Review for Zappos VIP Points(What's this?)

Like many other reviewers, I too have purchased many Orthaheel flip flops and LOVED THEM. Unfortunately, our new puppy loved them too as he chewed the left shoe of my indoor flip flops. Urgently ordered another pair through Zappos (love Zappos!), however, the Vionic flip flops are NOT the same as the original Orthaheel. The height of the arch is definitely lower. Why did Vionic mess with a good thing?!@#

These shoes should come with a recommendation to only be used by people with very high arches. I bought them for support, and there is a considerable bump in the arch/ball of the foot area. They felt great for a couple months, and I loved the comfortable support, but then I developed constant aching in the balls of my feet, almost like they were bruised. It got to be so bad, I could barely walk. I went to my doctor, and she suggested it was the shoes. After not wearing them for 2 weeks, the pain subsided. Very comfortable at first, but beware of pain later.

I have Plantar Fasciitis and my podiatrist said that he recommended Vionic flip flops if you must wear a flip flop, and I must!, so I gave these a shot. I'm technically a size 10.5 wide, and that size is so hard to find, so I got this in 11 medium. So it's just a bit long for me, but not bad. But I definitely need a wider shoe- there are other Vionic medium widths that fit my foot, but these dug into the top of my foot too much, but that could be because I have high arches too. I love the color of these and you can definitely dress them up or down, plus the arch support is so, so good- however, they're a very heavy shoe- especially in the heel. I feel like my feet get tired just from wearing them. I'm going to try another style of Vionic flip flops- I know my perfect shoe is out there and I'll find it!

I absolutely love all my Vionic shoes and sandals. I thought I would treat myself to a new pair. I am sending these back because they started squeaking. The more I wore them around the house, the more they squeaked. I am so bummed. I contacted Vionic and they admitted they have changed the way they are manufactured. Also, the arch doesn't seem as high to me as the older ones. I am so bummed out they messed with a good thing.

The sandal is very nice looking and supportive. The complaint I have is that the left sandal is larger then the right one and it slips from my foot when walking. Because of this non-fit, I need to return them.

Flip flops are supposed to comfortable - these gave me a blister within 15 minutes of wearing them. I think they are a little narrow.

The footbed is a nice mix of firm support and cushioning and they appear to be well made for flip flops. Unfortunately, the arch support is much to high for my low-ish arches--so much so that it feels like my forefoot doesn't full rest on the ground. Tried them around the house a few times but this isn't something my feet will be able to adjust to.

The New Tide II, Vionic remake of the original Orthaheel doesn't provide as much arch support and stability. They don't feel as snug to my foot as the Original. I have already walked outside in them and will keep them, but I do wish they were made just like the original Orthaheel with the more pronounced arch. Side note- There were some shipping issues with my order, but as usual Zappos handled perfectly and promptly.

I love this dark teal color. I've lost track of how many of the Tide & Tide II I own, starting with my first pairs that were Orthaheel. I do have very, very sensitive feet, but this is the first pair that really cuts into my 2nd toes. The softest pair I own are the Rhinestone style (unltrasuede?), so I believe the materials used had something to do with my problems. Donated them, sadly.

This is my first pair of Vionics and I am not a fan at all. I find the arch support affects my knees and legs causing my knees to hurt worse. I also find them to run wide for me. I should have returned as soon as I tried them on but wore around the house thinking maybe they would mold to my feet. Wrong! Money wasted. Not Zappos fault...mine!

I've had a pair of sandals for a couple of years. I hardly wore them and yesterday the toe piece pulled out. These are like flip flops with the orthaheeal technology. I called to see about repair, not only do they not warranty beyond 6 months, they don't even do repairs on their product. Compare to LLBean with a life time warranty and it is no contest.

It fits and looks like a sandal and not an orthopedic shoe. Unfortunately after wearing it around the house, it aggravated my foot condition and I'll be returning all of the shoes I ordered.

I have worn the same size for many years. As soon as I opened them I felt they looked too long. When I tried them on my arch hit below the built in one. I had more than 1/2 inch. Love the shoe; will reorder smaller size. Rated 3 stars hoping the smaller size will fit.

