This light weight jacket kept me dry in heavy rain. I am very happy with it.

It's light weight for the nice days and roomy enough to add a light sweather when needed. Love the hood

I got this jacket to wear while biking in wet weather but it actually turned into my year round cycling jacket. It fits well, cuts the wind, and is pretty waterproof. The only complaint I have is the lack of an internal pocket (that's a personal preference I can never have too many pockets). I'll probably get another one in a different color.

When I received the jacket, I though it was a light weight jacket, not a water proof wind breaker. It still services it purpose. A little big for size which is alright, let's me stretch without any problems.

I am 5'10" @ 180lbs and the large fits me well. I can agree with some of the comments mentioned in other posts. I got to try the jacket in Geneva Switzerland during a 2hr walk in constant rain. The waterproof aspects of the jacket worked extremely well. I can agree that the water just pearled off me as on a tree leaf. The finish of the the seams is done very well. The hood worn in conjunction with a baseball cap seals around the head extremely well and keeps all water out. I would also agree with the zippers and linings. Yes, I noticed the sleeve lining to come out of the sleeve and had to readjust. Worse was the main and pocket zippers. They jammed because the lining catches easily in the zipper mechanism. Sealed zippers would make this a super jacket. Finally, it took me some time to find the hidden pocket into which to stuff the jacket as a small pouch, the "packable" function. It is actually the left pocket. Once packed the the netting of the pocket becomes the outer bag. That is not really functional because once reversed this netting catches on everything. Why not make the "packable" pocket in a solid material?

I ordered this rain jacket for a future Alaskan cruise in X-Lg. I have purchased solar shirts from Columbia in X-Lg that have fit fine. I am 5'9" tall, 38" waist and 44" chest. This X-Lg jacket fit snug and was small in the arm holes which made it too tight to wear a sweat shirt under it. I exchanged it for a XX-Lg which works perfect for layering. The quality and price are great. It cuts the wind well. I haven't had the chance to wear it in the rain yet to test it for waterproofness.

I bought this jacket as a wind-breaker/rain jacket for riding my bicycle. I like the overall fit and quality, and it is doing a good job of keeping out the wind, especially when I use a base layer. I have one small nit to pick: when you put the jacket on, the liner in the sleeve gets "pushed" out of the sleeve, forcing you to reach under your armpit with the free hand to pull it back out. Time will tell if it has the same wear quality as my NorthFace jacket, so far so good.

This is a nice light jacket. Runs a little small. The zipper is very small and hard to work. Almost a deal breaker. Hope it will be easier with a little practice. While the price is better than the overpriced competition, would have expected at least one more pocket to stash a cell phone or something

I ordered a medium and it fits perfect with a t-shirt on. But I wanted a little larger so I can wear a sweat shirt underneath so I exchanged to a large but wow. It looks and feel like extra large.
I read some of the reviews in both men and women's and a lot of people complain about the size not fitting right. So be careful.
But other than that. It's good and it will keeps you warm on a cool rainy day.
Don't know about the water proof yet. I still haven't got to that point to test it out.

I haven't had it long enough to get lots of use out of it, but I have used it and I'm fairly happy with my purchase. I haven't given it the highest rating yet becasue it hasn't been tested over time with many conditions.

Sizing, color and styling is basic but nice. Hood is sized appropriately. Lightweight and packs fairly small but I keep it folded in my car for emergencies. I picked up this jacket on sale- and its still a little pricey for what it is but its classic-looking and will last.

These work great as a lightweight waterproof jacket for my bike rides to work. It keeps the wind out too so with a little bit of layering it still stays pretty warm even with temperatures in the 30s. The small is a little big on me (I wish Columbia made XS) but it does its job.

I'm going on a RTW trip and need a good rainjacket that is lightweight and will hold up against the elements. This was a little too heavy, and doesn't pack as easily as I would like it too. Plus it felt like it would get humid if I were doing activity, like running through a city or something. Instead I went with Outdoor Research Men's Helium II Jacket and spent the extra money; it's more of a windbreaker style, but will definitely keep you dry. I've already used it a number of times just getting around the city. Still, this Columbia jacket would be nice for someone who just needs an every day raincoat. Also, a much better price point that North Face and other "lux" brands. Actually, I think this is the jacket I bought to climb Machu Picchu during wet season. Weirdly and thankfully, I barely had to use it and I actually sold it to my tour guide. It made him very happy, and I know that it's serving him well.

The jacket as a whole is fine. What worries me for the long run is the quality of the zip. While I understand it needs to be lightweight for the function of the jacket, it seems excessively flimsy.

Great jacket! Well made! It runs small through the arm holes and shoulder blade area. Buy one size up. I bought a large but sent it back due to tightness in the arm holes and shoulder blade areas. The extra large fits well, especially if you want to fit a fleece underneath it.

This is a decent raincoat they say that's watertight however I was in a heavy torrential downpour today here in the Pacific Northwest My shirt was soaked and the seams of the coat towards the bottom were soaked The coat was unable to stay dry at the bottom it cannot withstand the amount of water that was dripping down it and the wetness was slowly working its way upward but for light rain or light drizzles or medium rain it's a decent count I would still recommend it but however it does need some work.

This jacket fits perfectly, has plenty of pockets and a great hood and packs small, which is important to me because I travel for work. However after about 6 months the zipper has blown out. If I get a replacement jacket, I know the same thing will happen and I don't want to get rid of the jacket. So at this point I'm considering taking it to a tailor and having the zipper replaced with a high quality heavy duty zipper.

Design flaw, the velcro on the front opening would stick to my sleeves when opening the jacket. I do not like it. The sleeves are also a bit long.
