Why I love this mat: -great sturdy, cushion feel while not feeling flimsy/squishing underneath body weight -eco friendly material! -topical finish helps with hand/feet slipping (as long as youre dry!) What I'm less stoked about: -strong fishy/plastic smell...but I have read that fades, I'm only a month into my use and it's still pretty strong... -a bit heavy for toting back and forth to the studio -i don't normally do heated yoga so this hasn't been an issue, but I just took one class and the mat felt really slippery while my hands were sweaty

Bought this for my hot Vinyasa class. Get very sweaty and the mat get slippery. This mat works better. A little heavy to bring to and from class

I tested the mat out in a hot yoga class. I decided to use a towel to help absorb sweat. The towel did move around a bit so I'm not sure how slip-proof the mat actually is; however, I will have to try it without a towel at my next hot yoga class to know for sure. The mat may be better suited for regular and warm yoga classes instead. That being said, the mat is beautiful and does support my joints very well.

I bought this mat two months ago for my hot power yoga class. Although it is by far one of my favorite yoga mats it is still really slippery and have to bring a towel in order to be comfortable during class.

I shelled out the cash for this mat about a month ago, and I'm very glad I did. I'm quite new to yoga, and had been finding difficulty with a thin, generic mat because certain parts of my body would hurt in pretty basic poses. This mat is dense enough that my palms and knees don't hurt when I use it. I love that it's environmentally friendly. The color is beautiful and vibrant. The only issue I have is that it takes a bit of time to get the natural rubber smell to fade. Still worth the purchase. Recommending this to my friends. I may even get my sister one for Christmas.

Their performance and product quality is extraordinary. It's squishy though - I think 5mm is too much squish/depth for me. I practice vinyasa flow and rocket (lots of time on my hands). My teacher is concerned the give in the mat will be unhealthy for my wrists. Perhaps this mat is better for someone who is on their knees a lot and wants extra support, or restorative? I love the feel of the top of the mat, and even in a crazy hot rocket class I never slip or need to use a mat towel. Oddly, handstands and other balances feel easier. But I'm concerned about whether sinking a bit more into the mat will strain my wrists. I'm trying to figure out whether to keep it or try another Manduka mat style. I love the colors on this La Reina mat too - I love the new cool design options like this and the limited edition artist mats.

Got the mat and the quality is great. The traction is just right for the type of yoga I do. The only thing is that after the initial cleaning, the scent of the mat still lingered for about at least a week. It was rather strong. But other than that I love the mat since then!

It's good and nice to practice on. Like manduka pro better.

I bought this a few weeks ago, and its great. Love the colors and the grip. Hope to break it in nicely with more use.

I love the pattern and color. Smells so bad of rubber, even after a month of use

It's a very comfortable mat... BUT I've been airing it out for weeks and the smell is not going away. Makes my apartment smell. My yoga instructor noticed how sour the smell becomes during class. Will not purchase again.

We've had our mats for about 5-6 months and we are in love with the pattern and color, it reminds us of the ocean. We were very happy to get a natural rubber mat and actually enjoyed the new mat smell for the first few weeks. We knew these mats would be heavy compared to traditional mats but we wanted something slightly thicker for our hardwood floors and these are the perfect match. The heaviness took a little getting used to as far as transporting or rolling them up so we usually just keep them indoors in our living space. the only complaint I have it that our mat was very sticky at first and worked great with poses like downward dog but now it's pretty dry and sometimes I slip. I'm not sure if there's something I should be doing to prevent that. Overall we are very happy knowing we have a sturdy mat that doesn't offgas nasty chemicals like so many other mats!

Also it doesn't fit easily into the yoga mat bags Manduka sells due to the size. It could be very good if you have knee problems, as it's very padded, and if you only plan to use it at home.

it's very firm at the beginning, but turn slippery after I clean it by simply water. and bottom phrase appear sand like material.

I was so looking forward to my mat. I like the thickness but still slips a lot and leaves a yellow mark on my hands after use. Hope the more I use it the less slippery

I really tried to love this pad but have found that it is slippery as soon as my hands get a little sweaty. Similarly to other reviews. Plan on trying the salt scrub this weekend. It has been in use since July 4 or 5 days a week.

Very happy with this mat. It is comfortable, large, attractive, And safe. The only inconvenience is that I store it flat in my house to let it off gas. Otherwise it smells a little much like forever.

I received this as a gift. Love it the only thing is that is heavy for me.

I had a lot of problems with many yoga mat because always glide..but with this incredible mat is impossible.. the only problem is that is so heavy to carry in other place!
