Comfortable and warm

Comfortable and durable. Repels the rain and weather very well. Excellent product! I would definetly recommend this product to a friend.

Have had one of these for several years but it started to fade so I bought another. The new one is different in two aspects; 1. No inside pockets, 2. The zipper has a different wind flap design at the top that will take some getting used to so it won't jam. I gave the first jacket a 5 but these two changes were not improvements so I gave this one a 4. Still an excellent all-around jacket!

Very poor quality. Flimsy zippers and paper thin.

This jacket was very nice and the right length for my 6"3 nephew

Great lightweight jacket with wind blocking and water resistant features

I haven't had the best of luck with Softshells in the past, this item has however exceeded my expectations. I've never had a situation where this jacket has let me down, and I recommend it every chance I get. Columbia, you got it right this time.

The Style and Color select is Good but not satisfied with how small the size runs and with the Velcro Straps on the sleeves.

Perfect fit for a layer or by itself, well made and versatile, looks crisp and new every time

Love this jacket...we purchased them for all of our employees and are having our logo embroidered on them. They are great!

the collar is way taller and makes the jacket looks a bit awkward.

Black is the new black. I love everything about this jacket... The zipper pockets, adjustable waist & sleeves, all black. It's waterproof & goes with everything... Casual & dressy at the same time. Love it!

I had a comparable jacket of Columbia for years and it was my favorite. Somehow I lost it last year so I replaced it this year with what looked to be the same. 90% of the jacket is the same but now the arms are fleece lined and I HATE that feature. It grabs on any long sleeve shirt you are wearing when you put the coat on and the static when you take it off could power a small village. Bums me out every day as it is still the coat I'm going to wear 80% of the time but the sleeves drive me nuts. Don't really like the adjustable closures at the sleeve ends either but I'll just have to toughen up I guess.

It wasn't as warm as I had hoped. I have an Omni-shield Columbia that I thought would be similar to the Ascender but the sleeve were too baggy for me and lined with a fleece material that made it hard to take on and off without messing up your shirt sleeves. No pockets on the inside either.

Overall it's a great coat! It is absolutely windproof! The only thing is that it's pretty thin. That may be good so it can be stuffed in a bag easily, but I think I would have appreciated more thickness for Pittsburgh winters. It's a little snug around the armpits (that may be due to my regular gym attendance) but otherwise looks and fits great. An inner pocket would be nice too!

The jacket's quality and fit are excellent. Wore the jacket during the recent blizzard that hit the northeastern part of the country; the water repellent features far exceeded my expectations and kept me dry during extended snow shoveling/blowing activities. I was, however, a little disappointed in its ability to be as wind proof as it was water proof, particularly in the arm areas. Overal a very nice jacket.

Great jacket. Could be a little longer but that's my only complaint.

feels just right, feels like you get what you expected for. however, medium size is too big - i'm a man, i used to wear a women softshel size L, and i figured M whould be good - but it was way too big so i returned it and get the small instead - and that's just perfect.

This jacket is warm and comfortable. It is durable and well made. I like that the sleeves are adjustable on the end. I wish it had interior pockets but I can do without that. Excellent Columbia quality

Jacket does have snug fit but not tight. Good quality to it and comfortable. Looks nice enough to wear out on date and tough enough to wear out in the field.
