I loved it!!I bought it for my boyfriend. It is gorgeous!

This jacket keeps the wind out and stays warm. Its also slightly rain-resistant, which makes it perfect for unpredictable weather.

I purchased two of the jackets for gifts. Both recipients really like the jackets and have enjoyed wearing them. These jackets are both functional and attractive.

I got this as a gift for my brother. Just by looking at it, the quality of the jacket looks great.

Loved the jacket, but when following the size guide provided it turned out to be true to size and I had to return for the size I normally wear. I do love the jacket and may get it another color

I searched for months for an unlined softshell jacket, like the Patagonia I had years ago. The only unlined jackets I could find are close-fitting and do not work with shirts. Even though the Ascender is lined, I settled on it because of fit and velcro at the sleeves rather than annoying elastic. The lining of this jacket is light, the fit is great and the velcro sleeve makes it easier for the jacket to fit over a shirt without dragging up my shirt sleeves. The softshell material is great and the jacket appears to be well-constructed. The only reason I didnt give it 5 stars is the lack of inside pockets. If 4.5 stars was an option, that would be my grade.

This is a very stylish jacket with a clean look for everyday our casual office wear. While its fleeced lined it does little to protect from wind or cold. This is for light weight wear and Texas winter. Not for anything below 45.

This is my second Jacket of this style over the course of 15 years. They really last a long time. I still have the old jacket - I use it for outside work, the gym, knockaround, etc. And I use my new one for daily wear since it looks nicer. I am a 6' 1" woman with extra long arms so the women's styles do not fit me. While I'd love to have a more tapered look, the sleeve length of the regular fit size Large fits me best.

Great jacket, so comfortable and soft. When I put it on the first time, I exposed one sleeve under the tap water and the result was absolutely amazing, the water was just repelled by the jacket. It is definitely water and wind proof.

Versatile, lightweight, and waterproof! It's such a nice jacket and it keeps you warm. I highly recommend it!

My daughter got this for my Christmas present, zipper broke on the second time wearing it. Stitching is also coming out. Poor quality not expected from Columbia. Tbh all of the winter 24 line up is bad quality.

Good all purpose travel jacket. Water and wind resistant and room for layers when needed. Hard to find basic, attractive jacket with no hood.

My husband is 61, so I initially bought him the Long version since jackets usually arent long enough in the arms, but that was actually too long! The return process was easy, and we got a regular Large and it fits him perfectly. You can even kind of make it look dressy depending on what you wear but its an excellent jacket - 10/10!

Solid jacket, would recommend buying on a discount or with a gift card.

My husband tried this on and it fits great! Nice weight for mid temperatures. Very comfortable. He's on the shorter side so doesn't like bulky jackets for driving, this is perfect. Very nice quality you come to expect with Columbia.

The Columbia Ascender Softshell is an excellent budget-friendly option for those who need a durable, water-resistant, and windproof jacket for cool to mildly cold weather. Its great for casual wear, hiking, or outdoor adventures but is not a full winter jacket. If you need more warmth, you may want to pair it with an insulated layer.
