The product has good pockets , zipper and omni heat. However, I would expect more smooth outershell and the fleece jacket is kind of thin. The hood does not have insulation or padding inside. It is not what I was expecting since I bought it online but consumers who probably saw it in store have a better judgement before purchasing it.

I bought this Jacket in a large and ended up returning it for a medium. I am 5'4" and 140 lbs. I have enough room to wear a sweater under the jacket. Love the color (gray and pink). The Jacket is surprisingly warm even though it seems thin. A few things I wish had been included - more pockets. There is an inside pocket but only if you remove the fleece insert. There are hand pockets but no additional pockets on the outside. This is a three in one Jacket so you have to keep that in mind when you look at features. For example, there is no insulating n in the hood. This is great for a rain coat not as much for a winter type coat but I'm not sure what the solution would have been. Since the hood is removable, maybe an additional, insulated, hood. I wish this coat hand underarm zippers for ventilation as a rain coat. This said - there is another model with the these features.

The outer shell on the coat is good. I am pleased with the material and the sizing. On the other hand the inner shell is a disappointment. I was expecting the fleece to be a nice quality Columbia product that could be worn as a separate piece, but instead it is little more than felt. I will probably use one of my regular fleeces as a lining and throw/give the other away. I am definitely glad I didn't pay full price. And am only recommending because the outer shell is what I expected.

Ordered one for my wife preparing for a ski trip. She always wear S for Columbia's clothing so I ordered same size for this jacket. When it arrived and she was a little disappointed because it's so big than she can barely stick her hands out from cuffs when pointing arms downward. Had to initiate a return and replace process. In terms of quality of the jacket we received, it's pretty OK made but the whole jacket feels noticeably lighter than you would expect for a 3 in 1 ski parka. Heard saying that garment manufacturers always making different versions of products for their factory stores which has different size and quality comparing to standard products. I don't know if this is the case.

I owned an older style Bugaboo and was very happy with it so that's why I bought this one. When I tried this one on, however, it just didn't feel as well made as my first one. It felt oddly bulky in the mid section and I was wearing it with a sweater. The outer shell didn't have enough pockets - if I am outside cleaning snow I like a chest pocket for keys to equipment and/or phone. The fleece underneath also feels cheaply made and now the cuff has no elastic to seal out snow. I probably wouldn't have worn it alone. I purchased this with the intention of using it to go out in the snow for cleanup, casual outings, playing with younger family kids outside, and maybe a rare ski trip. I can't speak to warmth or how waterproof it is, as I have decided to return it.

Not as warm as my last interchangeable jacket. Also I miss the inside and left breast pockets

I got this jacket as a replacement for one I had from Columbia previously, which had Velcro all down the front and self-destructed! I haven't worn this one yet - I got it because it was the ONLY Interchange jacket I could find on the site, in the color I wanted, that did NOT have Velcro ALL the way up the front (only partway - and I am considering getting a seam ripper and removing it). I AGREE with this review of a similar Columbia jacket: " I kept this jacket only because it's the closest I could find to the last Columbia jacket I purchased, but I'm already wishing I hadn't kept it because the Velcro down the front placket of the jacket is sticking to everything and driving me crazy! When I take it off the hanger to put it on, I have to lay it down and pull the jacket apart because the Velcro pieces are stuck together. The Velcro sticks to my clothing and the Velcro pieces on the cuffs when I am putting the jacket on, as well as scratching my skin. AWFUL!!!" I am hoping against hope that this jacket will not shred itself along with all my scarves, etc. - but I URGE COLUMBIA TO LOSE THE VELCRO AND GO BACK TO SNAPS. Seriously. MAJOR design flaw.

I purchased the Bluebell. The color was much more vibrant than it looks online. The blue part was definitely brighter, almost purplish and the peach was more of a bright pink. Definitely not my color palette so I returned it. Also of note the sleeves are very open (even with the velcro at the bottom) which won't do for a Minnesota winter.