Great arch support, but poor quality. Arch support is amazing and reason I’m keeping them. I was going to wear them just a few hours a day until I got used to the support, but after the first hour they felt so comfortable I wore for 2-3 hours. After the 2nd time I wore them the top of my feet hurt. There was a very short thread on each flip-flop where the design is sewn where it attaches to toe strip. I know each thread was very, very short, but they irritated my feet so bad they must be nylon thread. I have a small sore at the base of both my 2nd toes. I haven’t worn the flip flops for about 2 weeks, and both feet are healing. I bought Moleskin to put on the problem area, and I hope I can wear my Vionics without further trouble. I am very disappointed with workmanship and will try Spenco next time and hope for better quality.

I was thrilled with the look and quality of the sandal however, the arch of the sandal and of the Vionic shoe I have don't feel the same at all and actually the sandal is painful to wear. I'm returning for that reason. Also, even though the arch hits higher on the sandal, the sandal otherwise is true to fit. I'm actually going to contact Vionic because I love the shoe and would like to find a sandal by them that I love as well.

Who ruined these? I had 2 pair from 3 years ago that I live in that are/were perfect. Now they're worn out because I wear them all the time in Las Vegas. The new ones are a completely different fit. The arch support is not nearly high enough and hits the wrong part of my foot for support. I'm really disappointed. I have PF, arthritic knees and back. These WERE the only thing I could wear for any length of time. Plus the straps are too loose so my feet slide around. Bad!

I bought as recommended a half size smaller and it was way too small. The arch support is extremely hard and uncomfortable. If your looking for a softer foot bed, this isn't the one.

These flip flops are a bit heavy and the footbed a bit hard. If you're seeking unyielding stability, these may work for you but I want something with a little more cushion and give. Returning them.

I was told to order this brand for support to my recently injured foot (plantar fasciitis and severely strained arch tendon). The tennis shoes are awesome; however, the soles of these flip flops are so hard that they irritate the area that is already tender. Sad because overall they are a pretty classy looking shoe that you could dress up. Overall, returning...a little softness wouldn't hurt. Ended up buying Olukai flops.

Oh, no! I have loved my 2 previous pairs of Orthaheel flip flops, but these just aren't the same. This pair felt both bigger and less substantial (longer in length with a less strong arch and heel cup). For reference, the bottom tread on this newer pair has diamond shapes and the older version has a wavy pattern. I'm bummed. And will have to return them.

Meh. Agree with reviewers who observe that this new Vionic model of Tide is not as good as the original. I found the arch support to be fine, but the toe post is shorter making for a more snug and uncomfortable fit. I find that I just don't wear them as much as I did my original ones. Why do companies fix what is not broken? Not sure I would buy another pair.

I also, am disappointed with the 'new Vionic' shoes. I owned many pair of the old Orthaheel Tides and loved them. Upon buying two pair of the new Vionic, I found they fit and feel different. Much less of an arch...the arch is why I bought the shoes in the first place. They can claim they are the same shoes but they are not. I also purchased the new rhinestone Tides two weeks ago. Wore them once and the rhinestones are already falling off! Please bring back the quality of the original shoes!

I have worn these sandals since they first came out many years ago. They had one style and two colors. I STILL wear those, but the footbed is finally breaking down. Sadly, these are different. The straps are very tight across my feet and the footbed is narrower and shorter. I have always worn an 8, but will try a 9. I do like some of the newer cuter style, like the Karina, but I had to order those in wide. These Tide 2s would probably work length-wise if they had a wider version. I wish they hadn't changed a good thing. This is much more than needing them to break-in.

I usually wear an 8.5, but I ordered an 8 in this sandal. It was on the verge of being too small. So I ordered a 9. Too big. But more importantly, this sandal is super wide! I have narrow feet (but do not wear narrow shoes) and I could not keep these on my feet. They would fall right off when I would start to walk. Sadly, I did not end up with a pair of Vionic. I got a pair of Sanuk's. The thick soled ones with the gingham strap. I bought a pair last year and now ordered another pair this year. They are made out of yoga mats! Super comfy and can be worn all day!
