These don’t feel like a 17 inch calf circumference. Definitely felt like I got the wrong size, wrong width, and non-wide calves. I can only wear these with tights and dresses because no jeans will fit down in them. I think it’s more of a 16 inch.. Would return them but I waited too long..

The bottom of these boots are poorly made otherwise they are nice. My feet hurt in them after an hour of casual walking.

I bought the original Penny in tan last year and they are my favorite boots. I was so excited to see them come back in more colors this year. I did not hesitate to buy the black. Unfortunately, they are not the same. This year, they added a lining, which I do not like. The original was unlined and the fit was much better. Also, this year, they are about 1 1/2 inches taller. That may work on someone taller than me but I am 5'4" and these boots came all the way up to my knee, looking silly. Sadly, I had to return them.

I wanted to love these as the styling is beautiful but because the top of the boot flares it, it looked a little strange. It made my calves look larger than they are. Width runs a little narrow so the wide felt more comfortable than regular width and I never wear wide shoes.

These boots are beautiful but......I ordered these boots in 8 Wide in both regular and wide calf. I received what I think are two pair of regular calf 8 Wide boots. Really wanted to love them but it was not meant to be. (1) They are not olive green. They are a greenish taupe, not a true olive. (2) Could not unzip the zipper all the way down to the heel so I could not get my foot into the foot of the boot so I cannot comment on comfort or arch support. (3)The regular calf would not zip up past my calf muscle so that did not help. (4) Tags in both pair of boots noted 8Wide foot but not wide shaft so back they go. They are really beautiful but just too much work for a busy working mom of three. The search continues.....

I am a true size 6.5 and went with the wide version based on reviews (I'm glad I did)! While the wide calf is wider than normal, it was a bit harder to zip about 1 inch below the top of the boot. It does grind on my ankle for some reason and I'm currently trying to stretch them. Overall, a better fit than most wide calf boots but go with your normal size in a wide version!

I’ve been in search of a new pair of leather riding boots for work where I’m on my feet throughout my entire 8-hr shift. I loved everything about this boot’s style with the exception if the leather material. The leather is very thin that I was afraid it would scuff easily after the first few wears. The leather is much softer, a bit more stretchy and has a shinier finish and appeared more cheaply made. I am also only 5ft1in with a 26inch pant inseam length so these came up a little bit too high where it was a little uncomfortable when climbing up stairs and folding and extending my legs. I also purchased the Naturalizer Jessie Wide Calf riding boots to compare with these and favored the quality of that pair’s leather (more dense and tougher texture with good seam stitching and reinforcement) over this one so I will be returning these. I really was hoping these worked out but just know they wouldn’t withstand my work shifts for long. It would probably be great for only casual wear here but that’s it.

The boots looked nice but they were way too narrow. I ordered a 9.5W, which is my normal size. Had I gone up a bigger size they would have been too long.

Fit was good, but the insole, what there was of one was uncomfortable, not very thick and if I'm wearing boots, I'm wearing them all day, need to be more comfortable... Could just be me???

Just a tad snug on foot. Calf fit perfectly. Two problems I have with these boots. 1-they look CHEAP! The leather is such a poor quality that I might as well have bought $40.00 man-made material boots. 2- They sag at the ankles. Made my cankles look more Cankley. I do like the zipper that runs the full length of the boot. The small buttons were a nice touch too. Waiting for the leather boots from Macy’s to arrive before I return this pair. They are $200.00 as opposed to $150.00 + from Zappos. I

I loved the look of these boots in the box--a nice basic riding boot without extra fussy straps or buckles. I always get boots with a wide calf and compared the written shaft circumference to my actual calf before ordering and expected they would fit well. But when I tried them on, the wide calf on these (I ordered a 10.5) was just too wide! They also felt narrow in the foot--sometimes I like to wear athletic socks with boots, instead of tights, but I didn't feel like that would work well for these. So, these were a miss for me and had to go back.

These are very small. Order 1 whole size up. The wide calf width was fine.

Love these boots. Was trying to replace a pair I bought several years ago and have worn out. Unfortunately it seems that the circumference has changed. My old pair were regular and fit my 15" calf perfectly. Now the regulars are a tad too small and the wide calf are much too wide. Will have to try and rehab my old pair because this boot has been great. Really comfortable and works with pants and dresses.

A really beautiful boot, soft leather. The wide calf fit great, however even though I went up a half size, the boot was too narrow and too small and I returned them.

Great cute boots, but I'm bummed that the wide is only 16 inches. I have a 16 3/4 inch circumference. Luckily the grey version of these comes with an 18 inch circumference. I just wish this color had the same calf width as the other colors.

Wide Calf, 8.5 W - returning as these run narrow in the foot and the shaft flares out a bit at the top. They fit my 16.3" calf with leggings and would also fit with some skinny jeans.

I was disappointed that these boots did not work for me because they are attractive and well made. They felt a little bit short and a little bit narrow. The wide calf version was big enough to zip over jeans, but there was too much width toward the bottom of the shaft. This made a wide curve that looked weird when you view the boots from the side. The shaft was also a bit short for my taste - I'm tall and it was more like cowboy boot height than knee length.

I wanted to LOVE these boots. I have been looking for a boot to fit my wide feet and when these arrived I couldn't wait to get them out of the box. The leather is gorgeous. The style is classic. The shaft seemed appropriate, but as soon as I looked at the footbed, I knew before even trying them on that they were too narrow, and probably a little short. I was unable to get the boots on. If you have a narrow, or regular foot, these boots will probably work great, but bunions or wide feet, keep looking. Because I couldn't actually get my foot in the boot, it is hard to truly evaluate the size or comfort.

The instep was way too small. The calves fit perfectly. Going to try a half size up

Wide enough for my wide calf (16") but I didn't like the shape of the toe, too pointy.

Way too tight in the foot and then about 3 1/2" too sloppy wide thru the calf...I was surprised since my calf measurement is about 16".

These are a beautiful boots, but they were tight in the shoe box and barely fit my calf. The zipper in back made it difficult to zip up.

Boots are way too narrow than wide. I ordered WIDE. I would keep them, i really like the style, but...i couldn't squeeze my feet into it.

I love the style and quality of these boots. Unfortunately, the sizing is a mess. The standard width is too narrow, though the wide seems more like the norm. The standard shaft size is super narrow, but the wide calf is super wide. There's no happy medium.

It's very frustrating to receive shoes that have falsely described sizing!
