Was extremely disappointed in The North Face warranty of my winter boots. 12 months on footwear! Literally, the seam broke away from the rubber on my very "cared for" boots. That's too much $ down the drain! I think I'll seek a different brand this time!

I have a pair of old North Face boots, which I believe are the Snow Drift model. In any case, they have PRIMALOFT 400 GRAM INSULATION stitched on the inside of the tongue. After years of loyal service they have become rather beaten up, so I tried to buy another pair, but that model is no longer available. Since they keep my feet toasty warm for extended periods at -25C, I assumed that a similar North Face boot with 400 grams of insulation would work well, so I bought the Women's Chilkat 400 boots. I was quite shocked to find that, while they keep my ankles warm, my toes are extremely cold even at only a few degrees below zero. I have had to purchase battery-heated socks to make up for the dramatically poor performance of the Chilkat 400. To say they are a disappointment is a significant understatement.

These were WAY too small and I ordered a half size up as well as a full size up. I don't know what size I would need-- maybe 3 or 4 sizes up? Ridiculous.

Ordered a 9.5 and it was too tight in the toe box for my comfort. Liking everything else about the boot, I turned around and exchanged it for a size 10. Tried on the 10 and it feels EXACTLY like the 9.5. Returned and will not reordering. So disappointed as the boot itself is a great looking shoe, but for my wider 9.5 feet, the design of this particular style is not meant to be.

Bought similar NF Chilkats a few years ago for winter sports-hiking, snowshoeing. I've probably used them less than 20 times and stored them in the original box in my closet after cleaning and drying them. After snowshoeing today, I discovered the left boot had cracked horribly in the rubber area completely across the instep. Online research showed this to be an issue. I guess I shouldn't have stored it in the box. The boots, apparently need to breath. Buyers beware.

Bought these in black for work. Wore them for the first time yesterday for 6 hours in the snow in 30 degree temperature & was very disappointed. My toes became very cold & wet.So much for being "waterproof" & warm, description is misleading. Other than that they are stylish & comfortable for the most part, but will not work for me. Decided to give North Face a try after wearing Columbia for years.

Toe box completely shattered on a hike in the snow. Boots will now be unwearable. Upon reviewing others' comments, I am not alone on this problem. Northface needs to address this problem, Will be looking to another brand fro a replacement.

I purchased the off white, lighter colored boot last year, but had to return them when they were too tight and they didn't have a size up. I ordered the same boot this year in a half size up and the boot that was sent was nothing like what I had last year. What I received in 2016 looked exactly like the picture. The 2017 boot is more brown and missing all the fluff that you see in the picture. The fluff that I experienced the first go around. Furthermore, the half size up is now too big. False advertising for sure.

Not only did these fall apart, shatter in the toes, and split down the length of the entire boot (both boots), TNF will not stand behind their product, as they are just over one year old. Terrible disappointment.

these boots were fine when i first purchased them. i've had a pair for several years. i do not actually live in a place with much snow and have worn them maybe 8 times, tops. this past weekend, i made the mistake of thinking they could come out of my closet for some snow tromping -- bad plan! the toe box rubber/plastic cover with just a very few steps, completely shattered, crumbled. this is not a wear and tear issue, this is a defect issue. when contacted, n.f. states their 1 year limited warranty on shoes, sorry, can't help you. i would buy any other similar style, non-n.f. brand shoe before i would buy these. even if i could get another pair for free, who wants a shoe that will break apart when you need it the most? i've checked on line, and it has been a recurring problem, which seems to be receiving little support for unsuspecting customers. the common advice given being, you can't store them, you need to wear them a lot. hmmmm...well that sucks.

Got these as a gift. The person buying them used the size chart which said to buy a size smaller and they were entirely too small. I wear a size10.5, I got them on but lost circulation in my feet. Had to return them. I wish they were available in a size 12. That would be perfect. Maybe I have to buy men's boots.

The boots look nice, but after wearing for a short time I had to take them off in the hotel lobby and walk barefoot to my room. They have a hard bulge in the lining just above the ankle that ended up rubbing a raw spot on my leg.

Purchased essentially this exact model for my wife from Northface a few years ago. We ended up having to leave the state for military service but when we came back she put the boots on for the winter and the first trek outside the rubber/plastic waterproofing shattered into pieces! Very disappointed. The boots were only worn a couple time and still look new except the material in the toes cracked and shattered.

My wife had a pair of these for about 10 years. They dry-rotted and ripped at the rubber and she wanted the same pair. We ordered them but they were 1-1.5 sizes too small, she couldn't get her foot in.

I purchased these boots before my trip to New Mexico. I was specifically looking for waterproof boots and these ones seemed to fit the bill. However, after only 40 minutes of hiking in the mountains (and we were not even hiking in the deep snow, but walked on the road) my feet were wet and freezing. I was so glad that it was just a short hike and not an overnight camping trip in the mountains. I decided to give these boots a second chance and wore them in nyc - the same story. My feet were wet and freezing after just half an hour outside. Will be returning these boots. A huge disappointment.

Not impressed - I expect more from North Face - boots very comfortable and feel like wearing ski boots also they don't keep the bottom of your feet warm. The ankle and tops yes but not the important part, the base of the foot. Wish I could return these and wish I had bought them at Nordstroms as they have a super return policy. Don't waste your money.

I am finding it very difficult to answer the questions about arch support and width because I could not get my feet inside the boots. I ordered a size 8, my usual size, but the padding inside was so plush and thick, I l literally could not get my feet inside the boots! I am sure that it is quite warm due to all that padding but to no avail if I cannot wear them. Rating low in overall and comfort as a result. These are good looking boots but I have no choice but to send them back.

I bought this product for snow, but when I tried them on it made my feet look humongous. I have small feet. I am usually a size 5.5 or 6. I got 6.5 and it looked big.

This boot would be probably good for snowboarding. I ordered a 1/2 size bigger to have some sock room but it still feels a size and a half smaller! (I am size 7 1/2 but the boot feels like a size 6). And from the outside it looks like I am wearing a nine, boots looks so huge and bulky. Very disappointed. So it's a one star for me.

I usually wear 6.5 to 7 but based on prior reviews, I ordered size 7.5. Wow: these boots are too small, even in 7.5! I will try in an 8 because I want the functionality but am concerned about the sizing. If the 8's fit, I might recommend but for now, I can't because I don't know if these will fit.

These boots were great. They fit well and are warm. However, the rubber foot section degrades with time. Our pair had been worn a couple of times, then went into the closet for a couple of years. My daughter recently wore them again to walk to class, and the entire toe box section of the boot split open. I have many pair of Sorel and other brands that are used seasonally or infrequently, and have never had something like this happen. Do not expect the normal North Face quality with this product, and beware, TNF warranty on footwear is only a year.
