I have purchased these shoes before at the store and they lasted a couple years then the side seams at the front started splitting but I have wide feet and so that was understandable. Very comfortable. I purchased an 11 Med. the first time .
This time i purchased online and ordered the wide size. I could not even get foot in the shoe . SUPER NARROW. My son also had a pair 2 years old and loved them - best shoe he has ever had for comfort.
He could not wear these either maybe you switched the manufacturer? These should be marked as narrow. Very disappointing- i have never bought shoes online and will have to never again. My old pair would get 5 stars , these I can't wear so 3 is it.

I bought these for my partner as he needed a new pair of hiking, waterproof shoes. He picked them out himself and has worn them about 3- 4 days out of the week for a little over a month. We have gone hiking three times, riding the bike and general walking to and fro. While they are comfortable, he said they felt a little too snug at first. The disappointing part is that the outer layer of suede fabric has torn in the front right where there is a stitch, which seems like a quality issue, since it has only been a month of wear. I am not so sure it can still be considered waterproof now that this tear has happened.

I measured my foot before ordering and went half a size larger, and still I could barely get my foot in this shoe.

The size and fit were perfect. They are very comfortable. However, there is an incessant squeak in the right shoe. It literally will drive you crazy.

This is my second pair of the Redmond Low hiking shoe. My first pair was a standard width show and we tight, so this time I bought the wide version and they were still too narrow and also ran small.
I was impressed when I inboxed the shoe as it seems well constructed and has ample cushioning and the tread looked sturdy- but after wearing them for an 8 hour shift where is spent a lot of time on my feet and walking from place to place- my feet were killing me.
To put it in perspective- I just returned from a 7 day hiking and flyfishing trip in CO and WY, and my feet were much more sore after 1 day of work than they ever were after hiking in the Grand Tetons and wading in the boulder strewn Yampa and Arkansas rivers.
I'm not sure if it was the small sizing or the angle angle the shoe made my foot strike the ground, but unfortunately I have to report that they were uncomfortable to the point where I won't wear them again.
I'm a Columbia fan so I hope they get their shoes sizing figured out, as I wear a 16 and it's not easy to find my size in outdoorsman shoes.

Men's low volume, neutral arch, narrow heel foot. I normally take a men's 13. In the Redmond my toes were almost kissing the toe with a 13, but the shoe was a great fit in a 13 (heel wasn't slipping, good mid section support etc..). Reviews say to go up at least 1/2 size. It's true. There is no 13 1/2, so I upgraded to a 14. It's my foot....my feet were slipping in each shoe. I tried a heel-lock lacing technique, which is difficult to do with this shoe because of the eyelet style. With this lacing technique my left foot was good, but right heel still slipping too much. The toe box seemed deep from top to bottom. I could easily pinch and hold the excess material at the top of the toe box, but it didn't pinch the top of my toes or foot as I walked. I did not have this excess in a 13, but remember my toes were almost at the end in a 13, so it just wasn't good overall unfortunatley.
I only wore them around the house, but did not find them well cushioned. Felt stiff, firm/hard, which I'd guess is typical with this type of trail shoe. I'm used to mountain running shoes that I use for hiking, which are more flexible, different build. The ultimate test would be wear the Redmonds on the trails and see how my knees are afterwards. I'm 6' 3" and my knees take a beating and when poor cushioning in any shoe, my knees talk to me.
My impression of the shoe's construction is all and all it's solid. Nice color scheme with the gray/yellow. Wore them when it was in the 70s and 80s temps and my feet were not overheating. Quite comfortable.
I cannot comment on the waterproofing. There is a very mild rustling sound when walking due to the waterproof interior lining, but it's not a deal breaker and to be honest barely noticeable.
Laces are great. I have no negatives to report. Arch support for my foot's needs seemed fine. Not uncomfortable.
It is unfortunate this shoe has an odd-ball sizing. I would have loved to keep the size 13 if not for the short toe box issue. Going up to a 14 ruined it like my review says. Heel slippage was the killer. My toes in a 14 had a solid thumb's width at the toe box and my toes did not feel cramped on each side, so it's a roomy toe box. In a 13 I had the width of a Sharpie marker at the toe box. Columbia should consider making a size 13 1/2. Size 13 and 14 returned to Zappos.

Shoe fits and performs as advertised. however , the laces constantly need tightening. I've added another eyelet further up the shoe. It is much more secure.

just bought the REDMOND in 14 wide and it ran really narrow. could hardly fit my foot into it.
was trying to replace an older version of the Redmond from a couple years ago in wide that fit just fine. The sole was about 3/4" narrower than the older version.
Ended up buying the Grand Canyon Outdry in the regular size 14 and it fit me just fine even though I have a wide foot.

Don't let the review from the person saying that these shoes don't run small fool you. They very much run small. I have wide feet and I normally wear 9.5W. I purchased 10W and they are still very small and unwearable. I am returning them as we speak.

I was looking for a lighter weight waterproof "urban" hiker and this shoe does meet the criteria. The style is also very attractive. The size (11) was correct but the width and overall fit of the shoes felt tight. I wore the shoes around the house for a day and they began to hurt across the top of my left foot. I am 5'11" and weight 160 pounds and in the past, some "D" width shoes have felt tight. If your foot is a little wider, I would recommend the "E" width. I did not test the "waterproof" claim, but my experience with other Columbia products has been good. The color was also much darker than it appeared on my computer screen and more "brown." I would say the color is a medium to darker "taupe." I thought the price for these shoes was good and if you are okay with the fit and color, these shoes would be a 5 star purchase.

This was my first time ever trying Columbia brand for shoes. Based on many of the reviews and product images, I was really looking forward to and excited to try it out. They look and feel sturdy. I have not tested for waterproof feature or stress test. The biggest let down was the fit. These run super small and narrow. By the time I tried them out the return/exchange window has passed. Also, there are no stores close to me to even explore that option. As a workaround, I have removed the insoles so I can get my feet inside.

Not A Wide Width as advertised. Narrow in the foot, same as a regular width shoe. Tried 2 sizes and same with both so returning both. Otherwise a nice shoe.

As stated by others, these shoes are not wide width. I tried 2 sizes and both are extremely wide in the toe area and aren't any wider than a normal width shoe. Will be returning both pairs.

Excited to received the shoes, but disappointed to find out they run small. Need to get at least 1 size bigger. No idea why Columbia makes these shoes in non standard sizes. They don't match the size chart provided in their website.

Love the shoe. Very comfortable. Not even close to waterproof. Walking thru wet grass and socks soaked. Light rain and socks soaked. Have to return.

great shoe and would wear them more - if they didn't "squeak" when walking - yes - the material in the shoe that is used to make this waterproof causes them to squeak when you walk - a bit annoying to say the least - i where Merrill's as well and dont have the issue - The shoe is light and provides great footing when hiking - just the sounds make me leave them in the closet.

Fit well but wore out quickly. It will not take a lot of walking around for the soles to start wearing out. I even had holes develoop on the top of the shoe near my toes so that they are no longer waterproof

I purchased these in July '18 and have worn them roughly every third day since then because I rotate my shoes. I am a 10W and ordered that size and they have been very comfortable even for longer days on my feet at work. I feel they are similar to the old Merrell Chameleon shoes.
They have held up well until a few days ago when the toe cap on the left shoe split along the stitch on the side of the shoe. The soles aren't even that worn yet, and it would be obvious as I always wear down the outside of the soles of shoes.
Also, I feel these shoes could also benefit from one more pair of eyelets at the top.
