This is a great color and material. Very thick and texture avoids slipping even in hot classes. But the rubber smell has not gone away after a few uses and spray downs with their mat. Kind of sad but this, but overtime will hopefully go away.

We wanted a mat that was eco friendly. The two mats we ordered are just that, great stickiness and work well for the home yoga. However, they are too heavy for the biweekly trips (for my husband and me) to yoga class.

Bought this product 1 month ago for my Ashtanga Yoga teacher training in Thailand. It was a little heavy for the big travel so for traveling, I would recommend a thinner choice. Mat was great while it lasted, but after the third week it ripped near the middle. Not sure if I got a faulty product, or if I just used it with so much intensity in such a short period.

I bought this about a month ago and have been using it daily. I read a bunch of reviews saying that it had good grip, but it's honestly subpar compared to a couple other yoga mats I've owned. As soon as my palms get damp, they start to slip and I've got to use a grippy towel. Other than that, it's thick and supportive and a really great length. It's a bit heavier since it is denser than I thought it would be, but seems like it'll last a while! Also, I've used this mat at home and at a hot yoga class and it was good for both, although I enjoyed it more at home.

The mat works great but I've had it for a month now and it still smells very strongly like rubber even though we've been keeping it unrolled and outside to air out. Will not be buying this one again..

I generally am a fan of Manduka Yoga mats. I already own two eko mats. This one is a little lighter and thinner which can be felt at some asanas. The colour is not as blue as I had expected, it's more greenish, like turquoise. At first I was disappoined by the actual colour but i kept the mat anyway and now I am used to it.

It's a great mat besides the rubbery smell. I thought it 's new- that's why it's smelling. But unfortunately/ it doesn't go away.

Love the design but that side is too slippery. Use it on the flip side which works well.

Haven't used it as much as I'd like because toting it around work and town is less convenient than lighter mats.

Not enough grip for me. I get pretty sweaty (not doing hot yoga) and it didn't have enough grip for me.

This may is average, nothing special. Definitely not worth the money. I'm still slipping and sliding. Has a horrible smell. My entire class noticed the smell. I have to stop several times during class to wipe it.

I received this mat in December of 2017 and have been using it inside since. As others have noted, the natural rubber does have a weird smell that never does go away-- I eventually got used to it. This is the first sustainable and EXPENSIVE mat that I have ever purchased and I am very disappointed in the quality as it is now tearing in a couple of spots. The inexpensive Target mat that I had for 10 years prior to purchasing this one actually looked better. The mat is substantial (heavy), plush and sticky, which I liked. I feel strongly that I sustainable product should last a long time, especially at this price point. Disappointed.

My mom researched and bought this mat for me as a Christmas gift. I loved it at first, glance (aesthetics are great!). However, during my Hot Yoga Vinyasa practice...I cannot stop slipping. It is so disappointing :( I expected more from Manduka. As a yoga teacher, I unfortunately would not recommend this to my yogis.

I bought this mat about one month ago, used it twice but it is much too slippery for an energetic yoga class. Is it too late to return? i have only used it twice and then i bought a second yoga mat (natural rubber) from manduka that is awesome.. great feel.. solid, not slippery, not heavy, truly the mat i have been looking for...

I found the mat to be quite hard and cold. It was bought for me about one month ago. It is not slip that is true but it doesnot allow the feet to slide if you want to extend once in a pose. For hot yoga it may be great?

I bought this with the expectation that it would be good to use in hot yoga. the material expands to much and doesn't let me get a good firm grip with my feet. I would look at other mats for the price.

I've had this mat for about a year and it still has the rubber smell. I can't use it without my clothes and skin smelling of rubber. If not for that, I think it would be a good mat. I don't slide around on it, and it seems to be good padding.

Had an older Manduka mat that was starting to show some wear. Decided on new Manduka. Chose this mat because it was longer, liked the color. Received mat in Feb of last year. I expected the smell, which in time does fade. However, to date, this mat is still slippery!!! But have to make due as it wasn't a cheap mat!

Though recommended for hot yoga after taking the mat quiz, I find it is extremely slippery with very little grip. I was hoping to not need a towel constantly, but with this mat I find I would.

I bought this after hearing that Mandela is the best mat. I thought the Eko would be good for better grip. I was wrong. I literally tried it for 5 minutes and was slipping. Because of the horizontal line imprint, it feels like your palms are getting a rug burn as they slip. I was so sad and thought maybe I was overthinking things, so I thought I'd give it another shot the next day. Again, just about 5 minutes of practice and I was slipping in downward dog. Also, the mat was WAY heavier than any other mat I've ever used. I know they say it is natural rubber, but it smells so strong of horrible rubber. You can tell that the mat is good quality, but because of all of these things, I made the decision to return the mat. Thankfully the return process was easy.
