This is the look I wanted, semi-moto and riding in one boot. The sole is flexible, so important. I also have muscular calves, walking up hills in San Francisco, these wide calf boots fit perfectly! Really nice, let's see how they hold up.

These boots looked pretty good in person, but there was a lot of slouch around the ankle that made them not look right on me. I have 16 inch calves, so maybe I wasn't able to pull them up high enough to remove the wrinkles. It could have been that the leather was thinner and less rigid than my other boots.

Really cute boots. The only issue I have with them is that the foot part is pretty stiff and even though I ordered wide it doesn't feel wide at all. I'm keeping the boots and hoping that they stretch out a little.

Beautiful boot! Just not wide enough for my 18" calves :( They zipped up, but no room for leggings or jeans. Very attractive style and look. Definitely recommend for ones with 17" calves or smaller. Really wish these worked for me but my calves are just too muscular.

Ok, so I left an initial review because I was mad they didn't fit out of the box (well the left one didn't) I ordered the wide to accommodate my calves. So after reading other reviews I decided to get my sons to help me stretch the left one and low and behold I got it to zip up. It is tight, but I am wearing it today to see if it will stretch and so far so good. These really are beautiful boots and they are wide so maybe the cold weather made the leather draw up more on one, I don't know. So my advice is if they dont fit out of the box, stretch them some and see if they will loosen up.

Great boot! Great quality for the price and the wide calf is perfect for me. Wide enough that I can also wear them with jeans. The color is very true to the picture, a great neutral color. I only gave a 3 for comfort since I haven't worn them for any long duration and not sure how comfortable they really are.

I love the style of this boot but sadly they did not fit. I ordered an 8 wide with regular calf and the shoe was huge but calf so tight I could barely zip up. I exchanged for 7.5 wide and wide calf and the toe box was too narrow for my bunion and the wide calf was huge! It was almost double the size of the regular calf. Sadly these are going back :(

Love the style and look of this boot. I ordered a wide with because of a high instep and they fit OK but I think a bit narrow for a wide with. I like them so much that I will keep them and hope they stretch a little as I wear them. They will be OK as long as I don't have heavy socks on.

Wow, were people right when they said these run narrow! I wear an 8 1/2, sometimes 9, so I ordered these in 8 1/2 to start. It was almost painful to put them on and I couldn't even zip up past my heel. I'm going to try a size up and wide width and see if they work any better.

I purchased these boots in the whiskey and they are GORGEOUS. Too bad, they don't fit. I even purchased a 1/2 size larger than my normal size and could barely put my foot in (no socks or hose). However, I'm not giving up. I called for a exchange in a 1/2 size larger but wide width and ordered another full size larger in the regular width. So, hopefully I can find my fit. It's so hard to find leather boots that are wide calf and nice looking without paying an arm and leg. As usual Zappos customer service is THE BEST!!

These boots were super comfortable, but I was swimming in them! I tried the Penny Wide Calf in M next, and even those were quite large. I've always had wide calves but these are really extra wide.

These are great! I have wide calves and have had trouble finding boots that fit. They're a classic style that can easily be dressed up or down -- work or play. They're comfortable too. My first pair had a zipper that broke within a few days. =( Zappos customer service rocks and they replaced them immediately. I bought them for a business trip and they even offered to ship them to my hotel! The second pair has been wonderful. I have received many compliments on them. Order from Zappos without hesitation.

Originally ordered these in regular width, too snug on my "athletic" calves. These are just barely bigger, but enough to fit. Pretty loose around the ankle. I have not noticed these being short or narrow as other reviewers. Comfy, good grip on the sole, but I wouldn't choose these for travel, more for being cute.

Several times now, I have ordered and returned these boots because I just cannot get the correct fit! They are narrow, but I ordered the wide width to make up for that. I am usually an 8 medium width, but I go a half size up in boots. That half size up is just too big on this boot-they feel floppy in the heel and the toe looks curled up-too long. I just love the style and the features to these boots-the back zipper and snap, the outside top of the boot is taller than the inside. I like the low heel. Really good looking and not as "clunky" looking as many others that I have tried on. I will get the black, because I didn't like that strange "polish" on the heel and toe of the other colors-looked like a shoe shine gone wrong!

Love them, but not keeping them. I typically can wear an 8.5-9 reg.width or 8-8.5 wide. I have wide calves 17" COLOR: a little lighter than expected. WIDTH:The wide doesn't feel wide. I got 8.5 wide and it feels like regular fit. LENGTH: The 8.5 is very long its about 1.5in from top of toe to tip of boot. CIRCUMFRENCE of CALF around the calf was GREAT. I could actually zip them up around some light weight pants. They were snug, but still had room and were not cutting off the ciculation and did not make a buldge. OVER ALL opinion is the 8.5 felt like a size 10 regular. RECOMMEND: Regular width feet people buy one size down in a wide width. Narrow feet buy one size down in regular. Bummed I have to return them, but I just can't wear them that long, and a size down I believe will be too narrow. HARD TO FIND NICE QUALITY BOOT WITH WIDE CALF! I will take suggestions---prefer real leather!

