walk/stand all day, these are the shoes for you. Make sure to read the fit info - your heel should come up in the back when you walk. If you get them too small, the collar will hurt the top of your foot. Excellent service from Zappos, as usual.

This is my second pair of Dansko clogs, the first pair lasted 15 years. I ordered the same size as my old ones, these new ones seem just a little bit bigger. I might try the next size down if I order another pair. Love the color, it's a very dark grey, I thought it was black when I opened the box but when I wear them with grey or navy blue pants they look great. Even though they are slightly larger than I expected, they are extremely comfortable and don't feel like they are going to slip off. The arch support is excellent and they are comfortable for walking.

I love Dansko and have the professional line. The XP runs bigger than the Pro. My foot felt loose in the shoe; wiggled around a lot. I wear 9½ so I ordered 40 but 39 would have been better. Dansko allows me to work long hours on my feet without the knee and back pain I usually endure. I am going to try their dress shoes next to see if they are as effective.

This is my second pair of Dansko Pro XP clogs. I wore my first pair for a year-and-a-half and wanted a different color. I got the black tooled, and they look great. They're comfortable with no break-in period. I'm in healthcare, so I'm on my feet all day, and my feet don't hurt at the end of the day. I'll continue getting the XP's because they have more cushion and are more comfortable than the regular Danskos. I wear a size 7 and wear a size 37 in these shoes.

I love these shoes. I wear a size 7, and I first ordered these from another site in the size 37. They were huge, and I could hardly keep them on my feet. Also, the free 2 day shipping ran into 8 days before I received my order from them. My order from Zappos arrived promptly as promised. I ordered the size 36 and they fit perfectly. There seems to be a big discrepancy in the Dansko sizes, but now that I have the right size, I really love these shoes:so comfortable!

The Dansko Pro XP shoes are working out great for me. I first ordered a size larger, then easily returned them and ordered these . I have flat feet and work on my feet all day. I don't do well with flat shoes. These are very comfortable, and I have room to wiggle my toes in them. I get a lot of comments on the patent finish with the black and white check pattern.

My first pair lasted six years, worn at least every other day during that time. These shoes are one of the few I can wear that support my arch enough that I don't get foot pain and that don't cause pain in an otherwise troublesome bunion. Look great with jeans and give me a little extra height as a bonus.

I ordered this shoe in the black, tooled floral, Pro XP. I already own 4 other pairs of Danskos and I was hoping to enjoy this one, but after wearing them for a while, I've decided I can't keep them. While the footbed is quite comfortable, the top of the shoe is SOOOOO stiff and hard that it hurts the tops of my toes! My other complaint is that these shoes are SOOOO heavy. I'm a school teacher and walk around on a tile floor all day and I can't help but to feel that I'm just clunking around in these shoes. I am sending them back and going to try another model that's not an XP and see if I can find a better fit for me.

Very good arch support for working in the hospital setting where you are on your feet for a long period of time. Great shoe for anyone who has to be on your feet for long periods of time.

Great Fit! As a nurse I can stand for all 12 hours if I need to in these Clogs

This is my first pair of Danskos. They didn't feel too stiff out of the box but it took me a week or two to break them in. They molded to my foot and provide decent support. I find them comfortable through most 12-hour shifts. Not great for running to a code but good otherwise. I have a normal to wide foot and tried the 36R and 36W. The 36W (which is 5.5-6) fit more like a 6.5 so I kept the regular width.

Love Dansko XP wide!
