Better looking in person! So happy that I pulled the trigger on my first pair of Frye's. I have thinner calves and these boots fit perfectly and do not gap at the top, though with enough room for skinny jeans. Buy them; you won't regret it!

They are fabulous. It did take three tries to get the correct size. I read other reviews and ordered one size smaller. I usually wear a 9.5 but ordered a 9. Unfortunately because they are pull on, I just could not get them on. I reordered a 9.5, then one foot felt larger than the other. I was determined to have these boots, so I ordered them one more time. Like they say, "3 times the charm." They are perfect and I can't wait for the weather to change.

I've been wanting a new pair of boots forever and I've always liked Frye's styles. They do run probably half a size bigger and they're more narrow than I thought they'd be. They are also slightly loose in the ankle. Despite the fact that these boots probably are slightly too tall for me, I kept them. They are quality boots, leather and make. Color and style are great, you can wear them with jeans and skirts. I'm about 5'2 and the boots don't look funny on me but they would look perfect if they were 1/2 an inch shorter. Shorter people can still pull them off. You really can't beat the quality.

I had been coveting a pair of these for SO long, and I finally took the plunge when I saw some of them on sale. I ordered my normal size, even though I had read many reviews suggesting to order a 1/2 size up. I ordered the dark brown brush off leather. I have to say that they looked very different than they had on line when they arrived. However, the fit was great and I had minimal difficulty getting them on and off. I'm sure this would have been non-existent with age and wear. But the look and texture of the leather was the deal-breaker for me. Not only were they vastly different from the picture, the leather seemed stiff rather than supple. They still smelled fantastic though! I wanted to exchange them to see if a different hide would look better, but they no longer have this type of leather. I don't quite understand, but dark brown brush off leather is apparently different than dark brown brush off? Still doesn't make sense to me, but sadly, they are going back.

Beautiful leather, but tough to pull on and I have narrow feet and calves, and quite a hard footbed, so not too comfortable. I would say about half this would be a more reasonable price.

I just wasn't crazy about this boot. I read one review that stood out to me and should have listened: this boot doesn't look great on long legs. I'm 5'9" with long legs and they hit me at an unflattering point. Overall, the shape of this boot head on kind of looks like a rain boot. I think it'd look good on a shorter person with thinner legs but it just didn't work for me. I exchanged for the Shirley Strappy and I'm thrilled with that purchase. Frye boots are beautiful and feel like they'll last forever. And of course, I'd like to note: Zappos customer service is amazing. They will always have my business because of this!

I had tried the Melissa Button on in a store and really liked them, so I ordered the brown antique leather in 6.5. It was nice but the style is really rather plain for the price and the 6.5 was too big. So I sent them back and ordered the Paige Stud in a 6, which I love!

Love the style and how it looks on but I had a very hard time getting them off. I felt like I was a frog laying on my back trying to get the boots off. Getting them on was easy with the taps on the side to hold on to. My horse riding friends told me about the boot holder but that seemed too much work. Otherwise the boots were near perfect in every way. It was beautiful, perfect leather, and comfortable. But I returned these for Melissa button back zipper.

They don't seem to fit with my personal style.

I desperately wanted to love these boots. I bought them for a birthday present to myself and I have lusted after them for months but there were some definite issues and I'm returning them. First, the good: the leather is gorgeous. Soft, luxurious, beautiful. The problems: They were extremely difficult to get on. I wear a 6.5 and have a slender leg, but really had to work at pulling these on. Once I managed to get them on, there was something on the inside of the boot that was scraping against my heel. The boots are the right size, I just think that they are too narrow in the ankle maybe? I could've dealt with the difficulty of pulling them on and off, except that they bunched in the ankle when they were on and were too wide in the calf. I think these really could use a zipper. If I hadn't spent so much money on them, I would've considered keeping them due to the gorgeous leather, I just couldn't justify the price for something that didn't work.

