Nice winter boot

Nice looking boot but was disappointed when I tried them on. The shaft is made of fabric and the felt liner inside was slouchy. It rubbed the back of my heal. I got a blister just walking around the house in the boots. Would not recommend these boots.

Terrible. Too big. Flopped all over my feet and gave me blisters after a simple 1-hour walk. Company needs to get its act together on sizing. I wear a 7 or 6.5 in any other brand of shoe. These I would need to have ordered a 5.5 to fit properly. Too late now. They also don’t lace up high enough at all. Waste of money.

Got these for my girl friend and she loves them. She says they felt a half size big but wants to be able to wear winter socks with them and not have to wrestle them off when she comes in from shoveling etc.

I was looking for a stiff sole boot (recommended by doctor). If that's what you're looking for, this sole is not stiff. The Joan of Arc boot is and that's what I ended up keeping.

I have been on an odyssey of winter boot research and shudder to think of how many hours I spent online hunting/reading through reviews, so when I made my purchase I really, really wanted to love these boots. The good points: they are solidly made (though a little clunky to walk in) offer excellent insulation from the cold/rain/snow, and appear to be a boot that could last many winters. But alas, it wasn't meant to be. The main reason for the low rating and my return of these boots is as others have commented: the ankle area is disproportionally designed, resulting in constant rubbing and some terrible blisters at the back of my ankle. To note: I do not have particularly thin or thick ankles, and have never experienced this type of blister from rubbing. I tested two shoe sizes, tried re-lacing it to varying degrees of tightness, experimented with wearing thin socks, thick socks, cotton socks vs wool socks...nothing worked. I ended up purchasing the Merrell Tremblant boot, which has been perfect for me. As an aside: Zappos customer support has been fantastic throughout the whole process, and continues to earn my loyalty.

Great boots! Bought myself and my daughter a pair. We both love them.

My left foot is slightly bigger than my right foot, but I usually wear a size 8. In an 8, the right foot fit perfectly, and the left foot was a little tight and therefore difficult to get on/off. I really had to loosen the shoelaces near the bottom quite a bit in order to get these on. But once on, they feel great, look great! I think these are a more practical/less expensive version than the Joan of Arc.

Really cute, but sort of clunky. I am a solid 6 in boots, and this shoe felt huge on me--at least 1/2 or maybe a full size larger than I expected it to feel, and I would need to size down so they don't feel like flippers (for comparison, I am a 6.5 in the Slimpback Lace model, so this would be a full size difference within the brand). I have a wider than average toe box, and my feet were swimming in the Carnival. I purchased inserts for comfort, but it still didn't change how huge they felt. There is no arch support (and I do not need much). Overall really cute and warm, but would definitely size down from your normal shoe size.

Beautiful winter boot BUT had to return (2 times) because kept fitting too small. I needed a wider boot also, especially for the toes.

I love the look of these! They are slightly big but not a problem to add an extra pair of socks even though they are not needed because they are super warm. My feet are always cold and have yet to be cold in the 20 degrees I am living in right now.

I usually wear an 8 but in Sorels I always size down. 7.5 fits perfectly for me in these shoes, with or without think socks. I agree with another reviewer about how warm they are- you really don't need thick wool socks for your feet to stay warm, even on 20 degree Chicago winter days. I got the blue ones and the color on the screen really is true to life. These shoes are super comfortable to walk in and not as clunky or awkward as some other winter boots. Overall, I'm happy with the purchase, esp. since they're pretty easy to put on and take off.

Very cute boots but my heel flopped right out of it even after sizing down. A smaller size would’ve been too short. I usually wear a size 9 in a ballet flat and a 9 1/2 in a athletic shoe. I ordered the 9 and much too wide and not very soft and comfy either
