Great jacket. Waterproof and doesn't let the wind through.

I've had this jacket for a couple years now and I cannot find a flaw. I work for a construction company as a PM so sometimes I have to meet with clients and sometimes I have to help carrying lumber on my shoulder, crawl through crawlspaces, cut drywall to expect a water leak, walk through debris, etc in the field. It looks great to meet with clients and is durable enough to not get snagged on a nail and rip. A medium fits perfect for my 6' 170lbs frame. Warm enough for the Fall/Spring but not quite for our Wyoming 0 degree winters. I washed it once so far and all of those drywall, grease, etc stains came right out. Just don't dry it, I did, and it shrunk a little bit. Makes me want to buy a new one.

I brought it for my son because he don't like big puffy coat so as for this jacket it's light weight for someone that like this type and style.

This is my 5th purchase. Usually, I buy medium but I have lost some weight so I needed to get small. Small fits great and I like the softshell jackets from Columbia because they are wind and rain resistant. The hood is adjustable which is great for different size heads. Overall, it is a great jacket for all season except when the temperature drops to below freezing. I have hooded and no hood version of this jacket. Both great.

Fits my son well with a little room to grow, hood is really large and without a drawsting makes the hood an awkward fit. Overall my son likes that it's rain resistant and since we live in Seattle,WA it's essential to have a "rain coat'.

I am 6'3 with a lean athletic build. I ordered a size large and it fits well, although it is a little big around my waist/mid-section. This could just be me, though. This jacket is, however, very comfortable to wear. It moves easily with you. It is lightweight and breaths well, while keeping you warm with the inner fleece lining, and dry with the outer soft shell. One downside is that the hood is rather large when up. There are no draw strings so it can be clumsy. It covers more than necessary, but I guess that isn't a bad problem to have. Overall, this is a great jacket and I highly recommend it.

I've owned 3 of this style jackets and I absolutely love them. They've always held up great (I've lost them, they haven't worn out), they're reasonably water resistant, and they simply look sharp. They aren't a sport coat by any means, but they're clean enough to wear out to dinner without getting any ugly looks. My only complaint would be that the arms are a little short, but if they made the arms long enough for me than no one else would wear it. (I'm 6'3", 190lbs, with a a 78" arm span and wear a large).

Very happy with this soft shell jacket. Keeps me warm when outdoors and breathable enough to stay cool indoors. Would recommend to wear slightly colder weather in the Fall!

The Ascender is just what I was looking for. Not too heavy, not too light. Has great pockets and sturdy hood for those windy days. And the color is a good match with my blue jeans !

Great product. Neat color, but hard to tell the exact shade of the color online. Truly water resistant product, yet breathable and super comfortable. Another columbia product that I would highly recommend.

I was slightly worried but the site's description, saying that they run small. I went ahead and ordered a large(the size I typically wear in jackets) and feel like there's just as much room in this jacket as there is in my others. Plenty of room to move yet not so large that I couldn't wear this as a layer under something else or with a couple layers under it either. The jacket looks really sharp and doesn't feel out of place while hiking nor at a nice dinner out. I suspect it wouldn't pass muster at a black tie but it's not meant to. If you're showing up to one of those In This jacket, you'd better be a secret agent with a pack full of spy gadgets...but I digress. The jacket is warm enough to wear alone and really cuts the wind. I'm probably going to retire my old jacket(that was quite a bit more expensive) and use this as my new go to.

This jacket saved me in the middle of December in Quebec. It was snowing and raining and I was more than fine. I would say that this jacket is a real the outdoors product.

I got this for my husband for Christmas. He loves it! He said it really blocks the wind and keeps him warm in our Wyoming weather. Great material, I think it will hold up over time.

This jacket is so nice. It's crazy how warm it is being so thin and stylish. It'll keep you dry and warm and is very comfortable to wear. The inside material is soft and the outer shell is stylish and very well made. I think this jacket will last a very long time.

Great cost effective jacket. Bought one for me and then 3 more for my family. Great shell if it's too cold for the jacket alone. Had it for a year now and it sill looks brand new. Highly recommend it.

The arm size was long, but lucky there is a wrist strap to prevent from looking long. Overall, this is a great jacket for 8-hours hiking. I even wore it to work during a chilly day and to a 3-days New York trip. Excellent waterproof jacket as tiny rain droplets didn't stain and wet the jacket, it just slide off! I wish the jacket have interior zip pockets where I can store backup battery charger and charger cord. But this jacket is the best for everything!

I have lived in Oregon for 10 years and I'm wondering what I was doing without this jacket before now. Wind, rain, cold....it's not getting in! I love everything about this jacket.

This jacket is not too bulky and great for medium rain showers. It does a good job of blocking wind 10-15 mph. The sleeves are a little tight with the Velcro all the way open, but would only be a problem if you are wearing a bulky item under it.