I have read many reviews that people felt this ran small but I completely disagree. I'm 5'4/125lbs/C cup and ordered a small. I tried on the Columbia Whirlibird in a store in small, if fit perfectly but they did not offer the color here on the website that I liked, as well as I own two other Columbia jackets in small so hence why I ordered a small. The sleeves are extremely too long and I look pregnant my husband said wearing this jacket. It's VERY baggy/big looking and I tried it on with a thick sweater. I'm extremely unhappy and should have just had the whirlibird ordered in a different color than I liked because as least I know it would fit properly. The red camilia whirlibird was not an option on their website like it was at a store that had it. I had someone order this jacket for me so now I'm stuck because it's too much of a hassle to mail it back to them to mail back to Columbia with the receipt that they have and then reorder another jacket all before my Alaska trip next month. Anyways, the point is if you're around my stats, I'd order an xs or know the small will be baggy. As usual with any Columbia jacket, it is well made/great quality.

This jacket is really thin. More like a rain jacket. I bought this jacket thinking it would be thick and warm for michigan weather. Not impressed with the thickness. Saw the alpine which also has the omni-heat on stores and it is slightly thicker. I hope the omni-heat does the trick.

Columbia Sportswear spoiled me and this new jacket did not live up to my expectations. It was difficult to see that the inside of the fleece liner is "metallic"? I was trying to replace my previous jacket that I've worn for about 20 years! My old Columbia jacket was two piece - black fleece with zippered pockets and waterproof shell (or greatly water resistant) shell with lots of pockets. My old coat snapped over the zipper, which I prefer. This new jacket velcros over the zipper and, if the jacket is open, the velcro sticks on your clothes ... a pain. The new fleece is lined with "metallic" material and it isn't as warm as my old fleece liner (only 40 degrees out and I'm cold wearing the new jacket with a turtleneck & wool sweater under it). They have a men's jacket in the same style as my old coat, but I couldn't find one in women's ... well, actually, I thought I had, but the photos did not make the metallic lining and velcro obvious. However, this is a very lightweight jacket and the shell is fully waterproof, so if that's what you're looking for, this will fulfill your requirements. It would probably be effective, if it were about 50 degrees outside. It's too snug to wear a heavy sweatshirt under the jacket.

Although the item seems to be very warm and comfy, I had to return it because the fit was a bit large. I'm usually a small in previous jackets but this one seemed to big, even with other layers beneath the jacket. Nonetheless, the material and as I mentioned, the warmth, seem great.

I wore it yesterday in 2 C/35F but was not really warm . May be I had higher hopes from this jacket. Also the inner fleece material is not good enough to be worn alone. So all in all its 2 jackets and not 3. My husband bought Mens bugaboo interchange jacket, his fleece jacket (gray in color ) was somewhat better than my white Fleece. But the not really upto the mark in terms of warmth. I liked the jacket otherwise . So I recommend it to people who are not looking for a really warm jacket. The emarald color is really nice .

I order this jacket online in a small because I have a raincoat in a small and it fits me great. When I tried the small on it was very large even with a hoodie underneath it. I was looking forward to this product and was highly disappointed. I would highly recommend getting a size or two smaller if ordering.

This jacket is definitely not for petite persons. I am 5'1'',108ibs. The x-small is still too large.

This jacket is warm and functional. It runs small and the zipper is cheaply made. I had it less than a year and had to replace the zipper head.

I was not a big fan of the outer layer exterior material. It was rough and made a lot of noise when friction of any kind was imposed. I personally was looking more for a casual cold day type of jacket, and this was not that type. It also ran big on me. I am 5'2" 125lbs and it was a lot bigger fitting than on display pictures.

i really liked the idea of interchangeable option plus the price was great at the end of last ski season. Tried to wear it skiing this year and was very disappointed. Inner jacket does not help with heat retention at all even though I had 3 more layers under it including wool sweater. This jacket is not wind proof so cold air goes right through. Because of that I could not ski for long. It is a nice jacket but it is not good for skiing. It should not be under that section on the website.

This coat looks great. Fit is wonderfull - not too tight or too lose and plenty of room to MOVE. However, this coat is not at all warm enough for a MN winter. I've had Columbia coats in this style before, and they have worked well. Maybe there was a redesign? If you are looking for something really warm - keep looking.
