Perhaps some of these issues would be addressed if I had sized up, but the small fit my body perfectly. The issue is that it's SUPER tight around the neck, so zipping it up all the way is a bit uncomfortable and pretty much impossible with ski gear. The hood, while too large to wear just on your head, doesn't fit entirely over a ski helmet. Aside from that, the quality/features are great. So far I've only skied in fairly mild temps (20's or 30's) so the inability to zip all the way up or put the hood up hasn't been an issue, but may become one in colder temps. It HAS however kept me very dry in very wet conditions.

Got this coat for all the pockets and the warmth Found that it runs very small. Went up one size and then found it was still too small so returned it and went up one more size because I felt it was that good of a coat.

I love this jacket, I just wish it was warmer. It keeps the rain/snow/wind off, but I still find myself shivering in temperatures below 50. It does have enough room to add layers. I like that it allows me to move freely without feeling confined, but is still a fitted shape. I love all the pockets!

I am 5'6" tall and 128 lbs and bought the medium in this jacket and it's a little snug around the waist and chest. The sleeves are comfortable and long enough. I tried to order the large in the same black cherry color instead, but that color was gone in a large, so I opted to keep the medium. The powder skirt in back is awkward and somewhat lumpy and I considered cutting it off but maybe it helps keep out the draft. I can only fit the very thinnest clothing under the jacket. I do love the color though and the jacket does keep me warm and dry.

I purchased this jacket to replace my last Columbia jacket of pretty much the same style after the zipper broke. I like the length of this jacket being 5'8" it fits well. I love the spandex thumb holes, they keep snow and cold out. I was bummed to realize that this jacket doesn't have the zippers in the armpit area. I find that with layers on those zippers make the jacket more comfortable around your arms and reduces sweating. Overall I look forward to being warm and dry for many winters to come in this jacket! Thanks Columbia!

I was looking for a warm coat for winter. I accidentally ordered the Beet instead of the Black. However, when I received it I was very pleased with the color. I normally wear a large so that is what I ordered. It fits more as a slim fitting coat, and I normally prefer a looser fit. Since I have worn it a few times, I am okay with the fit. I just can't wear bulky sweaters under it. Overall, I am pleased with my purchase.

As soon as I got this coat the temperature dropped to -25. It kept me warm and blocked the wind. Definitely a great winter coat! Its thin and lightweight material is deceiving.

The listing says this jacket runs true to size and that a large fits a size 12-14, but I found the jacket to be extremely snug over a thin shirt. I would not be able to wear any layers. Moreover, the armholes were cut very high, which would limit my range of motion for skiing. Although I reliably wear a 12 and a M/L in other brands, Columbia clothes seem constructed for people with a thin, lanky build, not for people with muscles or curves. I have returned the L and hope that the XL is not too big. It seems like a very nice, warm, well-made jacket, and I hope to wear it skiing for the rest of the season.

I have ordered three of these jackets. It's a great jacket for the price. It's lightweight and has many pockets. The best pocket is one in the sleeve for lift pass - makes it so easy to get through the lift line. The reflective material inside of the jacket is great once you get warmed up on the slopes. Until then, you can feel a little of the cold air coming through the jacket. Once you get moving and your body heat is reflected back toward you, you keep pretty toasty. Would buy this jacket again!

Gets a little small in the wrist so wearing a sweatshirt underneath is uncomfortable at standard sizing (I'm normally a medium and would need to go large). If you're a freeze baby like me, plan to go up a size to fit a sweatshirt or buy a different jacket. This one is good on warmth but I'm by no means sweating. I personally wouldnt go in jacket/under armor alone and be warm enough. The material/quality is good and I like that it actually has a waist in it!

I bought this jacket for the the Minnesota winters, I love how it has finger wholes to help my hands have some extra protection. Omni-tech is amazing keeping me cozy and I love the inside pocket to hide my emergency shooter incase I freeze from ice fishing, little wrist pocket to hide my lighter for the propane heater. I love the breast pocket to hide my cash and credit card for the bars.

I wore this coat on a vacation to Wolf Creek. I love the Omni heat because it keeps me warm and comfortable. There's enough room in the coat for some layers. I highly recommend this coat.

Because this coat is designed to use your body heat to keep you warm and not bulk it works best if you are active. Just standing I don’t know how warm you would be. I wanted a less bulky coat to wear for everyday while driving, running between car and store etc or playing in the snow with the kids. This works for that. It is comfortable, looks classy and the solid color will be fashionable for a long time. I got the nocturnal, which is a nice blue/slate color. I don’t know that this would work with its below zero but I have a down parka for that. So overall I would say this serves the purpose I was looking for. I would suggest ordering up a size, it is fitted.

Had to return the small for a medium. Runs snug in the middle. Warm, comfortable and stylish. Would recommend this also can get a sweater underneath for added warmth.

I bought this jacket a little ahead of season, but as soon as I put it on, I knew it would be a great winter jacket. The outside will keep you dry & inside warm. I've always gotten Columbia wear, never disappoints!

I like the jacket but it runs small, I am usually a M but it was too tight on me. I bought the color Nocturnal but turned out a lighter/dull navy blue then expected. I gave my jacket to sister in law and she cant wait to use it in the winter. I was interested in this jacket because a family member has the black one but the color is not a true black, it is a lighter black/dark grey. Next time I buy this jacket it will be a size L and another color.

Wanted to upgrade my 15 year old ski jacket. First ordered a medium because reviews said to size up for layering, but medium was too long in sleeves and the neck zipped all the way up was too far up my face. Returned for a small and it fits great with a thermal layer plus a fitted extra layer...just a bit tight in the chest but for the sale price, I'll keep it. I'm 120 and 5'6". Note that this jacket is on the thin side and needs layering for adequate warmththere is no bulk. I like all the pockets and the adjustable hood. And the snow skirt is really neat, I've never had one before. Got the red and it's really a pretty rose girly color, not fire engine red.

I ordered an XL in this jacket after looking at the sizing chart hoping to have extra room for when I layer up. It's actually quite fitted even though I'm normally a size 12. It's especially tight in the hip area, but I find if I wear it above the hips it's not a problem. I don't know if there was an equivalent option in the plus sizes that I would have preferred, honestly, it didn't bother me enough to look and mess with a return.

I have been researching coats for months now, and have been tracking different ones based on price, reviews, etc. I took a chance on this one and absolutely love it! It has a lot of great features other coats don't have. The Omni-Heat thermal, powder skirt, zip-off hood, thumb-hole option, and various pockets hidden throughout are a huge bonus! Also, it features a flattering "athletic fit" stitching in the back and isn't boxy like most coats. I am 5'8" and 130 lbs. Based on reviews I went a size up and the MEDIUM fits good. A little baggy in the mid-section but not too much. I struggle to find coats that are long enough in the torso and arms. This coat is just the right length and does not ride up! The color is not your basic black but the dark gray tone gives it character.

Overall the jacket is great. Very good overall quality in manufacturing, and the color looks great (coral)--much better than the online pictures. The fit is true to size and the jacket very comfortable. The only minor complaint I have is that the jacket is not warm enough to wear alone--even in temperatures in the 30s and sunny. Definitely will need to dress in layers, with the jacket being the outermost layer. Apart from that the form, function, comfort and appearance are great, and this was a very good deal (on clearance). Happy overall with the purchase.
