I had to return these because the strap broke after one week of use. I'm ordering a new pair to try.

My son loves these! He is a medium width with narrower heels and these fit very well, even ordering a full size up so that he gets a year out of them. He put them on right away and then ran off doing his thing: no stopping to adjust, no wanting to take them off, so I take that as high praise for their comfort. The toggle/lace situation seems a bit iffy, but so far so good.

My son loves Keen shoes and has had them every year. These feel solidly constructed, but the bungees feel thinner and flimsier than they ever have been in the past. I'm not sure they'll last the season.

Cute and they look durable-look a little less "quality" than other Keens I have seen, but am hoping the investment will pay off and they will last six months instead of the one I get with el cheapo sneaks.

I emailed Keen prior to buying this shoe for my 5 year old to confirm I could switch the bungee system to regular laces. He wore them with the bungee laces for a few days before I switched them to regular 45" flat laces. I liked them with the bungees but my son has recently learned to tie his shoes and I don't want him losing the skill. They are a nice looking shoe but lower than I thought they would be from the pictures. They are also on the narrow side. I don't think they will be a good winter shoe as the sides are a breathable mesh. I would buy these again as a warm weather shoe.

I love Keen shoes, especially the quality. However, I hate that they do not carry half sizes. This shoe is just what I was looking for, to suit the uniform requirements for my kids' school. My son needs 1.5, but had to go with a 2, thus he will need to wait a bit to wear these. 4 stars.

This shoe is great for my son who has trouble keeping his laces tied. It isn't the best shoe for running distances, but it is a good everyday shoe for school and playing.

My son loves the way Keens fit (he is a 4th grader), but these ones, the red zig zag stripes on the side are peeling off. Only been in school a couple weeks now, I expect better quality from Keen.

It looks just like the picture. It was a big small, my son is supposed to be size 1.5 or 2, but is the size 2 was too small, so I ordered the next size up. Also it wasn't exactly easy to put shoes on. I'm sure adults are fine with it, but my son (8) didn't find it easy. But I thought the shoes looked really stylish.

This design from Keen is terrible. Not a month in, my son almost has worn through the side band holding the lacing strap. Once this breaks, you cannot lace the shoe. I had a similar issue with the Alamosa style from Keen. If you have an active child, beware. I have no issues with Keen styles not featuring this side strap.

I ordered two pairs of these shoes, one pair for my 4 year old and one pair for my 9 year old. The little one hasn't had any problems but my older one somehow pulled the strings out the plastic string tightening mechanism. We have tried fixing it but have been unable to. He is still able to wear the shoes and it is possible that he just pulled the strings too tight. I will likely order another pair of these for his twin brother but will be sure that he is more careful with his.

The shoes we received are not as pictured. They have all black soles with no sporty red waves.

Shoe wore out more quickly than expected. Breath ability good but mesh tore easily. Wouldn’t purchase again.

Very little to the sole. Felt thin and marginally cheap.

Very nice shoes but more narrow than the typical wide keen. Sad to return them!

This is really hard to get in. We had the same brand, pair last year for both my kids and I bought for my son a size bigger. Shoe length is perfect except we cannot get his feet in!

My kids always get Versatrails from Keen, my soon was holding in a size 6 so I ordered him the CNX 6 and it was drastically smaller than the versatrail. I ordered my daughter a size up as she outgrew her size 1 and the CNX size 2 was at least a size smaller than the versatrail. I didn't realize this until after a week of them trying to avoid wearing them. Luckily Zappos took them back, but just warning.

Not a Keen I will ever repeat for my children. The ribbon lace that loops around back of ankle broke on both shoes in a short period of time, about a month. I tried to find a way to repair it so it was tighter on his foot but I failed at that. Finally I just cut off the silly floppy ribbon and then looked for another pair of shoes. We usually love our Keens for their comfort, durability, and width, Not This One.

We have always loved the fit and look of Keen shoes for our very active 8 year old grandson. After one week of wearing this shoe, we are happy with the fit and look of the shoe. We are not happy that the trim is already peeling off. Other reviewers mentioned this flaw and I chose to ignore it. It happens. After one week, the trim is peeling off the sides of the shoe. The trim is what makes the shoe "cool."

Bought these for my four year old. Loved them, and so did he, but within two months they started falling apart. Reluctant to order again because it seems more like a design flaw than a random fluke. Had hoped for a better, more sturdy product. But appreciate zappos taking them back!

I ordered this shoe because my son loves his Keen sandals and thought these would be the same style in a sneaker. They are not. He wears a 3 in the sandal and his foot hardly fit in these 3's. They are very narrow, and overall very small. Don't buy these if you think they are anything like the sandals or if your child has a wide foot.

My son has always loved Keen shoes and I have always been happy with their fit and wear. Unfortunately, I am not happy with this pair. They seem to run small. The major issue I have with this pair is that the bungee clip came off one shoe the first day and the other side the 3rd day. The only solution that Keen offered was to send a "replacement kit" for us to fix ourselves. More than 2 weeks later and we are still waiting. This experience has soured my opinion of Keen!

I typically love Keens and while I try not to spend more than $50 on my active 6yr olds shoes, I took a gamble on these. Unfortunately the elastic lace broke after less that 2 weeks. That being said, the show itself is still intact which is more than I can say about many brands!

My son loved the fit and style of these shoes but only 2 months after purchase, the laces snapped. Thanks to Zappos customer service for exchanging!

These shoes fell apart after 1 month of use. The side seam split wide open on one of the shoes, and the shoes themselves look really beat up. We're not new to Keens and my 8 yr old has been wearing Keen sandals now for 5 years. All of his sandals were in good enough shape to give away to another child (and its summer year round here so they get worn daily). Totally disappointed. I would not recommend this shoe. Hoping Zappos will offer credit for this shoe.
