I've ordered a style similar to this in previous years. In this 2016 version the covered toe box is both shorter and narrower that before, and so it cuts into the top of my foot a little and I think it would rub/pinch and make the shoe uncomfortable to wear after a few hours.

This shoe is OK, not great. It would be better if the ankle strap fastened with Velcro rather than a snap, because the snap makes it non-adjustable. Those with high arches might want to avoid this one. The ability to rotate the ankle strap back to the heal and wear the shoe as a slip-on is nice, but it would be difficult to keep the shoe on for a long walk in that mode. I like my old Teva shoes of a similar style but with a non-rotating Velcro ankle strap fastener a lot better than these. I wish I could get another pair like them, because they are 5 star shoes.

Love these shoes. Great with shorts or skirts or long pants. Comfortable and feminine. A problem though: after 11 months one of the snaps broke. Sad, because otherwise the shoe is in great shape. I love them so much I am buying a new pair and just hope the snap lasts longer this time.

My little piggy that "went wee wee all the way home" was completely showing in the gap. Only the very front of my foot was covered. There is no support in this shoe.

I had bought a similar model about two or three years ago and have lived in them during the summer. Despite having no real arch support, they were still comfortable for very long walks and long days. As they were beginning to wear, I looked for a similar model. I ordered the Northwater but the strap closure was a problem for me. The previous model had a velcro closure rather than a snap; it was easier to fasten and more flexible. Back they went. I hope next year's model goes back to velcro.

My daughter and I were so disappointed - she is very picky and loved these sandals - she needs closed toe for camp and the options are limited. She wears a size 10 and her toes were at the very top of the shoe. Sadly, they do not offer a 10.5 and we are having to try another less attractive sandal that will hopefully fit.

I ordered this shoe because I needed a close toed shoe to go to an outdoor concert. I wanted one that was breathable and comfortable. Unfortunately, I am going to have to send them back because my heel slides right out of them. I am a true 8.5 and the length was fine, but if you have a narrow heel like I do, they may not stay on as well and rub up and down in the back. I thought about going down a half size but I don't think I will as the length was accurate for me. Too bad...I really like this shoe.

I love this shoe but unfortunately the strap is too short for my high instep. I tried the next size shoe, the strap was longer, but still did not work. I am returning the shoe.

I wanted to love these shoes. Perfect color. But they made me pronate, seemed to have a strange inward beveled arch area. Not my best luck with Tevas, but will try a different style.

I found the loose ankle strap to be perfectly comfortable: it keeps the shoe on (I could see how useful it would be in water) without binding. The body of the shoe fit me well enough that I didn't need the strap to secure the shoe to my foot. The reason I am sending them back, though, is that the heel rise gave me a lower back ache almost immediately. I wear shoes with heels occasionally, but something about the narrow heel cup and the rise of this shoe made for a terrible combination, for me. Too bad, because it is a cute, lightweight shoe that would be perfect for both active wear and city walking.

I really like the looks of the Teva Northwater. However, I usually wear a size 7 medium which is what I ordered and received. They pinch my toes and the strap over my arch is too tight as I must have a high instep. My bad buying through the mail.

I've owned two pairs of this shoe and loved them. The new pair felt far less comfortable and tight when I tried them on.

I have a pair of similar Tevas from a few years back I was hoping to replace. Sadly, these caused my ankles to roll in, which is unusual. The rest of the fit was very comfortable. I'm sending them back.

Wanted to replace a pair of Teva Pasas Mary Janes. These looked to be a similar style, even if not the same materials...however, the sizing does not match the old ones...very frustrating, especially within the same brand and style.

Love this shoe but unfortunately the ankle strap is not adjustable and its too large for me. Regrettably its going back!

Really cute sandal but if you have flat feet don't even try these. Because of the way they are cut you look as if you are walking on the inside of your feet. Not a good look.

After reading the reviews, I decided that these should work best for me. I am a size 10 and I could not even get them on. They were way too small. They provide no arch support. I sent them back right away.

Cute shoe, but runs very small. The adjustable strap at the ankle is not really adjustable, just a small amt. of give. Poor design to close an ankle strap with a snap. Returning.

Please bring back the older design and sizing! I have been wearing Teva Northwater shoes for my bartending/serving job for the last eight years. I am on my feet all day and used to swear by these shoes. They are cute with dresses and skirts and (used to be) so comfortable to wear all day. I have owned 5 well-worn pairs myself and convinced at least 10 of my co-workers to invest in a pair as well. I have received countless compliments from customers inquiring about who makes them. The problem is, the style has changed several times over the years and the most recent design (with the strap snaps again) seems to fit a whole size (or more!) smaller! My 5 older pairs (both snap and Velcro strap styles) were all a size 10 (did they used to come in wide?) and still fit my feet today. But the new design fits so small and feels so narrow they are unwearable! Honestly, it feels like Teva is trying to discontinue the Northwater shoe style--even the color options have been whittled down to just brown and black! The Marine Blue/teal was my all-time favorite, but I have also owned pairs in brown/green, brown, black/grey, and grey/lavender. I really miss having color options. I would buy the older version Northwater in Marine Blue/teal in a heartbeat! I used to purchase a pair of Northwaters a year, but have not been able to replace my last pair for several years now because of the latest model. Actually, out of desperation to replace my falling apart old pair, I reordered the newest design a second time (but this time in the now available size 11) hoping it would miraculously work for me again. Alas, the shoe fit is still extremely tight overall and my toes are pressed up against the ends, so they are being sent back. Not to mention, the ankle strap snap design--which was never a problem for me on the older shoes-- cannot be fastened. I don't understand why Teva keeps messing with the sizing/style of this design! Northwater was such a solid, cute, comfortable shoe design before. I tried stay loyal and to wait for a better version to come out, but finally had to break down and buy another brand to replace my completely shot work shoes. Please revive this once great style!

Love the look of this shoe. I had a problem with the oval on the foot bed, it was very irritating. Also like quite a few other people said, it makes your foot roll in . Not only uncomfortable but also looks odd. So disappointed, they are so cute and look good with everything.

May as well be flip flops. I need more support and if it is not there, room for orthotics. Would be nice for a petite ballerina.

Love these, my second pair. Unfortunately I need to return. The main strap is ready to break, it is on last thread after one weeks wearing. I am so surprised, must be a fluke.

Love this shoe, BUT the strap is way too loose and not adjustable. I have to return them.

Bought 2 pairs. Love style but...after a few months I developed plantar fasciitis. I have high arches and a narrow heel. Never had a heel problem before I wore these shoes. Feels like I am walking on concrete now. Really no support.

I have purchased multiple pairs the earlier version of this shoe and they always fit me width-wise. This new style is way too narrow and uncomfortable. I also prefer the solid brown instead of the 2-tone brown. Unfortunate remodel.
