These really are soft! Love how the ankle top is fitted close to the leg and the top edge does not cut into the front of my leg like so many other ankle boots do. Size 10 wide feet. Left foot is more difficult to fit and I usually upsize to 11s and put in orthotics and Spenco foam liners. But I stepped right out of all size 11 ankle boots. These have a wider footbed than any other brand I tried. (Ecco, Born, Clarks.) I bought ankle boots with good leather to wear for European city travel in December. Miles of walking every day. Dinner at better restaurants in the evening with no chance to change. The only reason I didn't give these 5 stars is that the seam on the heel is sharp so I have to wear thicker socks.

I have lots of foot problems - neuropathy, deformity. Buying shoes is hard. The first time I ordered these, they were too narrow. I have never worn a wide, but I tried it. They fit great. And I was able to pull the inserts out (even though they are lightly attached) and put my orthotics in. I am so happy with these shoes. I hope they keep making these.

Cute enough to wear with tights and a casual pencil skirt, comfortable for all-day tourist walking but they crushed my bunions. I bought these to wear with skirts and pants as a walking shoe that would transition from day to night - tourist walking around cities during the day and then dinner at night - but where they bend is exactly where they crushed my bunions so I'm returning them.

Very nice quality, soft leather, comfortable without breaking in. I have medium width feet with bunions, and usually wear medium or wide shoes. I had to exchange the wide width in these boots for the EE. They are good for casual or a little bit dressy.

This boot was quite comfortable but just a tiny bit too narrow for my feet. I wore them in my house for maybe half an hour and I could feel the outsides of both of my feet rubbing in a way that would be horribly uncomfortable after very much more time passed. The soles were very cushy, but because of the rubbing, I am returning them. The boots are cute but I don't love them enough to reorder in a larger size.

I bought these in a hopeful rush for a trip to Chicagon during the fall. I wanted a simple, chic boot with a flexible sole that could handle a lot of walking. I should also say that I'm almost 8 months pregnant, so comfort was paramount. These did not disappoint! They were very comfortable right out of the box, so I took a risk and they were the only shoes I packed for a week-long trip. I also tried a more traditional Chelsea boot but found the leather too inflexible and the sole not supportive enough. We walked an average of 3-4 miles each day, covering a lot of Chicago pavement. I wore the boots with tights and skirts, dresses, jeans...the boots were versatile, lightweight, and warm. I really like the bit of ruching on the ankle--gives it a bit of a style slouch without changing the shape of the boot. So happy I found these--hopefully they will be a travel staple for a long time!

Come on SoftWalk....make a longer lasting sole and I will give you 5 stars! I love these shoes so much that I was actually thinking of purchasing another pair even though after one year exactly the bottom sole is already splitting apart near the heel. I'm super bummed because these are probably the most comfortable shoes I own. You would think spending $140 dollars on a pair of shoes would get you a longer lasting sole. These really are fantastic. I just moved from the south to the north and needed something closed-toe/work-appropriate. I also have wide, flat feet so I am very hard to fit. These are hands down the most comfortable boots I've purchased. They are butter soft leather. Would highly recommend.

Comfortable and stylish, but the sole started coming off after barely 1 month of use, which is unacceptable for $150 shoes. I sincerely hope Zappos processes my return...

I love this ankle boot. Great comfortable fit. I wear a 9.5 WW width and it was just right. No toe crunching. Soft leather. Real leather. Durable. Zipper easy to maneuver. Looks classy but still can be worn with casual attire. Arch support is solid. I am hard on my footwear and this pair of boots is up to the challenge.

Very happy with these boots. Ordered the Wide as suggested in other reviews, and that turned out to be correct. My feet are bony, and I wouldn't typically need a wide, but in this case, they fit perfectly. Comfy in the toe but not too much gap at the ankle. Very cute and practical.

