I tried a dozen coats to find the right winter coat, including many from Zappo's. This one was a winner in terms of warmth, fit and style, plus Zappo's shipping and return made internet shopping easy.

I got this coat a few weeks ago and it is incredible. I live in Madison, Wisconsin, so having a good long coat is very important. This coat is long enough to keep you legs warm down to your knees! It is a great coat to brave the wind and cold! I would recommend to anyone in search of a sturdy long coat for a cold winter.

Purchased this coat for my wife. She loves it! It's very warm and light. The waterproof element is great (coming from an all down coat). She loves that the sleeves are long with the cuff inside. She has observed the swooshing noise it makes and that there is no loop inside or out to hang the coat. These are not deal breakers by any means, but just things to be aware of, or to improve on future versions (the loop specifically).

Love this coat. SUPER warm, cute mid-thigh length that still keeps your legs toasty. Nipped-in waist and A-line hip cut is flattering. The hood's fur doesn't obstruct vision.

I ordered several coats from Zappos (thank you, Zappos, for your generous return policy!), and this is my favorite by far. It is the most feminine and comfortable, and it's warm without being bulky. The fur hood is a nice touch, and the fur does not get into your line of sight when the hood is raised (not so with some of the other brands). I purchased my normal size, small, and there is plenty of room for a sweater underneath. For reference, I'm 5'8" / 130. This is my first Marmot purchase, but I have a feeling it won't be my last. I'm very impressed with the quality (Other purchases were: Under Armour Royal Parka, North Face Shavana, North Face Arctic, and Merrell Arctic Glow - they're all going back!)

Amazed by style, light weight and right fit for my stocky size 16 body frame, 5'1" tall. Not an easy size to fit - yet this coat does it! It is only November but I am looking forward the freezing North-Eastern PA winter with windchill falling below zero. This coat will keep me warm, I am sure. For now I just enjoy the look and feel of it.

I've only had this coat for a week, but so far I love it. Keeps me warm in this crappy New England winter. So, about the noise: It does make a noise, but it doesn't bother me. All down coats make a noise, it's just that this one is a slightly different noise. I think it's the waterproof outer layer moving against the down layer. I definitely can't sneak into a meeting or a talk late, but that just means I should stop being so tardy all the time. On that note, I should probably venture out into the snow. Bottom Line: Zappos offers free returns, so order this and see if the noise bothers you. If it doesn't, the coat is totally worth it (though I should maybe mention that I used credit card points to make it more affordable for a grad student budget).

I love this coat! I live in the Boston area and take both the Commuter Rail and subway into the city to work every day. It has been freezing here the past few days (this morning it was 1 degree at 8am) and this coat has kept me super warm, even in the wind. The coat is comfortable and light. The only thing I don't like about it is how high the collar comes up on the sides of your face when you have it zipped all the way up. This coat was worth every penny and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a warm winter coat.

A great coat overall. It has more down and is higher-quality than North Face. I wore it in extreme cold and was toasty warm. A little utilitarian and the platinum colour is rather drab, but nonetheless a fine choice, especially for the money.

This jacket is the best. It is super warm but still lightweight. I'm 5'8", 135 lb and got the small - the sleeves are the right length and there is room for a sweater or sweatshirt underneath. Having this jacket had made winter so much better, worth the money.

I love the look and feel of this coat; however, I just cannot tolerate the noise it makes. I find it distracting to walk around. Therefore this coat is going back. For size: I'm 5'2", 130 lbs, 34C bra and the small fit perfectly.

I was very disappointed to discover this coat didn't quite fit and Zappos was out of stock on another size. It is well made, the outer fabric, my biggest concern, does seem like it will be wind resistant and the down is sewn into small inner pockets that will help it maintain its puff. Good looking as well.

As many reviewers mentioned, the hood is a very tight fit but I personally don't mind because it means the wind won't be blowing off my hood. The hood's fur, and the hood itself are both removable (which is great because the fur was definitely blocking my vision). The coat runs slightly roomy as I purchased both XS and S and will be keeping the XS (I am 5'6 and 125 lbs). PS - the Urban Army color is the sea green shade and NOT the darker green shade.

The item itself is well-made, but the sizing and color is off. If you are more petite, even XS is too big for size 2, more like US 4. It is a bit bulky even if you wear a cinched belt, even if the streamlined shape and inside pockets are nice. But the color is completely off, it is not pink nor blush nor dusty rose at all, but a muted drab purple, in warm light, it looks grayish, in white light, a dark purple. I ended up choosing the Columbia Suttle Peach Blossom since it was slightly shorter and more pink (granted this is 700 vs their 650 fill and it feels warmer).

This is a very warm coat without being bulky. I am between size medium & large - I definitely needed a size Large for sleeve length & to fit a sweater underneath it. The "pink" color was more like a muted mauve & very pretty. The only reason I didn't rate it 5 stars was for the hood. It fits snugly but comes down too far over my eyes. I would only use the hood if I were really freezing & didn't have to see in front of me.

The coat is super warm and flattering, but the hood is small, and with the fur on it, it presses down on my head. I love it anyway, so will wear it without the fur around the hood.

Perfect except for the too short sleeves. 3" shorter than on the Kristina parka.

Really well-made and extremely warm. The only downside is the fur on the hood - it hangs low and gets in my eyes.

Runs true to size. I liked that it was very warm and waterproof, but not bulky and heavy. I wore it in rainy weather and stayed dry. The cold did creep up from the bottom though - I wish there was some way to cinch it down there? Also - the hood was ridiculous. Why so small? It barely fits on my head, and I have a small head. I don't get it.

Neck comes up high and it's stiff and irritating.

This coat is worth every penny. I have been through a lot of coats in my years and have never had one that was so warm that I could stay outside for hours at sporting events and be totally comfortable. Or take the dog for walks and stay perfectly toasty. I had only a tank top and leggings under this today in 20 degree weather with negative wind chills and no problem. Was recently at a football game where the weather was 35 degrees at the start and then started to rain/sleet. Was I wet or cold? Not at all. Rain rolled right off the coat. Pulled the hood up and stayed perfectly comfortable. The rest of my family - not so much bc they didn't have a coat like mine. Knocking off a star bc of the hood issue. It's definitely small. Good that it won't let in snow or rain, but it is tight. No way a hat is going under for sure. I'd prefer it a little small rather than crazy huge, but seems like a hood size should be relatively easy to get right.

I recently purchased in black but I also have in blue. I'm not sure why the black one has so many feathers coming out of it but please fix that issue, it's a great coat. Size up for the best fit, it does run a bit small.

Overall really liked this coat. It keeps me warm in NYC winters and is lighter (but just as warm) as my older TNF coat. I am tall and the length is perfect, the zipper is easy to use. As some other reviewers have mentioned, the zip up to the neck is a little tight but i usually wear a blanket scarf anyway so its not an issue, the hoodie stays on in windy weather as well. It also kept me warm in the snow and rain, definitely a good functional coat for cold weather.

This is without a doubt one of the best looking down coats of the season. It is super stylish and NOT a big puffer, so you feel slender and not like a marshmallow. It is very warm without being bulky. Unlike so many double zipper coats, even from more expensive manufacturers, these zippers are perfect: attractive, easy to use, sturdy and don't snag on any lining material at all! Pockets are perfectly placed and warm. The lovely seems on the coat create contour, but also create a little too much room in the chest area... might not be an issue for some. The hood was fine, and the faux fur is detachable, as is the entire hood providing versatility.

Beautiful coat, but I don't like the tiny hood. It looks like your head shrunk. :)
