It fits for a hot weather as the material is very thin.

First off, these run small, so size up. I've been buying them for years and always had to buy a size larger than whatever my current size is. Having said that, I love these for fishing. They have actual pockets and dry quickly. They hold up well, don't easily stain and are very easy to wash, dry and wear. Love them!

Got these to wear over a bathing suit. I'm a senior and like things covered up. Would have given them 5 stars if they came with a built in panty like board shorts. Then they could be worn with a rash guard top.

These shorts are both comfortable and versatile. Because these shorts are quick dry, they are perfect for going straight from hiking to water activities.

I had a pair of these shorts years ago and they were my favorites! Comfy, lightweight. And the pockets held anything! Today's version is still pretty good, but 1-2 more inches on the pocket & I wouldn't be dropping my phone everytime I sat down. Still comfy & lightweight. I live in Phoenix & they are great in our hot summers. I'm 5'5", 135 lbs & have woman-hips (curvy). Medium is ok, should have gone with large. My bad. Size chart seems pretty good.

I wear this in the rainy season here in Mexico. It is hot and humorous d here and these shorts keep you cool and they dry quickly. I only wish they made the legs a little wider. On me they fit a little snug. Not tight enough that I won't wear them, but my preference would be a little bigger in the leg.

Was bummed that these ran much larger than size indicated. I ordered small but definitely needed XS. Even more bummed that XS is sold out for all the good colors. I liked the material tho and could imagine them being really cool on hot days.

I got these in a size large, they are a loose fitting short. I'm usually between a size 8/10. But the large fit good! Love the material. And dry quick. Great outdoor shorts

I bought the cheapest color and assumed they were going to look awful. The khaki isn't that pretty, but I was going to function. They are a good length, water resistant fabric, and comfortable for hiking and backpacking.

Good pair of shorts. Great product has sun protection. This is important here, when it gets very hot.

These are nice, but I found them to be too snug so had to go up a size. Think they will be great on hot days.

I purchased 2 pairs of these shorts as work out shorts and for running. I really like the shorts but wish the inseam was longer in length. The inseam is 5 inches. They're an inch longer then the running shorts I found in the local stores but still would of liked them a little longer. It's really hard to find a longer inseam in running shorts. Other then the inseam the shorts are great.

These are fantastic shorts. I've been buying them for three years now. The red is fluorescent so these will become biking and kayaking shorts.

I have several pairs of the Sandy River Colorblock shorts and a couple of pairs of these Sandy River shorts. Although both are made of the same material and both are called Sandy River, the fit is very different. I wear a large in the Colorblock shorts and the fit with them is amazing. So, I bought a size large in these shorts a couple of months ago, but they fit more like a medium. I decided to order another pair of these in an XL, but those actually do fit like an XL. So I'm not quite sure which pair is off in sizing. I got them at such a good deal that it really wasn't worth sending them back.

I really liked the Sandy River Cargo shorts and I was hoping these would fit the same with a 5" length instead of the 6" length of the cargo shorts. They actually fit a little smaller in the waist than the cargo shorts besides being shorter. I still like them and they will get a lot of wear but they aren't quite as comfortable. The XSmall fits pretty well (112 pounds, 5'6") but in these, a small might have been better. I got black and Nocturnal (a lighter, more medium blue than they look online).

I have many pairs of these shorts that I've purchased over the years. I love that they are comfortable, keep you cool, and dry quickly. This latest pair that I purchased is slightly shorter and runs slightly smaller than ones I've purchased in the past. Overall, I still love these, just wish the size and length would stay as they were.

These shorts are nice for when you're out on the water. They dry super quick in case anything happens. Only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because they're a little smaller than another pair of the same shorts I have.

I've been a long time fan of the Sandy River shorts. After gaining a little weight I decided to up my size. Oddly there wasn't as much size difference between the S and M as I expected. They are a little snugger across the hip than the older version but still great. I've managed to poke through to one of the pockets but I blame that on constant wear. They drain quickly, dry well, which is about all I ask for!

I read some reviews that said these shorts either run too big or too small or jump a lot in between sizes. I got a large and am 5'6" and 155 pounds, and they fit great. They do ride up a little in the middle, but they are exactly what I was looking for. Great pockets and the fabric is really light weight and dries quickly. I'm an avid hiker/camper and these are great for going outside in the LA summer heat.
