Loved this coat and I wanted it so so bad! When it finally got it delivered, I was so excited to try it on. It was so comfortable and the best quality BUT I could, not for the life of me zip it up and I wear XL in everything. Honestly, if it didn't look silly, I would have kept it and just never zipped it up. But what's the point of a winter coat if you don't zip it up, am I right? So moral of the story is, if you are bigger and/or have hips or any dimension to your body, this coat will more than likely not fit you, unfortunately. Curse our sexy, curvaceous bodies!! Haha Even more unfortunate for us, Columbia does not carry plus sizes! SMH. Sadly, there is no other coat out there in the world that is just like this one (not that I've found, at least. If you have any luck, comment on my review, please!). Hopefully one day Columbia will get a reality check and get on board with the whole plus size thing. If they did, I just know their sales would sky rocket!! Just a thought! Hope my short story helps in your coat buying experience!

The jacket itself is nice, quality appears to be good. It runs a bit small though, I don't like that the cuffs have the extra material with holes for your thumbs. It would be more functional if it had the feature of an adjustable zipper at the bottom for driving. I am not impressed by the way it was packaged and shipped. For the distance, cost and quality I expected it to be in a box to protect it from the elements and the journey of shipping. Instead it was in a bag, inside another bag. It traveled from the West coast (Oregon) to the East coast (NY) in a bag that had holes and tears in it when it was received.

I would have loved this jacket, however it ran so small that I had to return it. The quality felt great though. Definitely order 1-2 sizes up.

I'm a 32B, 5', 110 pounds. I bought an XS. The wind guard around the waist is too tight to snap shut. And the hand sleeves lift too tight around my thumbs meaning that they are sewn in short. Fully zipped the length fits just around my hip bone. It's a snug fit over all and I can't layer under it but I didn't want a bulky coat. It's good for going to and from work, in-and-out of the car. I also bought a size small which actually fits a little baggy and balloons out. I can layer under the size small and use it for camping. On both sizes, the hood is big and roomy which is great.

I was hoping this would be a great winter jacket with the Omni heat. Unfortunately I found out after I took the tags off and wore it out once that if you are easily chilled this will not keep you warm in a MN winter. I have heard great things about Omni heat and would have gladly exchanged for a heavier (2 layer coat) if I could have. So if you order maybe stand outside with it for awhile before taking tags off.

It ran a little small for me compared to the measurements but it still fit me well. If you're looking to use this as an outer layer with additional inner layers, I'd order a tad bigger than what you measure yourself with. There's little niche things that make this jacket great - things like thumbholes and assorted pockets. I got it in a medium and it's a little tight, but I plan on just using this jacket without many inner layers. Water proofing seems solid and best of all, this jacket looks GOOD! It does take a little bit to "warm up" but it doesn't restrict movement and kept me warm!

Since I am always cold, I was looking for a nice warm coat for winter for walking the dog, waiting at the bus stop, playing in the snow with the kids, etc. I read reviews for this and other Columbia coats and thought this one would fit my needs. Unfortunately, I don't find it warm at all, so I only use it on mild winter days. The styling and fit is nice and flattering, but I'm disappointed with how warm it is.

I followed the reviews and sized up to a large from my usual medium in Columbia. The bottom fit well but the top was super bulky in a rather awkward looking way. No amount of sweater wearing could justify sizing up for me. I think a medium would have fit great everywhere except my hips so I'll just be returning.

This is a nice kick around town coat but not for extreme temperatures due to the omni tech lining. review is more for the omni technology. I am a dog musher and winter camper. I am outside daily and in extremely cold temperatures. I purchased omni wear for warmth and found that it works as long as you are wearing it. if the garment is removed and exposed to coldtemperatures the omni lining becomes extremely cold and is counter productive and causes chilling if you put the garmet back on.

Omni heat may be warm if you are moving, but it isn't when you are standing still. I had also ordered the 650 turbo heat jacket and returned it as I thought the wind would blow up the bottom. Living in Minnesota I want a warm coat as I am a freeze baby. My 20 year old Columbia is warmer than this. Think I'll go back to a big down jacket. The fit is nice so am keeping for a fall coat.

This just costs too much for what you get. It was absolutely not warm unless layered with a fleece, but for the price it should come with one. The fit was ok, very slightly large, but not enough jacket for me

I'm 5'3, usually fit on the full side of M. For this jacket, the M was snug around the middle so I went up to size L. I have lots of room in the jacket now, which I can cinch up with the snow skirt. I love all the thoughtful details like the interior pockets, ski pass pocket, etc. Jacket is nice and light, omni heat definitely delivered, and the coat allowed me lots of movement while skiing last Feb. My problem? I bought this coat 11 months ago for a 3-day ski trip. Since then, I've just worn it occasionally, throw it on to run an errand, not any intense activity. The zipper tape and surrounding fabric is already shredded, and I can't close the coat anymore. I am not impressed with repair service policies, so I'm left with the options of fix it myself or retire it. I like this coat, but I expected a more durable garment.

I wanted to love this coat. It looks awesome, and would have fit my needs for playing in the snow with my young kids perfectly. However, it was way too tight in the shoulders, to the point where it restricted my movement. Ultimately I returned it. The interchange jacket I found was a lot better fit. I think it's the "active fit" one with this one that just made it feel too tight. I am 5'3" 125 lbs and ordered a M.

this may be a great coat for someone with a smaller bust, but for me- size med, but a 34DDD- this coat is terrible. it makes me feel super bulky, theres no range in motion, and i cant layer under it. the worst is if i sit, by lower back is exposed. it sat a my natural waist, which made me feel even more top heavy. like i said, if you have a small bust, this coat may work for you, but as someone with big breasts, this is not the coat you are looking for.

If your short then this coat would work. I'm tall and thin to short in arms and body.

I'm 5'4 and 135 pounds. The medium was a little too tight around my hips. When I went up a size it was way too big on top. I soon realized that ALL Columbia ski wear does not fit my body type. There isn't any stretch either. I recommend Obermeyer. It's a little more but well worth it!

Usually wear a large and read reviews about jacket running small so I ordered an X-large which was entirely too tight, so I returned this jacket which of course is an additional expense.

Surely I didn't purchase the same jacket that is being reviewed so highly here. This is one cold jacket!! I think the 'aluminum foil' interior attracts the cold. I wore it in 35-40 degree weather in NC hiking in the woods on a sunny day, and froze to death. Never got warm, kept getting colder. Layered with a fleece jacket underneath and still froze. Dunno how these folks in the colder, snowy climates managed to stay so toasty warm. I just don't see it. I will be returning it. (On a positive note, it fit great and I will be very sad to see that gorgeous purple go...)

The extra large was way to small and the only information enclosed was about returning the item nothing about how to exchange it for another size