These boots are beautiful and well priced. I needed a wide calf boot and the only type of boot I have been able to find to fit my wide legs was a stretchy back style. Not many of them out there that don't look really cheap. I ordered my usual size 10 in a WIDE width based on other customer reviews I read. I also read some customers said the leather in the leg had the potential to stretch out over time. I read the max stretch could be up to 18" so I thought I would take a chance. When I received them, I couldn't believe how pretty they were, but I was nervous about trying them on. I first tried them on at the end of the day. I was so disappointed that I couldn't zip them. The elastic piece at the top inside really needed to go the entire length of the inside calf. I was ready to return them, but decided to wait until morning to try them again. This time I left them zipped except about 1" at the top and pulled them on that way! I got them on and was able to zip them the rest of the way up. Now I can wear them until they stretch out enough through he entire leg. Although I didn't buy these boots from Zappos (because they were out of stock), the live chat with the Zappos person was very helpful, and so were the many customer reviews I read! I had to post to let everyone know about the boot itself, the wonderful customer service from Zappos and the great and helpful reviews from other buyers.

I'm usually right on the edge between wide calf and regular, and I originally ordered Penny in a 7.5 M. When they arrived, I couldn't even get my foot in to the boot because the foot was so narrow, so I figured to be on the safe side I'd order a 7.5 W in wide calf. The foot is still somewhat narrow, and can get slightly uncomfortable after standing all day as my feet start to swell (I stand/walk all day for work), but the boots are gorgeous and so soft! The wide calf is much wider than the original, and it does gap a bit even under jeans and there's still plenty of room. I am contemplating ordering them in black as well because I've had such a hard time finding boots that I love!

My 17-inch calves fit these boots with plenty of room to spare, perhaps even too much room, and I figured I was past my biggest hurdle: getting my calves in, which has doomed many boots. On to the next challenge: foot width. The foot bed for the W version was seemingly wide enough, but I could tell my toes might end up with blisters--just no room to wiggle without hitting into stiff leather. And yet, if that were it, I might have kept them and thought I just needed to break them in. Walking in them, though, just didn't feel right underfoot. I thought about exchanging them, but ultimately I found the boot I really wanted at a great price, and I'm ecstatic about them, so the Penny Wide Calf is going back. For the price, though, a nice shoe. The material is a bit thin but you'll be the only one who knows that--boot is attractive, though it had more yellow in its undertone than the red that I had hoped to see.

These are nice boots and I find them comparable to the soft leather of my Frye boots. They fit wide calves comfortably but are more narrow across the width of my toes than expected. I hope they will stretch once I wear them.

Oh my goodness. I have searched for wide-calf boots that actually fit for two years! I can't tell you how many I have tried on that wouldn't even zip. Yes, wide calf. Then, I got these. Not only do they zip, but there is extra room for jeans with breathing room! My only complaint is that the foot of the shoe is a little small. Since these are leather, I suspect that may soften a bit. But, I can live with that because they zip!

These are comfortable overall. The back zipper is taking some getting used to at the heel. These do run narrow like other reviews have said. I have a narrow foot and was surprised at how narrow they are but they do stretch out a bit after one wear. I was unable to fit into the regular calf size. I'm not sure they would have ever stretched out enough to fit. The wide calf is comfortable and I didn't find it to be too wide to the point that it looks too big. Overall they are a nice boot.

I really loved these boots when I saw them online and even took the chance when I read that the foot is very narrow. I'm a size 7 and I got a size 7.. the shaft of the boot fits Perfectly around the calves. I love how the top part by the knee has a small gap. The only gripe is that the foot of the boot is soooo narrow (I know, I never listen). I put them on and wore them into work and my feet were HURTING. I thought for sure I would need to return them. However, about an hour later, I think the boots started to stretch out. My feet no longer hurt and they are actually pretty comfortable lol. I guess you have to go through a little pain for these boots to be a winner?

Great boots. Initially tight across the top of the foot but has quickly loosened up. I didn't realize the top of the boot shaft was tapered. It's fine, just not what I expected. Very nice leather, great looking boot.

I really wanted to love these boots! I first ordered them in gray in my normal size 11M, but I did not love the gray color (it was a little light) and the boot was very tight in the footbed, and the calf width seemed a little tight as well. I then ordered them in black in a size 12M, and while I liked the black color, the calf was gaping. It looked ridiculous. And the bulge in the calf did not even match up with where my calf is widest. This could be because I am really tall (6'1") and have long legs, but I have not had the same problem with other boots. On the positive side, the style is beautiful and the leather is buttery soft. I was definitely bummed that these did not work out for me.

I really like these boots. They are a bit more stylish and dressier than regular riding boots. Unfortunately, I could not find the right fit. They were a little to big or a little too small and the 1/2 size was not available. I love Zappos where I always get to shop until I find what I want.
