I've always bought the standard Chuck's and they are okay, but they aren't the most comfortable, they "squeak" for at least the first few months, and they don't last very long. So when I found the Chuck 70s I was excited that maybe paying more would eliminate all of these problems. While they do look to be better constructed, I can say they squeak even more, and are very uncomfortable. I've never wanted to take shoes off at the end of the day as much as these. I'm hoping they at least last longer, but right now, these were a total waste of money.

The shiny toe cap is just not for me - can’t decide if it’s chic or cheap.

I ordered my shoes 1/2 size smaller than normal due to reading the other reviews. Should have gone a full size smaller!

FIRST EVER POOR CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE WITH ZAPPOS! This review is just about the converse brand or the fact that the shoes run over a full size to BIG! But, this was the first time I had a poor customer experience with Zappos ... I really NEVER thought that would happen! I purchased these shoes for an event and ordered the size I always order and felt comfortably doing so because 88% of the customers say they run true to size. When the shoes arrived, to my surprise they were HUGE! So, I did what I normally do and selected the "Live Help" chat at the top of the page. Unfortunately no one could help or even provide a solution due to it was Friday and I needed the shoes on Sunday...all I was told is the earliest I could get a new pair was Monday. That was it... I was then told to have a great day and the chat ended. BIG INCONVENIENCE! The specific shoe is only offered in select stores and the closest one to me is over 1.5 hours away. I feel horrible about leaving this review because Zappos really has great customer experience....most of the time!

I don't know, I wasn't a big fan of these. The rubber was very glossy. They were a bit wide, and they sounded like shoes when walking. Also, they lacked the lace retainer on the tongue. No, I'll stick with the less expensive contemporary Ox.

The ad advised ordering this shoe a full size smaller than your customary size. I went for a half size. Should have listened! Why not just size them right, in the first place???

The reviews and even item description tell you to order a smaller size. Don't order a smaller size! In fact, don't order this style at all. I don't know what they're thinking, or maybe the problem was fixed. I wish I had ordered my normal size, and in the normal style Converse. Don't waste extra money on these shoes, they're not worth it.

i am very disappointed, the quality is terrible!! they are paper thin and flimsey.i wear a wide size, but they don't offer one on the website.

They ruined a classic by making the rubber so shiny. Why on earth would they have done that? They looks stupid now.

Seemed long and toe cap was narrow. So tried half size smaller was too narrow. Real hard to find a good fit in these shoes. Still trying. Zappos is great

The fit and size were just OK. The shoe was cheaply made. The top of the shoe was hard, the tongue was thin and barely pulled forward enough to tie the strings over it. The outer sole looked like it was plastic and was very shiny. I was very disappointed as this is not the same shoe I have one in the past. I returned for a refund.

I was so excited to get these sneakers, but I'm mostly unhappy with them. I went a half size down at first, but they were still too big, so I ordered a full size smaller than my normal size. They fit decently, but these are very hard to break in. They feel hard around my feet and after wearing them for a full day, I get blisters on the sides of my feet and the shoe cuts into my ankle. I've worn them several times and it's the same thing each time. The extra padding is nice, but it's nothing incredible. You're better off with a cheaper pair and throwing in an insole. Finally, the rubber is shinier than the average Converse sneaker. Not the end of the world, but I'm not a huge fan. There are lots of good reviews of this shoe, so it may be worth it for some. I just personally wouldn't recommend.

I've probably burned through about 7 or 8 pairs of the Core Ox Chuck Taylors already...even though not as durable as I would like, they're comfortable and is usually broken-in in a matter of days. I ordered this "'70 Core Ox" after the hype and positive reviews...and boy was I disappointed. The toe area is narrower, it's stiffer, and still not broken in after weeks of wearing it daily. And the most annoying at all are those laces! It's narrower and has tendency to unlace itself easily. Suffice to say, I'm back to the Core Ox and will never buy any of these special editions again...except for specific John Varvatos editions (which are true to size with Core Ox). Don't buy the hype...just like the Chuck Taylors II, this is not worth the "upgrade."

More narrow than the already narrow original. If this works for you, then you will find they provide a little more heal and ball support. Arch support is average.

I adored these shoes. They fell apart within 6 months. So disappointed.

These are not the standard low top. They have a different toe box and outside look to them. My daughter wore them so they cannot be returned but they have torn her feet up for heel to toe. She has owned many CTs over the years. This order was very disappointing

Pretty disappointed. They look great, but were pretty uncomfortable and after only a few months the sole started to detach from the rest of the shoe. I probably won’t buy another pair.
