These are seriously so comfortable! They are narrow at first, and they are definitely heavier than the Chuck high tops I'm used to. But there's way more support. I love them! I get lots of compliments when I have them on.

I love these. They actually run a half size smaller for me. I saw a few reviews and read that some people needed a full size smaller. I did that and it was a little tight, so I did an exchange (which didn't take long at all). I got the half size smaller and they were perfect. I love them and I love Zappos!

Love the shoes BUT they do run about a half size large. I actually own another pair of converse shoes (size 9) so I purchased a size 8.5 as I had read they ran big. Once they arrived, I actually think and size 8 would have fit best...but I was too excited to wear them and sending them back in would require too much patience on my part! Lots of compliments on them!

I really love these. They have thicker soles than my ordinary low-top Chucks, the toe cap is smaller, and the strings are wider and take up more of the front of the shoes. They are still quite narrow, like all Chucks - but maybe a little more narrow than my low-tops. I have wide feet, so this is not ideal but it was not a deal-breaker for me.

I have been a Chuck Taylor wearer for years, and the new '70's Chuck Taylor is a gem. The cushioning is amazing; so much, in fact, that my other Chuck's are in the attic. Moreover, the look is sleek and attractive--looks good with jeans or a nice go with for higher occasions.

As a fan and collector of vintage Chuck Taylors, I was very exited about the release of this shoe. These are amazing. They are heavier and more stiff than my vintage Chucks, but the look is great and I give them an A+ for comfort (even without arch support- which Chucks have never had). A few years back I shelled out big bucks for a pair from the Addict Line (released only in Japan) and these put those to shame.

All Chucks run large...great for me and my huge feet, but order one size smaller. 14=13 for me. Either way, these are the best Chucks by far. Don't waste time and money on the cheaper newer models. They wear out quickly, which is good if you want that...but I wear these to work (IT pro) and want them to look nice during the week. The laces are a bit too long honestly so I will order some shorter ones. Just my personal taste.

My son needed these for a high school musical. They run a bit big so we had to exchange them for a smaller size. As always, Zappos sent the other pair right away. They must have been comfortable because he did great! Thank you Zappos!

Full size down method for regular ctas doesn't work the same with the 70 version they are a little tighter and smaller i would say only go a half size down from your normal size.

Ordered a 10.5, my usual shoes size and they were huge, so order a half size down. Overall they look nice in person. The shoes laces are not as long as the usual converse but they are thicker and more durable. Converse aren’t comfy shoes, but I think this style has a bit more built into the sole to make it a little comfier. Overall they are nice shoes.

Great looking shoes. Very solid construction with a nice cushy insole. The only problem was that I'd read elsewhere to purchase 1/2 smaller than my shoe size, but they are actually true to size, so I had to return. Unfortunately, Zappos did not have stock in the correct size and colors that I was considering.

Classic Chuck's - stylish as ever, with a splash of color. Not a lot of arch support, but the shoes run about 1/2 size large, so my custom orthotics fit inside perfectly.

I appreciate the color/style and the 'heft' of these "'70" All-Stars. They're a bit better than regular Chucks (heavier canvas, slightly better support) but they're not as comfortable as the sadly short-lived "Chuck Taylor II's" ...that said, these sneakers seem to run huge. I am a consistent US size 10. Brooks Beast Sneakers: 10, Adidias sneakers: 10, Sanuk sandals: 10, Doc Martins: 10 .... but this pair of Chucks is a US 9.5 and it is STILL a bit large. I probably won't bother to return 'em for a smaller size, but if I order them again, I could definitely go down to a US mens 9.

This shoe is the upgraded version of the Chuck Taylor. The most noticeable difference is the thicker insole.

Overall an upgrade compared to your regular chuck taylor! I've always wore converse growing up but always had issues with foot pain after wearing the regular ones, these on the other hand have thicker canvas, sturdier construction and a MUCH better (and removeable/swappable) insole! Definitely reccomend these over the standard chuck taylor if you're on your feet all day!

I’m normally a 6.5 or 7. In the original converse I’m a 4.5. Tried these in 4 and 4.5. 4 was definitely too small and 4.5 felt great minus the toe feeling narrow. I didn’t want to size up to 5, as the 70’s are already longer than the originals and I didn’t want my shoes to look so awkwardly long. My feet are more are the wide side, so for those with wide feet may have to size up? Sad these didn’t work because you can tell the comfort and quality are so there!

Like the extra cushioning and support compared to other Chuck T's. In bigger sizes, the extra white rubber makes the feet look much bigger than the classic Chuck T's, but decided that it was worth it for extra support. Not as narrow as the classics. This is a heavy shoe. Love the availability of 1/2 sizes above Women size 10!

I beat a regular pair of Chucks to death . It took years. I loved these shoes. Their one weakness was not a whole lot of cushioning. I was super hyped when I belatedly found out about the Chuck 70s. I ordered them in the same exact size as my classic Chucks. The problem is that with the thicker, cushier insole..the toe box is WAY too tight/narrow feeling...for my feet at least. They feel roomier when I take the insole out but that seems silly. I could order a bigger size but then they'd be too long. I'm going to try to replace the insole with some superfeet carbons and see how they feel. Will report back.

I love these shoes! To give you an idea of size, I usually wear Vans, and I am a 10.5 in their shoes. The 10.5 in this shoe was so big that I had to return it. I ordered the 9.5 and it fit better but was still slightly big! Then I found the yellow color that I originally wanted at a different retailer, and I got that in a size 9. The size 9 fits great and I am returning the 10.5 & 9.5. Is definitely buy them from zappos if they had the yellow color that I wanted.

These converse have a lot more support than the less expensive brand. The canvas part is still the regular canvas, though sturdy, but the sole is more significant. Daughter loves them and says are comfortable, but have to say, feet build up odor in there!

I decided to order a women's size 7 because all the reviews said it ran a half size larger. I thought that meant it would feel more like a 7.5, and I wanted the extra room for my toes. I had to send the size 7 back for exchange for the 7.5 size. I hope that won't be too big. I have wider feet, and the toe area is slightly narrow. I think with a slightly thicker sock the 7.5 will fit fine. The quality is pretty good, although I noticed by one of the eyelets there was a flaw in the canvas. I'm hoping that's just a fluke thing. Otherwise I love the look! Long story short, at least for me, these run true to size.

This ones on me, I wanted a new pair of high tops since mine are trashed and I assumed the texture of the canvas would be the same as my old white ones. I liked the more aged color on these so I tried them. I got them and they are so hard and we’re rubbing immediately. So I sent them back. I should have done more research on what the 70s style meant. The order came quick tho! Lol

This is a very well-built shoe and the footbed is very comfortable, but I found the toecap to be quite narrow in proportion to the length of the shoe. I generally wear a 9 or a 9.5 in D width (although I am closer to an E than a C). I heard to size down a half size with Chucks, so I ordered a 9. Despite having around an inch (or more?) of room in the front of my toes, my pinky toe was still pressing uncomfortably against the edge of the toecap. I could possibly size up to 9.5 or a 10 to alleviate the issue, but even the 9 is longer than I'd like, so I think I may move on.