Loved the way they looked online and in the box-but when I put them on and looked in the mirror I kept thinking "rubber gardening boots". Just couldn't get past that. The fit was good except for the arch support, which was at the back of my arch instead of the middle of it. Kind of dissappointing for all the hoopla over Frye boots.

I was obsessed with these boots... online. I finally made the decision to buy them because it was exactly what I was looking for sleek, simple, and cute. I was so disappointed to get them. Such a disappointment. The sizing was way off too because I normally am a 9 1/2 when I had to get one in a 9 and one 8 1/2 and my sister and I both ordered it and had the same problem when this has never happened before. The boots are just so disappointing. The quality is less than superb and overall they're just not what I wanted. I mean, I was obsessed with these, but that quickly went away when I got them. I'd definitely try these on elsewhere before buying from Zappos because they are not all they're cracked up to be.

Beautiful boot, really beautiful. Darling proportions, exquisitely shaped, but just too darn tight to get on. I would have tried ordering a size up, but I think I would have ended up getting the boot on but it would have been too loose round the foot. If you have contorting pixie feet I'd definitely give these a try!

Apart from not being able to get it on (too tight round the ankle), I did not like the leather effect.

While the boot was clearly of very high quality and it was beautiful, I could not get it on my feet. And believe me, I tried, and tried, and tried. I have high arches and after googling, I see this is a very common issue with Fryes. Sadly I think the brand is a pass for me. Be aware with this finish that it's QUITE vintage/covered in a chalky dust. Pretty but could be a surprise if you think it will be gently weathered.

I really wanted to love these boots. The leather is gorgeous and high quality. Unfortunately they bunched at the ankles and were a little long in the foot. Sadly, they are going back. My quest for perfect boots continues.

I have read a lot of great reviews about Frye's shoes and today I got my first pair. What a disappointment. The leather is stiff and cheap looking. You really feel the stitches once your feet are inside the boots and it is very uncomfortable. There is no traction on the bottom of the shoes, and it can be very slippery situation. I was so looking forward to these boots, but I have to return them.

Beautiful pair of boots but a bit on the narrow side. Also, the sole is slippery and the boot itself is a bit hard to break in. Unfortunately, I'm going to save myself the pain and going to return. May try a size bigger. Other than that, they are lovely boots!

A couple of notes on this boot: the arch was high (I guess I have flat feet). The boot is kind of flappy at the ankles. I'm willing to forgive this in taller boots, but shorter ones look too squatty. Also, the antique grey is brown like the picture suggests. Don't hope for grey boots!

I love Frye boots and own several pairs, all a size 7. I ordered the Melissa button in a 7 and I am swimming in it. Also, the leather does not seem as nice as the leather on the Veronica Slouch.

This boot looks like something from a John Wayne movie, that old and that rustic. If this is the look you want, this is the boot for you. Very broken-in look. (hence the style 5 stars.) They scratch up easy. The surface looks like it will flake off. I wore these boots around the house and scuffed up the bottom of the boot so they are my expensive boots to go to the barn in. Great boots for horse riding. I have a 7.5 foot and ordered the 8 and need to wear Smart Wool socks. These boots would look great with anything jean.

I loved the look, feel, and smell of this boot (really lovely leather scent). I did have a tough time getting my high arched feet in them. They are the right size once I get them in though. I usually wear a 6 but the 5.5 fits my feet once inside. These are comfortable and beautiful. I do need to exchange them though because after one wear the stitching is coming out at the top of the boot. For this price, that should not happen with the first wear. I am hoping Zappos will rectify this somehow.

I like this boot a lot. Nice quality. However, if you have any muscle in your calves, they will be too tight. Have to send back.

The boots are beautiful - they are a gorgeous riding boot. The leather is wonderful. I got the gray because I envisioned wearing them with black pants. I ordered an 8 but couldn't get my feet into them because the ankle part was so tight. They seemed like they would be really comfortable though.

This boot is nice but I am returning it because it has a white film that does not show in the picture and makes the boot look cheap.
