Typically wear women’s size 6 but ordered a full size down. The length and width fit well. The toe box is slightly more snug than Core Ox so if you typically wear wider sizes, than go down by ½ size.The padding is noticeably thicker than the Core Ox style. The heel is a bit loose for me but I plan to buy heel pads so it won’t rub the back of my ankle.

The fit was well, get a half size down. But the field surplus is more green in person than charcoal grey like the color depicted in the picture. The rubber toe caps on mine were asymmetrical, so I may be exchanging them for a pair that doesn't have one exceptionally small rubber toe cap and one large one.

These shoes are a great option for those who like a converse but want a little more cushion in the sole. I ordered my regular size and they fit just right. BEWARE! Obsidian is DARK NAVY! Not black! I had to return and order true black but other than that, great shoe.

Would've loved to keep this All Star 70 OX... BUT even ordered half size larger than the regular All Star Chuck Taylor, this style is waaaay too tight around the forefoot and toe box, much narrower, too pointy and really long compares to the regular All Star, this felt like wearing clown's shoes! Despite the extra cushion in this 70 style (and more expensive), the regular Classic All Star-Chuck T. in size 7 feels better to walk in (and a lot cheaper), more room in the forefoot, not as tight as this style which made toes all cramped up and uncomfortable. Love this "enamel red" colour though, but with all that said... had to send them back.

These chuck taylor sucks! The insoles doesn’t have cushion or arc support. Also they are really narrow. Particularly in the front.

Ugh! I read many reviews that were so positive and am so disappointed! The shoes seem narrow in the toe area. Something my old pair are not. There is a definite visual difference between my current ones and these as well. Also don't like that they are made in Vietnam. My son even said they look like fakes. Going back!

Unfortunately these looked clownish in a size 10 so I returned. The materials were stiff and the toe was much more pointed than I expected.

I've got the 'Field Surplus' green with white trim & laces, they look great! Felt about a half-size long, but this seems typical with this style of shoe, like with Vans. The updated sole is soooo much comfier than the old ones. I add a foam insole for added support and life, it's like walking with (flat) sponges on my feet. As typical with these canvas shoes, a little rubbing/chafing near the tongue and top eyelets when tied tight, and heel wants to slide out. But if you're used to this style, you're used to it. Still holding up as a weekend sneaker, after almost 3 years. Tread is holding up fine, trim and toe just scuffed up as usual, a little fading and blotching of the green canvas due to water. Very happy still, they are much more comfortable than the OG Chucks, while keeping the look.

The All Star '70 is the ONLY ChuckTaylor you will ever want or need.

The original pair that I ordered were too big for my grandson. Zappos did a great job with the exchange for the correct size. My daughter said the customer service at Zappos was the best she ever dealt with!

Generally cut large. I typically wear a 13 in sneakers and was able to get away with a 12 in these. It’s been quite a few years since I purchased a pair of converse and I don’t ever recall the quality being at this level. In addition, these were super comfy. They have a cushiony removable insole that felt amazing. Classic style, great quality. Overall, very happy with this purchase.

I LOVE THESE. But believe this and other reviews: these are not the mass marketed $50 Converse we've all grown accustomed to. They're heavier, thicker canvas, run big like a lot of Converse styles, and the "white" soul is what I'd call a "retro" colored white. They totally look vintage and despite ZERO arch support, they're more comfy because they're so much thicker. i.e. your foot is further away from the ground cushioned by heavy rubber. i won't go back to the normal style. I'll totally buy more of these '70 Ox.

I have several pair of Converse and Jack Purcells - these are AMAZING. They're substantial, padded, and very cool-looking. I honestly don't think I'll order any other style from now on! Definitely go a half-size down.

These brought me back to my youth. I tried the cheaper version and didn't like them. I got these and remembered why i used to wear them all the time. I wear 12 in underarmor and 11.5 in most everything else. I got the 10.5 and they fit perfect. Very happy with this purchase. I want to get the hightops but I'm not sure how they'll fit. I think they would be too hard to put on and take off. But get these. If you're old school and like comfort these are for you

I bought and shipped these sneakers to my 60 year brother who is in a long term care facility in NY. The nurses told me they fit him very well and he put them on right away and wears them every day!

The sunflower color is fantastic. They run half to whole size large (I’m usually a 10, wearing a 9 1/2). The insole cushion is nice, but needs more in the heel.

THE BETTER OPTION! Chuck Taylor's are Chuck Taylor's, right? Well, not in this case. These are so much better made than the standard versions. First off, there are noticeable style differences with the stitching on the side near the toe and along the tongue. There is not a label on the tongue itself, and the label on the back is different. Also, the rubber on the sides comes up a bit further which makes the black strip on the rubber appear to be narrower on the toe. This, of course, is a matter of taste, but I prefer this look. The laces are a tad thinner and I actually like the wider laces (5/16' width), so I simply replaced them and all is good. The fit is 1/2 size large, so while I wear a 10 in the standard version, I had to get a 9.5 in the '70 Ox version. I first bought the same size and when compared sole to sole, the do indeed run large. There is a substantially better insole in this version as well. And furthermore, it can be removed which means I can put in my Superfeet insoles instead, which is a huge bonus I was not expecting. When I do that, the fit remains the same and now I have a more familiar feel to my other shoes… I swap the Superfeet insoles from shoe to shoe and basically all my shoes feel the same because of that. Bottom line, these are well worth the extra $30 in my opinion. So long as the style differences are ones you like… go for it!

I followed the guidance of other reviewers and ordered a full size smaller than my normal shoe, which is a *half* size smaller than a standard Chuck Taylor. That worked out exactly right for me. As others have noted, they do need some extra time to break in compared to the standard Chucks. Chucks are my everyday shoes, so I'll be interested to see how these wear over time compared to the regular ones.

I love the look of this pair of shoes! They definitely have more weight to them than Converse All Stars. Order a half size down for a proper fit.

For Converse sneakers I was told and always go a full size smaller than my normal. So I get a woman’s 7 rather than 8. I checked out the 7.5 recently thinking I might need an extra size larger, but had to return for 7 because I could tell my heel would be rubbed badly if I didn’t. The 7 is perfect for me. Also, more cushioning on the 70’s style. Bought to replace old black chucks, although I know I won’t be able to toss them ?. Super psyched to grab these because my size sells out quickly! Love love love!

i love the style of the '70s chucks. so cool and super-shiny rubber. pretty unique compared with other chucks. as with all chuck taylors, these run 1/2 to a full-size big. i typically wear a 9 or a 9 1/2, but in chuck taylors, i know to order 8 1/2, and they fit my feet perfectly.
