This coat is warm and lightweight. Fits true to size.

Overall impressions: I purchased this jacket after an old coworker described theirs as something they never leave the house without. After owning it for the duration of a Northern Colorado shoulder season, I can see why! It's warm enough to comfortably walk my dog in the morning when it's 20 degrees, durable enough to start a day of landscaping, (usually in the 30's) looks good enough to wear to the bar that night, (40's-50's) and it's the perfect coat to throw on after finishing a long trail run. I'm looking forward to seeing how it performs under a shell for some lift-served skiing this winter, but I'm pretty confident I'll like it more than another brand's ultralight puffy I've been rocking the past few seasons. It also layers well with a gridded fleece and base layer underneath, but I'm going to save that look for the winter days when temps drop to the teens or below. Pro's: -It looks great (color and fit, even though it's not the most trim cut) -Super comfortable in a wide range of temperatures -Almost immediately warm (very little "waiting for my body to heat it up first") -Wind and water resistance -Durable material -Doesn't collect as much dog hair as any other jacket I've ever owned does Con's: -Some staining. I realize most people aren't going to wear this landscaping, and the majority of the discoloration comes off without much effort, but there are a few spots that seem here to stay. -I do wish it was a little more breathable, but honestly, I'm a hair away from getting the Atom LT for more active adventures. This jacket is outstanding for most daily activities, but I know I'd get way too warm with a pack on or if I was wearing it on a run.

This is a fantastic piece. Keeps you nice and comfortable, is pretty lightweight and it looks really nice as well.

Bought this a few months ago for an Alaska trip - super warm and windproof. Had to take it off when it was 50+F and high wind, I was sweating. Easy to wash and dry also. Would highly recommend.

This jacket is super comfy and warm. A very underrated jacket sadly. I run very cold all the time and this jacket is the perfect one for around town, or a walk around the park.

I bought this jacket a year ago it has been my go to jacket at a local retail store . The warmth to weight ratio is great. Even on the coldest days last year I wore a light covert vest underneath and felt warm. Below minus 10 an extra layer was require. Great breath ability. Light compressible . A great addition to my arcteryx line. My oldest piece is a fusion jacket 12 years and still a great coat.

Just got it and haven't had to wear it until movie night outdoors and temp went down below 50F, Proton FL was not warm enough, but Atom AR was perfect. If it was any colder would have added shell given that we were sitting outside for a while. Long term review pending.

I have been wearing the traditional version of the Atom jacket (LT version today) for decades and have it in multiple sizes, depending on whether I wear it as outerwear or a layering piece. They are honestly well over a decade old and standing tough! I purchased the Atom AR, because I wanted an alternative to my favorite down puffy... due to COVID-19, I wanted the ability to wash my everyday "warmer" jacket at home. The fit is very consistent with the LT, and the added warmth doesn't add noticeable bulk. It is appropriate for a trip to the grocery store as well as an outdoor adventure... I think it will also work great as a ski jacket for a temperate, dry day. Overall, I'm very pleased:)

Extremely light, super tough, and extremely toasty! It's all I'll need for winters here in NC. I could tell as soon as I took it out of the packaging that a ton of research and thought went into making it. As far as sizing goes, just follow the chart. I usually wear a large in most things. However, according to the chart, I wear a Medium in Arc'teryx clothing. That's what I ordered and it fits PERFECTLY!

The only Jacket I need for winter. One of the best out there.

I have owned this jacket for about 1.5 years. In the winter I wear it every day on my way to and from work. I also wear it under my shell on very frigid days on the slopes. The cuffs are amazingly comfortable and the materials are very high quality. I'm 6'3 and 190 lbs and a large fits me perfectly. 100% would buy again.

This jacket is very cozy and has a beautiful cut for women. I use it for some outdoor activities, but it's warm enough that I take it off for high exertion. Very stylish and useful. Fits very true to size/not generous or extra room. Great pockets and other details like stretch panels on the side and shaped wrist cut for better protection.

This AR is another great example of Arc'teryx quality. Its so comfortable and the hoody Is nice to throw up when needed.

Bought about a month ago... I've found it super comfortable on chilly fall mornings and it's great now that the weather in the mountains is getting worse. It's only seen like -4 Celsius so far but I plan on wearing it in colder temperatures as well. It looks so good that I actually don't want to take it off when I get to work!

This jacket keeps me warm even though it's super light. I bought it in a size larger than I normally wear so I could have something like a warm fleece underneath. And it still fit under my Beta SL shell! It's also water resistant so I had no problems wearing it under light rain. I love my Atom and regret not buying it sooner.

It's autumn here in Canada, and as you can tell it obviously gets pretty cold. No activities done with it yet because 1) COVID, 2) It's autumn. It keeps me pretty warm and cozy when I go outside. It's better to layer it with a sweater of some sorts for the full comfy expo. I wear it everytime I go outside and it's cold or raining. Hands down the best jacket I've ever owned.

Don't let the price scare you away from this jacket. If I went by the $ per wear rule, I would have paid for it 3x over by now. This jacket is perfect for layering under a shell on a really cold or wet day, perfect on its own on a coolish day, light and easy to pack for travelling, and super comfortable. About to buy my 2nd so I can change up the colour.

This jacket feels much more like a stand alone winter jacket for non extreme environments, with it's extra insulation and an almost (lightweight) shell like feel on the outside. It's very warm and can handle some moderate rain, long enough to get under cover. The fit is similar to the LT with two notable differences: slightly tighter in the arms, and slightly looser in the waste. I purchased the same size that I did in the LT ( large), and it fits great. For reference I am 6'4" and about 185.
