The sole of this shoe is very cushiony; however, the toe area was very narrow unlike most other brands of running shoes I have owned.

I had to return this shoe as it hit my arch in the wrong place (I have low arch) and was narrow enough that it became uncomfortable. I loved how light weight and cushy it was. Wish it would have worked out.

I really like this shoe. It's very lightweight, yet feels very soft and supportive when I run. The toe box is spacious, which I like, and the shoes look great! I started wearing double socks because no matter how I laced them, they always felt loose. I wish the laces weren't so long and that there were extra lacing holes at the top. Overall a keeper!

Only complaint is that the leatherette portion of the shoe tongue stains white socks pink at the point of contact. Suggest you wear dark socks.

Purchased these after a recommendation from a friend who also suffers from plantar fasciitis. While pricey, these shoes deliver in many ways. Pros - incredibly light weight, great cushioning, my arch support inserts fit fine (although I'd prefer a bit more support from the shoe itself). Cons - I felt the shoes were on the narrow side. I do have very wide feet but rarely have a problem with the width of running shoes. I had to size up so the shoe would fit. Due to that, the shoe is slightly too large but the pros outweigh the cons in this situation.

I ordered this shoe in 9.5 and 10. I currently run in an Asics Cumulus size 10. Both Hoka were too big. Returned them for a 9-- that size seems too snug. I am returning to try another Hoka model as I want the cushioning.

Love love love these! They are so super comfortable and great for a long run. Not a huge fan of the color options.

I have been a Nike wearer for over 15 years. I don't run, but wear running shoes while I use my elliptical trainer and need forefoot cushioning as the machine puts your body in a position which demands you lean forward on the balls of your feet slightly. The Nikes weren't offering any forefoot cushioning to keep the forefoot areas of my feet from getting numb. I read multiple reviews of shoes and went to the Runner's World website. This shoe was highly recommended for forefoot cushioning by editors and users. I bought it and have worn it for a week on my cardio machine nightly. The shoe is very lightweight (and unconventional looking) and the sole is made exclusively of EVA. I agree the cushioning is spectacular and though the sole is made of a very soft material I am hoping it will not compress and die at this price anytime soon. Size is true and I find the width generous given my foot isn't wide. I feel like I am wearing nothing they're so light so I am saying goodbye to Nike!

I would like to ask Carol C. from Tampa how her foot is doing after her surgery, and if she still likes her Hoka Cliftons. I am also a runner with the same problem needing a cheilectomy, and currently running in the Hoka Stinsons, which feel heavy on my feet. I am waiting for size 11 to come into stock.

I read all the reviews. I was really excited to get these shoes. Now not so much. I walk 8 miles a day in 2 hours. I have done this for over 25 years. I have logged over 48,000 miles. So these shoes feel great when you first put them on and walk around the house. But after mile 3 or 4 the ball of my left foot starts to ache. By the time I have done 8 miles it hurts a lot. Not sure if it is the shoes? I usually wear Nike Air Max. I am 5'6 and not overweight. So if it is the shoes I'm not impressed. I don't have this problem with Nike or Asics gel or even Mizunos unless my shoes are really worn out. Not really happy but not sure the shoes are to blame. Don't think I will order them again.

After dealing with plantar fasciitis on and off for years but with a job requirement to pass a fitness test including running, I have been searching for something to keep the pain at bay. After about a month of use, I can't speak to the effect on my plantar fasciitis but it does seem my feet and knees hurt less. These are super padded soles and yet light weight, which I like. The shoe fits a bit wide all over for my medium to narrow foot so it's tough for me to get a snug fit. Overall I am optimistic but I do have one complaint. Already pieces of rubber trim are peeling off the sides of the shoe and pieces of the honeycomb sole are coming off. The trim has no performance impact but the sole does. I expected better from a shoe at this price point. I generally go through 3-4 pairs of running shoes a year. I may not be getting a second pair of these if this is reflective of the quality of the shoe construction.

I must retract my previous glowing review. These feel great on the foot but working out in them is a different experience all together. I am a fast walker and these uncomfortably pitch my feet and alter my natural stride. Although it did not cause pain, it created an awkward, uncomfortable stride. Also, the insert on one shoe bunched up after my second workout. I had to smooth this out each and every work out until I finally gave up today. Love the concept of a very supportive shoe, but in reality these just don't work for me.

I was very sad to have to return these. I wanted to try a more cushiony shoe, and this shoe was comfortable in every way except that it pressed into my achilles tendon. I have very sensitive achilles tendons and a tendency toward plantar fasciitis, so I just couldn't take the risk. Other athletic shoes do this as well -- especially Merrell's (on a long hike, I had to take my husband's Swiss Army knife and slit the back of a pair of Merrell hiking shoes because the pressing had become so excruciating). My best bet are Brooks. They don't do that.

I bought these based on a suggestion that these shoes would not irritate my heel spur. After wearing the shoes for about 6 hours, I found my heel more sore than it had been in a while. These shoes did help a friend with plantar fasciitis.

I am a bit disappointed. I have been wearing the Stinson Tarmac but wanted something lighter and less clunky. The thin little tongue has worn blisters on both of my ankles. I have put about 75 miles on them and it has not gotten any better. They are nice and light but lack the cushioning that I have come to expect and love from Hoka.

Did not care for this style of Hoka shoe. Did not seem very supportive in the upper and felt wide. My fave is still the Hoka One One Stinson Trail 2 but looks like it's being phased out. So that was a valid reason for purchasing another pair of those to have on hand when my current pair wears out!

I really wanted to love these shoes after reading glowing reviews in fitness magazines. The fact they run so incredibly wide and run so large eclipses the fact they offer tons of cushion that alleviates joint stress. I merely tried these on, and had to really cinch the shoelaces to get them somewhat secure enough to walk in my living room. They "bag out" at the sides, and my feet swim in them. I bought another pair of Hokas at the same time, tried unsuccessfully to "talk" myself into liking them, so unfortunately they're not able to be returned.

I ordered this shoe in two sizes. 8.5 and 9. I have high arches and need a shoe with good support because I work in the medical field and am on my feet 8-10 hours a day. I was unable to get my foot into the shoe because of the gimmicky toggle on the lace. Very disappointing. I cannot comment on support, felt true, etc. Never got the thing on my foot. Both pairs going back.