I splurged on these boots because, due to an ankle break last year, I need super flat boots. They were great for that, and I wore them to work daily. However, the sole started peeling off after several months of daily wear, as well as wearing through so that the soles had multiple holes on each foot. Spending that much for shoes, especially ones with such a nice soft leather upper, I expected them to last longer.

i love these little boots! the leather is amazingly soft, really outstanding quality. not many nonathletic shoes come in extra wide! i rip out the insole and use custom orthotics with these - my first pair accidentally came with insoles that weren't glued in, so i happened to know that these fit me well. typically the insoles are glued down, but not so strongly that you can't rip them out easily (but the insoles may rip in the process, so they might not be returnable FYI). i find that with the extra width, i typically go down a half size in SoftWalks. seriously, these are impossibly cute and useful. i treated them with beeswax waterproofing and they took it perfectly.

I LOVE these boots! The are really soft and comfortable. I first ordered a size 8 - my normal size and a wide. While they fit comfortably in my bare feet, I wanted to make sure that I could have socks on. I ordered a size 9 wide and they fit perfectly with socks. No breakin time was needed. I purchased a cheaper pair of boots at a local store and the "leather" was so stiff. These are just so perfect! They are worth the price. The return policy at Zappos was great - I sent back the incorrect ones and had new ones delivered.

I love these boots. They are very comfortable and run true to size. However, the soles wore out to the point of creating holes in the heels within four months and I did not wear them all the time! Unfortunately, they are not worth the money.

I just finished breaking in these boots & they form fitted to my foot almost immediately. They were perhaps the easiest boots to break in that I've ever had. The quality leather is yummy, like a good kid glove.

These boots are very high quality...the leather is very soft. One complaint is that the ankle is fairly narrow, even in the wide size, so not as loose as I'd prefer, but still totally wearable. I ordered them because I needed something that was absolutely flat...and these are...but that means little arch support. I'd definitely order them again and recommend them to others! Well worth the money.

Right out of the box these are great! Soft as butter, and just adorable. I have horrible problematic feet, so I ordered them in wide (thank you Softwalk!). I was able to fit the orthotic in them so my feet are super comfy. No break in needed. Love them and getting both colors.

I thought these were nice boots. I have a high instep and use orthotics, unfortunately that combination makes the boot fit a bit too snug for me. I think the leather is really soft and probably over some time stretch.

I wanted a relatively flat leather ankle boot that was both attractive and comfortable. This boot is exactly what I was looking for! I liked it so much I also ordered a pair in brown.

I absolutely love these boots! I am so glad that I read the reviews though because they said that they run a little narrow. So I ordered the next higher width and they are so comfortable.

I bought these for my Mom who wears a 7 1/2 shoe size but has bunions. The wide size was fine for her. She wanted a bootie but didn't trust herself with a heel. They're stylish and very comfortable.

Very comfortable. I ordered a wide width & they couldn't be more perfect. I also get a lot of compliments. I wear these with my jeans & also with a skirt & tights.

I am now on my fourth pair of these Softwalk Hanover shoes. It seems they have redesigned these...for the better, surprisingly! Quality has always been an issue with this shoe, as I've worn through two pairs of them. I always give it a 5 star rating, though, because it's amazingly comfortable and they look great. When I ordered this fourth pair, I was pleasantly surprised to find that the insoles are now removable, so I can use my custom orthotics in them, which is a huge plus. The leather also seems thicker and better quality than my former pairs.

My foot is size 7 1/2 and the length of these boots was spot-on. My second toe is also slightly longer than my big toe and the boots fit it comfortably. I ordered the W (wide) width, and it is just wide enough. My foot is medium-wide. The width of these boots felt comparable to a Merrell medium width sandal, which also is just wide enough for my foot. The boots are made of soft, pliable leather and are very flexible and comfortable. The sole provides plenty of shock absorption. The tread does not seem to be very deep though. The arch support is noticeable, and I have a fairly high arch. The zipper works very easily. The boots are really attractive and are by far the nicest I have owned. The flexibility and rubber sole really make them, for me and I love Napa leather because it is so soft and supple.
