My husband has has a few pairs of Hoka's and is now the only shoe he will buy as he has very sensitive feet and the padding this shoe offers is a great relief. I read carefully which style seemed to fit my use and feet needs and ordered this style. Loved it from the first time trying on. No break-in needed and great padding, length and width. I would say true to size. I do not have a wide foot nor do I have a very narrow foot. You will have some color bleed from the tongue material which is a little of a nuisance. Overall I love the shoe.

This is my 3rd pair of Clifton's and 4th is on its way. I run about 40-50 miles per week and really needed some cushion and the Clifton's are a perfect match for me. They are light and with the rocker bottom they really help me with toe off, which for me is very hard because I have Hallux rigidus in my left big toe. I had surgery last year and I tried many shoes (13 different) and nothing felt as good as the Clifton's. The traction I get on them are great I found out during a half marathon that rained all 13.1 miles, no slips and my feet felt great soaking wet the whole time! The only bad thing I can say is they do not last long, around the 100 mile mark my outsoles in the heel zone start to show significant wear. So I only get about 250 miles if I'm lucky (all my runs are on concrete). Okay, one more bad, they are not the best looking shoe but they do look better on then in a picture. So if you are looking for a all around shoe that is cushioned and light enough for racing too you won't go wrong with the Clifton's.

After reading all the other reviews, I was skeptical of the hype. I was wrong. These shoes, once I broke them in a bit, are truly like walking and running on a cloud. One added bonus -- the shoe strings are overly long, something I love, as most other running shoes have minimal length strings.

I have been looking to purchase a pair of Hoka One One for over a year now. I am so glad I finally bought a pair...Clifton had the best combination I was interested in: technology, light weight, trail, smooth run for uphill as well as long gait runs. The reviews were correct that say order half size down. I have a high arch, run sprint triathlons, but in my 50s running the half marathon...these are simply wonderful running shoe!! I had to send the original order back as I bought Size 7 -- I hate sending things back. Zappos gets an A+ for making it easy to exchange for the half-size smaller. I went out and gave my new Hokas a test run - super!

Oh no! Other reviewers recommended going down a size in these shoes. That was a big mistake. These shoes had a much narrower toe box than my Mizunos. They are going back, but I do not know whether to go up to my regular size or go back to Mizunos or Sauconys.

These shoes are like walking on a cloud! I've had a lot of foot surgery and need a wide toe box. The gentle rocker bottom helps to make my gait more natural without putting pressure on my knees as other rocker shoes have done. I didn't need any time to break in these shoes and walked for 45 minutes the first day. They aren't as supportive as other shoes, but the light weight compensates for that. I hope one day to return to running with these shoes.

I ordered several pairs of Hokas and this is the pair that I kept. I have been using them several months now, for walking - I am not a runner. They are extremely comfortable. They do run large - I ordered half a size smaller than I usually wear in running shoes. They also run wide, which has not been a problem. They fit me as well as a Saucony does, width wise. I do not wear wide shoes, but some running shoes (New Balance) are too narrow for me in the B width. I really like these shoes and am wearing these rather than my Sauconys, which I also love.

I must say, I was hesitant in purchasing this shoe as I had looked at the brand before. But I'm doing the C25K program, way overweight with a bad, bone on bone knee. My Brooks Adrenaline leave me limping, so I was desperate to do something different, so I saw these in Runners World and read a lot about them and finally decided to give them a go. Boy am I glad I did. On my first run in them, aside from the usual knee creaks and groans, I flew like an angel in these shoes. I feel great! No blisters, I ordered my regular sneaker size 9 and they are perfect! They are so light! And the cushioning and stability are the perfect blend for me. They saved my running as I aspire to run a 5K in a few months and drop the lbs! I needed something forgiving for my knee. This is the answer. I love this shoe. Already recommended it to a friend with neuropathy and bad knees. Also recommended Zappos for their great service! Thanks!

These shoes were recommended by a podiatrist. They are virtually weightless, have very good support and are comfortable.

I have too many foot and knee injuries for only being in my 30s. My doc suggested Hokas. At first glance I thought no way am I ever wearing those. I'm vain...I admit it. After some time, I decided to give Hokas a shot. I'm pleased to say they are the most comfortable tennis shoes I have ever owned. Plus, the toe area is wide enough that my toes do not rub. They do not look bad on at all! I highly recommend these!

I'm a neutral runner, and have been loyal to Brooks for ages. I don't need a stability shoe, but want some cushioning. I run on the dirt whenever I can. These shoes make it feel like I'm always running on packed dirt, even when I'm on pavement. They're light and add spring to my step. They're my favorite pair of running shoes -- ever. I'd call myself a serious-casual runner -- I used to have high mileage and was quite competitive, and now as a working mom I get in 3-5 miles 4-5 times a week. I'm happy to lace up these shoes each time I do!

