I've been wearing these shoes for a week in the rain and a little snow. They keep my feet warm and dry! They took two days to break in as they are leather high tops. My only complaint with these shoes is that the foot bed is not very padded and supportive. These shoes look great.

I got the black/tweed color. Very cool looking shoes! Seem very well constructed. Have only worn them in the rain a couple times. So far so good. If you love Vans, you'll love these!

Great shoes. The waterproofing is great for sloppy conditions (rain or sleet). Very warm and very comfortable. I think these will be great once the snow starts coming.

I really like these as an effectively waterproof shoe to wear around in crappy weather. They function like lightweight boots while looking like regular Vans (at least the black leather ones). Two issues: I find the sole, ironically, really slippery on wet surfaces for an all-weather shoe. It may be fine on dirt or asphalt or in snow but I slipped several times on city streets on metal or tile in the rain. It's certainly no Vibram rubber. Also, one of the rear straps used to pull them on broke after on the third use. Still, I like them enough to return that pair for another.

Overall, I like them. Kind of stiff feeling. I also own the Sk8-hi skinny/thin shoes, basic white sneakers, and those are more comfortable-- not nearly as stiff. I wore these once in the rain and had no problem.

The Sk8-Hi is a classic shoe from Vans and this is a great update for the shoe. The shoe is comfortable and cozy. My only gripe is that the black/tweed colorway isn't as water resistant as I had hoped. Water immediately soaks into the shoe rather than rolling off. My feet haven't gotten wet in light rain but I'd like to see more water resistance from a shoe made to do so. Still a solid shoe.

The multi cappuccino color combination looks sick in person. A little more comfortable than regular Vans, the leather is a good suede, and the liner is soft but a little rugged, like the inside of a coat. I love the pull straps at the back, they feel durable. Came with two lace sets, I went with the yellow because they're a good accent and match the collar. So far I can lace them up and leave the top two holes unlaced for pull on pull off removal and I like that. Without them being too loose when they're on I mean, I feel like that's hard to find. After wearing them downtown one night, the back of the sole is already showing some wear so I'm a little disappointed with that but it's worth it for as darn good as they look.

I like these - they are really cute, but I live in Western NY and can't imagine wearing them in really slippery or snowy conditions. Also, I ordered the women's 8 1/2 - which is my normal size and I had to exchange for a 9. Of course Zappos was excellent about sending the new ones quickly. I've been wearing them comfortably a few times so far, but plan to get some insoles for a little more support.

These really keep your feet warm and dry! I live in an area where it rains a lot so these are great to wear on those rainy day. I have not yet worn them in an all out pour though but they work great for moderate rain. The best thing about them is that they are so warm. My toes are never cold! They are also very stylish and people compliment me all the time on them.

They are great shoes,comfortable. I love them, but they are not too warm, sometimes I feel my feet cold.

I ordered a size 5.5mens/ 7 women's in the black suede w/tan stripe and the lining is not shearling. It is more like a car's seat fabric. It is still a fleecy feeling but not as soft and comfortable as the faux shearling that lines the blue version. The fleece lining also stops about where the arch of your foot starts. So the bridge and toe area of this color version are not lined with the fleece. The size 7 had plenty of room in the toebox for my somewhat wide feet. I normally wear a 6.5 or 7 women's shoe. The length was correct/normal for a size 7 as well. The suede is good quality and the style is great. This shoe has eye holes all the way to the top for the laces as compared to some of the color ways having boot hooks for the top two positions.

The entire inside of the shoe is lined with faux fur shearling which is soft and comfortable for my bare feet. I ordered a size 5 men's/6.5 women's and it fit well. I normally wear a 6.5 or 7 women's shoe and have a somewhat wide foot. There was just enough room in the toebox without socks. The length was just right/what I'd expect for a 6.5. The blue suede is a wonderful cadet blue. The tan leather? Trimming the top of the high top is quite stiff and rubs my ankles = not good. I'd order the regular old school version of this instead to avoid the rubbing but it doesn't come in this color way.

Just got these today and they're fantastic, walking around campus in them feels amazing and they go great with any outfit. Awesome buy for the fall/winter seasons.

I really liked these, but they rubbed the side of my foot within minutes of trying them on so I knew they weren't the ones for me.

These are such cute shoes! Unfortunately I oalways wear an 8 so I ordered an 8 & an 8.5 in case they ran small. The 8 was WAY too big in me even with heavy socks. Fortunately they were still available in a 7.5 so hopefully they will be just right!

Wish the tongue inside also had the faux fur lining as that part rubbed again my ankle. The shoelaces are not ones that stay tied unfortunately so they got super dirty being worn.

Ordered the Earth Brown Vans SK8-High-MTE & they arrived a week ago. But it's hot August, so I put off trying them. It has been raining alot, yesterday I soaked a pair of sneakers in rainy wet grass. So this AM I tried the MTE Vans. My ancient, all but worn out Vans that I have sprayed with silicone shed the rain & wet grass better. At first the new Vans shed water easily, but they got saturated as I dead-headed some flowers. No better than the sneakers that got soaked yesterday! They are very comfortable right out of the box. (You might want arch support.) And they fit a tiny bit tight--but they are new. Very lightweight. Stylish. & again, comfortable. I've been wearing them, even though they're damp. They seem to take some time to dry. They don't feel tight any more. The sole is very flexible: you'll know you stepped on a rock. Skaters might find it good for 'board feel'. It's also rather slip resistant. Might be good for rocks in a creek & they might not be heavy even full of creek water...so, possibly an okay fishing shoe? Sole is too flexible for MTB riding. That's my first impression. I wonder if Converse did a better job with their waterproof nubuck sneaker? I will spray silicone long them when they dry...

Shoes are great for the rain my boyfriend love the sneakers they do run small I had to get a half size bigger.

I just got through my first rain storm here in The Pacific Northwest. I got these for cycling on wet days. They did really well till the streets flooded and I splashed some water into the tongue. It has the web between the tongue and body but it does not go all the way to the bottom so water totally slips in right at the toes. Major design flaw. They are very warm and so it was not too bad but that seems like a major issue they should have fixed. They also are a bit bulkier looking than the normal high top vans. Not a major issue for me but I was expecting the classic Vans look.

I’ve worn these for one snow/winter season in NYC and had hoped the fabric would soften but NO! They’re soooo stiff and won’t soften even after trudging through snow. Wish I could return them.

I ordered these in a 6.5 and the Vans sk8-hi MTE 2.0 in 6. They're both the same size and too small - length and width. I'm usually a 7.5-8 in women's shoes. In Danskos and Birkenstocks I'm a 38. Also, the laces aren't long enough to lace them up all the way.

I am so confused by the fit of these shoes. They are longer then I was expecting and super wide up by the toes, but narrow in the heel/ankle and they kill the tops of my feet, they rub on bone. So too long, wide in the toes and way too tight around the actual foot. I’m so disappointed. And because I have worn them for 1 day they can’t be returned. It was a terribly long day and I couldn’t wait to get home to rip them off and throw them in the back of my closet. I do not recommend these at all! Also, I have tiny, petite feet so this isn’t an issue I’m accustomed to running in to.
