These are the real deal that I remember from years back. The material is super durable, the cushioning is nice and of course, you can't go wrong with the classic look. Definitely worth the extra dollars, as regular Chucks seem to fall apart rather quickly. This is my third pair, and I'm glad to see that Zappos has them at a great price.

These All Star 70 high are so much better than the regular Chuck Taylor. They don’t hurt my feet at all and are actually extremely comfortable. They are not stiff either so right out the box they have very flexible. I usually wear a size 10 in DC, Etnies, Circa, Globe, Adidas and most other shoes but these I wear a 9.5. I tried on a size 10 at the mall before I bought these on Zappos and they were too big. Definitely get a half size smaller than what you normally wear.

Really great shoe. Super comfortable. I’m usually a 9.5 in chucks but went with a 10. Fit was pretty good. Probably could’ve sized down to normal chuck size but I like having a little room for thicker socks.

Superior silhouette to standard run Converses. Canvas is as thick as a sail. Pretty comfortable, but went to a concert first day of having these and - naturally - heels got a little heavy. Still the classic flop flop, not ideal for running and exercise, but all materials are definitely bona fide plus. Worth it for the elitism of the extra stitching.

I had to go a half size down from my previous converse purchases for these, which was surprising as as shoes fit me pretty consistently. Very happy with the style and I think the 70s version is a bit more grown up looking that the other classic hi tops. Comfort is pretty on par with other Chucks I have - meaning they're flat and my feet hurt after a long day but I expect that with this brand. It's taken a few wears to get them to softern up a bit but again, expected with a hi top. Happy with these!

Excellent fit and good size. My feet are irregular, resulting in going up a 1/2 size. More sturdy than regular chucks. Really feels great wearing them. Despite the slight change in the converse emblem and slight change in color from "black" to "black/black/egret", these are still the same Chuck Taylor All Star '70 Hi.

Absolutely LOVE these shoes! super comfortable. Nice cushy footbed. I pretty much wear them everyday. Super cute with cropped flares and also with skinnies. Will try to pair then with skirts and dresses when the weather warms up. Highly recommend!! I usually wear sz 7 in womens and 6.5 womens fit me perfectly in these.

I really like them. They are comfortable and I ordered my normal size. They are a classic and look good dressed up or down and all around... a great shoe to have in your closet.

Many reviews even Converse.com suggest that it's better to pick half size down, but I feel it is true to size. I have slim feet and I usually wear women US 7, after reading so many reviews, I purchased a pair of 6.5. However, it's wide enough but not long enough. I changed a pair of 7, now I am happy with it.

I love these converse CT '70 hi top, very comfortable, and classy. I'm 35yo woman, I have been wearing the regular cheaper version converse prior to this purchase. The CT '70 is much more comfortable and much better quality. I will be buying this CT '70 from now on, hopefully they will come out with variety of other colors. It's great buying experience in this store easy, fast delivery, and return. I always wear women size 6 in regular all star converse, but I had to size down half size on this 'CT '70 hi. At first I bought 6.5 women size because some reviews said it's half size smaller due to some sort of cushioning- it was too big for my feet so I return it for size 6, but still too big. Returned the women size 6, purchased size 5.5 and finally it fit perfectly wearing my regular socks on with tiny bit of wiggle room. The shine is barely noticeable

Love these, but they run big. Order at least a half a size smaller. I wen't down a full size. But they're great. Very comfortable and, I think, adorable, old-school, too.

I usually am a skeptic towards any new imaginings of converse over the years, and decided to try out the 70s throwbacks on a whim and I have to say - I'm impressed. High quality features set this apart from your standard issue Chucks and put it to shame. As a wearer for slightly over a decade and some change, I have to say being beyond pleased with my purchase - it's an investment, this shoe feels like it's going to last much longer and have more character in the process. What really kicks ass about this low profile classic is the cushioned sole, I feel like I'm walking on clouds - although this did cause me to size up from my usual Chuck size 6 to a 7. Easily worth the price tag especially since the regular models keep creeping up over the years. I wish everyone I knew had a pair of these.

Great pair of shoes. Very comfortable. Got some extra wiggle room for the toes, but I'm not going to return them. Love them. 3rd pair for Zappos in 3 years. Officially part of my regular shoe rack.

First off, these look awesome. The stitching is cool. They are a little more substantial than a current pair of Chucks, but I like that. The canvas is sturdy and the seams appear more durable than those on ordinary Chuck Taylors. There is a little extra padding in the insole which is the main reason why I bought these. I had been buying the CTAS Pro Hi shoes because they have an insole. I just can't walk around on a little sliver of rubber all day. I will keep buying these as long as Converse offers them.

I just love these '70 all stars, they are well made and very comfortable right out of the box. You can see and feel the difference in the materials and how it is made compared the the standard hi tops. I have been wearing them for three days at work on concrete, to break them in and they feel great with no fatigue. I bought the '70 Hi to use at the gym since a more sturdy sneaker is better suited. Some of the other reviews had mentioned the laces are too long, they are. Converse should have used the 54" laces from the standard Chucks. But this is not a big deal to change them out with 54" I ordered them from Converse since Zappos doesn't carry laces. The service from Zappos is always great buying shoes online can be trial and error, but Zappos makes it easy.

Be aware that these shoes are a little larger than your average modern Chuck Taylor. I've been wearing CT's for years and always wore a 9.5. I've had to go down to a 9 in order to get a good fit. They are a little snug but the 9.5 was just too long. Other than that, I do not regret these at all. The canvas is at least twice as thick, the sole is nice and cushioned and the laces are beefy. I love them. I plan on buying another pair of the black version to keep as a back up.
