Purchased these as a daily wear for business dress. The chili color gives a versatility to pair with many outfits, and the clean lines make for a streamlined look. I did size down one size from my regular shoes and the leather has adjusted to my foot and is comfortable walking and driving all day long after the first few wears. No problems wearing these all day, they remain comfortable even after a long day on my feet.

Great men's dress shoe. I have worn them 3 times thus far - twice for a few hours on a Sunday and once all day at work - they were comfortable in all cases. These are exactly the shoes I was looking for to wear with suits and a tux. I will definitely be purchasing other Allen Edmonds shoes in the future.

Bought online using the size of my Allen Edmunds Black Hills but the 8.5 E were too tight. With fantastic help from Michael at the Brookfield, WI store we zeroed in on a size that fit in that style shoe. Your anniversary sale was running and the Carlyle wasn't available at sale price in the 9 E I needed. Ended up getting two pair of Fifth Avenue, one in black and one in Ox Blood. Since then I've visited your Port Washington store and came home with a pair of Cooke in brown burn (awesome color) and a pair of Bellevue for winter. Looking forward to the June tent sale.

I bought the "Carlyle" because I was attracted to the smooth, clean look. Understated yet elegant, it is easily paired with a suit or a casual look. They fit perfectly and are comfortable to wear. I initially bought them in "walnut" and liked them so much that I purchased an additional pair in "black".

The Carlyle is a very smart looking shoe. Its plain toe is highlighted by the stitching on the walnut and bourbon color leather. I currently have two pair, one black and one bourbon that complement my clothing apparel. I will always maintain the Carlyle in my shoe inventory.

These are my first Allen Edmonds shoes. They look great, and are great value for the money. All the better that they are made in the U.S. I haven't worn them enough to say I have broken them in yet, but so far so good. I expect them to become even more comfortable as I use them more.

Ordered three pairs; all three have same fit, same quality and are comfortable during daily wear. Hard to find a decent made shoe that has craft/quality at a decent price.

I've had these shoes for a little over a year and i love them. The more you wear them the more comfortable they get. Also extremely durable. I've worn these a couple of times a week for the past year and being a car salesman I walk around a lot. Will definitely be buying snother pair of allen edmonds soon!

I bought these shoes for my son. He had a brown pair prior to this so I knew this product was a good choice for him. He loves the comfort and the shoes are classy in appearance.

excellent shoes, except they are too narrow for me. I asked for a B and you sent a B. I guess I need at least a C, but am not sure a C was available when I made the purchase. I have been in Hawaii until 1/5/2017, and just opened the boxes yesterday. I will be returning the shoes for a wider shoe. They a nicer looking than I had expected. Seem to be very well made.

First shoe with Allen Edmonds. Was looking for a change and moved to Allen Edmonds. Great style got my attention and I decided to buy it although a bit expensive but I really liked the style and color (burnished brown). Shoe feel comfortable and fits perfectly. Leather looks good. Great for office dress wear as well as to match with jeans.

The Carlyle is a timeless classic shoe. Its plain toe and design technically makes it the most formal dress shoe that Allen Edmonds currently offers. It's a good shoe in any color, and a very highly shined black pair can be considered as an alternative to a pair of patent leather shoes to wear with a tuxedo. I ordered a pair in walnut. Unfortunately for me, the 108 Last doesn't fit me. It is too tight around the front half of my foot. I own about a dozen Allen Edmonds and have been buying them for 20 years. I've kept my shoes in excellent condition by following a few guidelines. I clean and condition my shoes before the first use. Since the shoes might have been in inventory for a while, you want to make sure the leather is hydrated before wearing them. After that it's just regular intervals of cleaning, conditioning, and polishing/shining. And of course I always use proper fitting cedar shoe trees. Another important bit of information is to not wear the same pair of shoes on successive days. This way the shoe has time to naturally dry out between wearings.

The Carlyle stands the test of time for classic dress. Seems every time I wear them, someone says "Nice Shoes!" Always catches me by surprise since they are so comfortable, I'm not thinking about what I have on my feet. I've had these for around 9 months now. The more I wear them the more comfortable they become. Unlike some shoes that look nice but feel bad and never really adjust to your feet. Allen Edmonds is a product that last a lifetime and becomes a friend! I have several pairs of Allen Edmonds shoes. Some I have had for over 18 years. You can't have and wear a better shoe for the money. Elegant Simplicity A true Classic

I bought these shoes, in oxblood, nearly a year ago and since then they have not only became one of the staples of my wardrobe and a source of many complements and inquiries, but my favorite and by far my best pair of shoes. After a year of where on a consistent basis, they still are just as spectacular as the moment I remove them from the box for the first time. The fit was perfect and I could not sing the praises of the shoe enough. If you are looking for an elegant dress you look no further.

I've been wearing Edmond Allens shoes for twenty years, ever since a salesman convinced me that it was worthwhile to spend a bit more. Before that I'd had many experiments with shoes of varying prices, never really getting the right feel. Once fitted as an 11C I discovered what it was like to have shoes that really fit. And, shoes that were well made; I still own shoes that have been recrafted twice and are like my best friends. Like many good things, shoes do need to retire so I wanted to get a new pair. I liked the style of Carlyle and ordered them. They arrived in a standard 11D and, while they were beautiful to behold, they were a bit off. Just a little bit generous. I called my local store in Boston to see what they had in 11C and Victoria offered to have the Carlyle custom made in my size; as a courtesy she did not charge me more. When they arrived Victoria called so I could pick them up. They looked great and felt even better. The shoes felt like they were made just for me. Just like all my AE shoes, but now actually really made just for me. I felt appreciated for my years of devotion and rewarded for knowing what really fits. There's not much in life that you can get just the way you want; these shoes are a treat.

I recently purchased these as part of one of the discounted sales on factory seconds. I had been eying them for months. They fit true to size. These are my first chili-colored shoes (I have many black and walnut and one oxblood pair). The color is deep and rich. They go well dressed up with a navy suit (or even gray) or down with almost any color slacks and shirt (more daring men might even wear them with jeans, but that's not my style). The silhouette is sleek and fashionable, but because they are oxfords and plain toed, they can be worn to the most conservative events with no fear of being too fashion-forward. They truly are my new favorites

My father-in-law always wore Allen Edmonds. He was an executive with a tech company and wore a suit and tie every day to work. He didn't skimp on suits, ties or shoes. He professed that investing in quality dress shoes was worth the price. I now own six pairs of Allen Edmonds, with the Carlyle being my latest addition. I have sent several pairs of Allen Edmonds back for reconditioning, and they come back looking like new. Indeed a wise investment.
