I have an upcoming trip to Italy (in February) and needed something both cute, could withstand some weather, and I could walk in all day. I do have black rain boots, from Bogs and Hush Puppies, both amazing, but they didn't quite feel fashionable enough for Italy. Beginning in December, I began carefully reading reviews of black booties on Zappos and ordering 2-3 at a time. I have super wide feet, plus I wanted to wear thicker socks with the old weather. I ordered around 7-9 boots with great reviews and wide options. Nothing worked! On my last order, I decided to throw these in even though they were above my price range and they did not come in wide. When I first put them on, I thought they didn't quite feel wide enough and was about to return them. I decided to give them a try though. I put on medium-thick socks and wore them around. The leather is soft and supple, and not constrictive. They never felt tight or like my toes were being squished. I immediately wore them on errands and then to work a few times (and I walk around all day). My feet never hurt at the end of the day like they normally do (even though I invest in very comfortable shoes) and they go with everything (skirts and tights, leggings, jeans). While they were pricey, this is truly reflected in their quality and comfort.

These boots are wonderful. They look great with tights, skinny pants tucked in or out, or long skirts. They are comfortable but have a removable inner sole if you want to insert your own orthotic. They run slightly narrow which is good for me since I wear a narrow shoe usually, but fit well with a light to medium sock or with an inner sole. I get compliments every time I wear them. This is my second pair of Gentle Souls boots. The first pair is in its third year and going strong; getting kind of scuffed but I polish them regularly. Very soft leather.

The leather is thick and supple and of high quality. They are not a super feminine style but still classic and beautiful. They are very comfortable. They were a bit snug, I am almost always a 7.5 but I can only wear thin socks with these. I might have sent them back for a larger size but I loved them so much I wanted to wear them.

These are some of the most comfortable boots I've ever owned. I tried them on after getting home in my old boots and immediately threw the old ones in the trash. I didn't realize how worn out they were until I put these on. The bottom of these shoes have memory foam and I feel great arch support. They also fit well around my ankle which I usually have trouble with since my ankles are thicket than most. So glad I got these!

These are the most comfortable and best booties that I have ever bought. The leather is very soft, the heel perfect for being on my feet all day and the details people talk about. They are well worth the price!

I own several Gentle Souls shoes and these are by far the most roomy. I'm a size 9M and they fit with a little room to spare. I only wear thin tights with these, so that may be why they feel roomy. These are comfy right out of the box. I love this. They have the right amount of style and the heel height is very stylish. Only have worn these with leggings so far, but these will work with jeans and skirts too. They do not feel narrow at all, very true to size.

I thought they were cute but the top edge of the sole (where stitching might be on other boots) was molded plastic "teeth"--that's the only way I can think of to describe it. If you look closely in the pictures you can see what I mean. I didn't like the look of the teeth and felt the design made the boots look cheaper than they were. I personally would have preferred stitching.

These are cuter in the picture than in person they are a bit more bulky in the toe area like almost rounded orthopedic looking not terribly but more than I would like , I own some Kork-Ease with a higher heel and they are more comfortable and stylish than these, FYI I only wore these for a few minutes around my house so they may get more comfy the more you wear them. I was excited to try Gentle Souls for now I will stick to Kork-Ease and just wait for the Castaneda to come in my size in the black color.

These shoes run a tad bit big so I ended up with a 6.5 although I always wear a 7. These are very cool Moto booties and are comfortable to boot!

Lovely item! I found them to be true to size. I had originally ordered one size up and ended up returning them for my regular size.

They fit perfectly. I usually wear a size 10 M, and that's what I ordered and they fit exactly as the should. I love them. They're comfortable, cute and well-made. Perfect!

I bought these and when my mother in law saw them she put them on and lived them. They are hers now:) they look very well made and the cushioning is amazing. Looks a little more casual so better with jeans. Not for a suit. Great boot.

The fit and size is perfect. They are comfortable out of the box. I love this boot.

OMG, these boots are amazing! I ordered my usual “boot” size and they fit perfectly. I prefer wearing a mid-weight sock with all my boots and these boots can be worn with my usual socks, or even a slightly lighter weight sock. If I were going to wear no socks or tights with these boots, I might consider going down a half size. These are very well made and have a buttery soft leather lining and very comfortable foot bed. They look great with skinny jeans and leggings; they have a substantial look without being clunky!

These boots were pretty cute, but they were way too narrow for my toes. I do have moderate bunions but I never need a wide width so I was surprised how tight they were. Other than that, they were pretty nice.

These shoes are cuter in the photos. They have a rather bulbous toe box that’s not attractive on. They’re also really heavy. I felt like I had clown shoes on!

Super unattractive! Shiny teeth on the sole made me not even consider trying them on. So cheap looking it totally ruined the boot appearance! Returned immediately! So disappointed!

I’m a size 8 med in all Merrell shoes and ordered an 8 med in this boot. Fit was good, but toe not as round and comfortable as I prefer. Also didn’t care for the grain of the leather...almost pebbled, way too casual. Other reviews praising the comfort of this boot are misleading. Padding is average, but way overrated. Padding in heel not enough for me. Heel strike was hard and miserable with each step, as the heel sole is a nonflexible material with no shock absorption. I have nerve entrapment in my neck and it was irritated within 10 seconds of test walking at home. I don’t agree that this is the most comfortable boot ever. My Merrell, BOC, and Timberland boots are much more comfortable and stylish. I bought SofComfort memory foam inserts for $7 which has better cushioning than the hyped up flax seed footing in this boot. Thanks to Zappos great return option, these are going back.

Perfect fit. I’m a true 7.5 with high arch, ordered 7.5 and it fits perfectly. Rise and shaft are perfect with ankle jeans.

Gentle Souls are incredible. Comfortable right out of the box. Love them!!

Very comfortable from the first wearing, so comfortable that immediately after receiving them I traveled for a week with only this boot and a heel.

These boots are awesome! Very comfortable from the moment I tried them on. They don’t rub my foot wrong and they fit perfectly around my ankle. They are also very stylish with a more rugged leather and the buckles!

The Moto style boot is perfect! Great fit! goes well with tights/skirt, jeans/sweater, AND a jean dress! Very pleased with my purchase.

These are some of the most comfortable boots I've ever owned, so comfortable I bought a second pair to have when these become too worn. They're stylish and they dress up and down beautifully.
