Good day hikers. Waterproof, walked through 4 inch creek no leakage. Average heel-break. Good-looking boot. However, the laces are poor quality! Stretched out the first week, too long leaving excess to drag, get stepped on, tripping. These aren't great boots but they are adequate for everyday, day hikes, and weekenders. I've logged about 400 miles in the first 3 months the boots have held up well except for the poor quality laces.

I use them for casual wear with jeans and light yard work. They feel great and look good.

Just wore these on a 7 mile hike and no complaints. The sole feels a little stiffer than my old chocorua hikers, but that's not a bad thing in my opinion. They look good with anything and the size feels spot on.

Wouldn't allow me to return a size that was too big even though I didn't wear them.

Ordered in size 9.5 was smaller than my size 9 of other timberland boots. Will try a larger size.

I don't know if it's because they change the style but they fit huge now. I have to tighten them all the way just to walk and they still hurt my front/top part of my toes. Would probably not buy again.

My feet felt great and stable in the arch and toe box. I returned because the left boot was rubbing on the front of the ankle. I don't think this would resolve itself even after breaking in the boot.

I walk 6-8 miles per security shift. After 22 shifts, soles are already wearing down. Might last 30 more shifts. Soles should last at least 1000+ miles.

I wear these shoes everyday for yard work and just regular daily activities. I have had several pairs of Timberland shoes as have both of my boys for their work. All shoes have been very comfortable and durable. My disappointment in these shoes is with the rubber tip around the end of the toe. The edges rubber come lose from the leather and grab grass and weeds that become caught. This makes the shoes look cheap and poorly made. Love the comfort and fit and they are easy to get on and take off. I can wear them all day and my feet have never hurt. I walked over seven miles one day and never had any discomfort. Despite all of the good things, I do not like the de-bonding of the rubber around the front of the toe that catches things and only gets worse with wear. It is very annoying!

I wear these each day as I work on the construction of my cabin, while hiking to Adirondack ponds and walking dog on local trails. I like the boot except it has a thin sole. I wear two pairs of socks and I can still feel stones right through the sole. I wear the a pro series workbook in cooler weather, a heavy boot, but comfortable. I'm a repeat buyer of the work boot but won't get these again.

I usually wear a woman's 7.5-8. I typically wear a man's size 6 in Doc Martens, White's work boots, Sorrels, Vans, Converse and so on. I was between a Men's Timberland 7 and 7.5, and I got the 7.5 because I wear 2 pairs of socks, but could have probably gotten a 7, because they are about 1/8" too big. I was a wildland firefighter for 12 years and wore $500 Whites boots that are a double THICK layered leather upper and leather footbed. I would wear a cotton sock with a wool over sock (outer) and this kept my feet from ever being wet from sweat, as the wool would pull the moisture out of the cotton sock against my skin and the leather breathed well. So I planned on doing that with these boots. But the fabric lining is not as breathable as my leather work boots and my feet were more "damp" feeling all of the day. I just became a USPS Letter Carrier and these boots were my choice, because they meet the all black uniform requirement along with the leather requirement and sort of have a non-slip sole, but I wish they were certified non-slip so that I would not have had to worry if they would work. I broke my ankle some years ago, and I like having the lace hooks so that I have more lacing choices to protect the sensitive spot on my ankle. I love the tongue gusset for keeping dirt, gravel and water out, but unfortunately the inner sewing job on the left foot tongue gusset is not sewn smooth and it digs into the tender spot on my broken ankle bone. Of all 4 seams where the tongue meets the boot on both boots, it's the only one that matters to me and the only one that's sewn poorly. I am trying some different lace options but I might have to take it to a cobbler and have them fix the poor sewing. We will see how these wear. Where the toe is glued to the front of the boot already looks like it might not hold. I wish they stitched the toe on and then I would have more faith in these boots. The one thing that really p-ed me off though, was that I paid for the Overnight (1-2) day shipping. I tried to order them late afternoon on a Thursday from their website, but the order would not go through not matter what I did. I tried my credit card 3 times and my husband's 1 time and it would not let me pay, no matter what. So I called Friday, from CA, in the 9:00 am hour here to order the boots. It should have been PLENTY OF time for them to place the order which their website said it had to be in by 2:00 pm, Mountain time to have them be overnight. The shipping label was not even created until Saturday afternoon and not picked up until Monday. I got the boots on Tuesday. My first workday was Tuesday and I did not have my boots, nor any time to break them in. As a Letter Carrier I can walk 10-15 miles a day. That's a lot of walking with zero break in time--not good. So I paid $25 to ship them quick, played by their "rules" and payed that much for nothing, because it still took more than 4 1/2 days to get here. I wasted my $25. We will see how these boots fare, I will update my review if Timberland lets me, if the boots fail.

Comfortable? Yes. I wear them 10-12 hours a day working in an auto parts store. Durable? No. The rubber guard on the toe of my left shoe is peeling off already after 2 weeks. I'm not happy.

How is this shoe rated 'true to size' when it is too big even with 2 pairs of thick wool socks and orthotics? Or one pair thick socks and an extra insole? Waste of my time and my feet hurt like....

I recently purchased my 2nd pair of these boots since i first bought them in 2017. Something has changed in the sizing. I remember these fitting like a glove a few years ago. Now the length is ok, but my heel slips like crazy in the boots and I feel unstable. Hopefully this is just part of the breaking in period. I really wanted to like these boots all over again.

I ordered these to replace an old set of Timberland Flume hiking boots. The Flumes were comfortable, but my feet would begin to feel a bit cramped after 3 or 4 hours of hiking. The Mt. Maddsen's were available in a Wide size, so I ordered them. Even in wide, they were much narrower than my old Flumes, and cramped my feet immediately. I sure wish Timberland could get some consistency in widths of their shoes.

While this product has overall been great. I found that it did not last nearly as long as a previous pair of timberlands boots that they have since discontinued. The other pair I have owned easily 4 years with only scuffing of the leather. On the other hand this pair I have owned for almost 2 years now has scuffing, a couple small superficial rips, the rubber/foam is seperating from the leather, the soles completely peeled out in the first year, and overall is deteriorating at a much faster rate. For context I wear these boots every single day (as I did my other pair) and my work is actually probably less harsh on them now (office work, with occasional warehouse/construction type work). I will either be moving to the pro line of boots or looking for a different manufacturer that offers full leather boots without falling apart.