These are Hoka One One pair number three. I've worn the Stinson in two models, and I like this model. These are more comfortable, lighter, a bit more generous in the forefoot than the Stinson ATR (about equivalent to the older discontinued Stinson trail shoe), and have ordinary laces. They also have mesh uppers and consequently can be a little chilly on cold wet days, when the mesh allows for excellent ventilation. My daughter, who is a style maven, also commented that these were the first Hokas she'd see that "aren't ugly." (I have the green/grey ones, and it's true, they're not ugly. They're still oversized and conspicuous, though.)

Amazing shoes! They are not the most attractive - but they are a dream to run in. Treadmill or on the street - these shoes offer supreme support and a comfy ride. Highly recommend

I have heel pain and problems with plantar fasciitis. My podiatrist recommended these shoes. He mentioned the "rocker" in them and he said they would help over time. They really have! They are excellent and the pain is way less than it was. They have really been a great relief.

I tried these since I am having hip issues. They are super cushy and very light. I also run in Asics Keyano and these seem lighter. It took a little bit to get used to the huge sole but I have had no issues with rubbing or blisters at all. Since I am in the process of rehabbing my hip I also haven't put a lot of mileage on them. My longest run/walk was seven miles, but they felt great!

I bought these for my daughter who has been struggling with knee issues for a couple years now....she said, these are def. the most comfy shoes, she has worn, her 5K times improved significantly. She would recommend, other than the big bulky look, they are super lightweight.

Love them. Takes a walk or two to get used to the squish but then they are amazing. I used to struggle with knee pain off and on. I have zero knee pain now! BUT either they are very wide in the mid foot or they put the eyelets too close together. I have it tighten them up so much the two sides almost meet. I'm still giving them 5 stars tho because my legs feel so fresh even on more challenging runs.

I had a pair of Hoka before and liked them but they were too heavy, so when these came out and were said to be lighter I decided to give Hoka another shot. I've put 70 miles on them so far and I like them. They are light yet very cushioned. They feel great even after a long run and my legs feel good too. At first the forefoot felt a bit snug but it has stretched and conformed to my foot and no longer feels snug. I will definitely be getting another pair. I normally wear a 10.5 and am comfortable in a 10 in these.

I have joint paint (sometimes major) running. Even though I usually get my sneakers specially fired at a running store I decided to get theses Hokas on Zappos. These are the best sneakers I've ever ran in! No joint pain and I feel like i'm running on a cloud! Just bought a second pair!

I thought my never ending search for a shoe that would work after my ankle fusion was going to last a lifetime. I ordered these shoes as the previous comment were helpful. I put them on and jogged down the hall. Not supposed to be able to run but I can. Wore them all day with comfort and minimal swelling. Shoes are super lightweight and the cushion is amazing. If they feel good on a non runner, runners will love these shoes. Thanks Zappos.

I love these shoes. They are far more cushioned than any other athletic shoes I've owned. I am not a runner, but I do walk fast, and I've had ankle issues and shin splints in the past. My right leg is 3/4" longer than my left leg, and I have orthotics for arch support. My 3/8" lift (I am hesitant to fully correct my leg length difference) and my orthotics fit well in this shoe. I got my first pair of Hoka One One Cliftons two weeks ago just before I left for a 10-day trip. I wore them around the house for a day to make sure they fit correctly, then wore them almost constantly as I walked all over St. Paul, MN, and Charleston, SC. These shoes are a dream. I've had no issues with shin splints when I wear these shoes. I just ordered a second pair for wearing around the house.

This shoe is amazing. I expected a cushioned shoe to be heavy. I got something that is actually lighter than my regular running shoe, but more comfortable. I am still amazed at how lightweight it is. I have occasional knee trouble, and the Roka is a definite help on my longer runs. It's a little pricey, but well worth trying out.

This is my third pair of Hokas, and my favorite. They just keep getting better. This pair has a better tongue. The upper is much more flexible and comfortable. LOVE love these shoes- like running on a cloud, they put a spring in my step and let me run even though I have bad knees!

Am also a runner - have been running with the Asics Gel Noosa which I think exacerbated my toe issues - also just had a cheilectomy on my left big toe - am looking forward to running with these so the reviews by those who just also had this surgery is very inspiring! I did a short run the day before my surgery and these shoes made my feet feel so good that I thought twice about going under the knife. Lots of great cushioning and stability - as well as super light. Very comfy shoes! Kind of so ugly they're cute.

I'm in the middle of my training for half marathon and now with the longer runs I wanted more cushion. The Clifton's have the cushion I wanted! I feel great at mile one and mile ten. I had surgery 3 months ago on my left foot (cheilectomy) and I have had problems getting a comfortable fit but I had no problems with the Clifton's. They might not be the best looking shoe out there but they do look better on then in the pic! And they are VERY light weight. One flaw I found is in the coral colored one on the upper heel area they looked dirty or used. I ordered another pair to see if it was the same and it is. There is a black material running under the yellow and it gives a dirty yellow appearance. But I'm sure in time the yellow would have looked dirty any way so no big deal. So if your looking for cushion and light weight shoe give the Clifton a try. If you have tried other hokas and did not like give them another try with the Clifton!
