I really wanted to like these shoes. My brother-in-law swears by them, so I bought a pair. I could immediately tell I either bought a size too big or they just weren't going to work with the shape of my foot. I could feel rubbing on my right heel right after I put them on and knew if I wore them for an entire day, I'd get a blister. I went to a local outlet and returned them for a size smaller, but the problem persisted. I was told they'd break in, but after wearing for a day, lo and behold, blister on my right heel. The shoes are great, but just beware of that. I returned the second and bought a different pair that I'm extremely pleased with.

They looked great, but I couldn't get my feet into then. The instep is too shallow for my foot. I usually have this problem with loafers but not typically with an Oxford or a chukka. In this case, they were no good for me. Too bad

I like this shoe, but what I thought would be a problem, definitely is a problem. Virtually anything leaves a scratch on this type of outer shell. The store employee showed me a polish that helps to remove a scratch so I bought both. The polish helps, but it quickly dries, and the scratch is still there. It appears there's nothing that can be done. Now, when I wear these shoes, I'm constantly making sure that nothing ever touches the shoe. This is almost impossible as your feet are constantly touching an assortment of things (sitting at a bar, while driving, under a desk, as you get in/out of a car, life). Let me know when you make the same shoe with a much more durable outer shell.

For starters, the Copeland Chukka has the feel of a premium boot. The materials, fit, and finish feels nice. I've only worn the Copeland's twice now. I wore them to dinner the night purchased, they felt and looked great. Then I wore them the next day on a shopping trip. By the end of the day I could barely walk and had blisters on both heels. Didn't think I would have an issue with these being new, but unfortunately I was wrong. So I haven't worn them since while my heels are healing.

I was Leary in what size to get since a lot of comments said it runs too small, however I still got my normal size. I wear a 10.5 in Nike , ASICS and my other pair of more dressy Johnston and Murphy so i was disappointed when I bought these and only brought these on a cruise and they are too big because now I'm stuck with them. They also are a slightly different when it comes to putting them on your feet because of the design not an issue just worth noting if it's not a style you are used to.

Like the style, the fit is a bit narrow for my foot however. If I had tried them on prior to purchase, I would not have made the purchase.

Good looking shoe, but really tight across the forefoot. JM shoes have always been good and consistent fits for me and ordered my usual size--just not working this time. Hoping it loosens up after wearing, but hasn't happened yet.

The grey color in photo is darker than what I received. The light color with what appears to be a burnished suede toe doesn't look correct?

I loved the look of these and was excited to give them a whirl. As soon as I slipped them on however, I could tell that the seam along the back of the foot was going to give me a blister. Stitching along the narrow part of the shaft seems like a poor design.

I ordered a couple pairs of chukkas to try and these were the winner. Putting them on felt like stepping into a comfy cloud. They are apparently padded with sheepskin? I’ve only had them for 24 hrs, but they work for walking, cloud walking.

The styling is REALLY nice. Boots look sharp right out of the box. When I tried them on, they felt very tight across the top of my toes and I could see my knuckles bulging across top of boot. This was very uncomfortable, and perhaps they might have stretched out and got broken in over time? Other aspect of boot I did not care for was how easy surface of leather could get marked up, even just with light swipe of a finger nail. I could easily buff the marks out, but not sure how over time they would look? I ended up sending them back, and of course that was super easy due to Zappo's awesome customer service.

The fit was great, looked great, but it felt as if a metal rod ran across the sole where the insole support should be. Made the shoe very uncomfortable to walk in.

I purchased these Chukkas from Men's Dillards for $125.00 on sale. The quality is top notch and I love the sheep skin. The first couple months I wore these I loved them. However, after the memory foam broke down (6-month time frame for me) wearing these boots feels like walking directly on the concrete. So, if you’re looking for great looking boots for occasional wear these perfect for the price. But if you want an everyday boot to last you more than 6 months, I recommend checking out the Timberlands.

They are good for work and fit our current look of business casual with jeans. Wish they were a bit lighter.

The back of the heel is quite abrasive and in order for this shoe to be wearable I need to use several band-aids on my heel and thick socks. Hopefully the inside layer of leather softens up over time, but in the meantime it's pretty uncomfortable. On the plus side, the sole is terrific and insole very comfortable!

I'm hopeful this pair is big improvement to my last pair which were "EXTREMELY" disappointing.....all the cons listed above applied to my last pair. I do note that J&M seems to have changed/improved the the new pair vs my last pair. This was clearly noted as my new pair were made in India vs my last pair that I was "EXTREMELY" disappointed with were made in China. One again and as a long time J&M customer I was "EXTREMELY" disappointed with my previous pair which I simply had to trash after a relatively short period of ownership/ware!!!!!!

These are really comfortable on your feet, but I just couldn't get them to fit my foot. Unlike most other boots in this style, these have extra padding on the inside of the upper along the entire toe box. It's super comfy, but threw off the balance of the boot. I normally wear a 10, and that did fit in the toe, but my heel slipped. I ordered a 9 1/2 to test. It was too tight in the toe but my heel didn't slip...probably because my foot was jammed in there. Unfortunately these boots just don't work for me. I wear a 10 in Vans and New Balances, 11 in Nikes.

I really wanted to like these boots but, unfortunately, I have to return them. I have other pairs of J&M boots, and shoes, and have always found that size 11M fit perfectly. But not these boots. As other reviewers have noted, they seem to run narrow through their entire length (and they're not available to try in "W"). I ordered a similar style of Wolverines in 11M and they fit fine. It's bad enough that most brands have offshored their manufacturing, but there's no excuse for poor QA.
I'd also recommend:
Wolverine, Frye

The Copeland Chukka is a very stylish shoe and very comfortable overall. I recommend ordering a size larger than what you normally wear; they run narrow in the toe box and felt a little small. I'm normally a 16 in every other brand and when I put them on they weren't the right size. Its too bad they don't come in a 17 otherwise I would definitely order them again.

The shoes were meant for work but on wearing them I felt like someone had tied a weight to my feet. The shoes were extremely stylish and the finish was great... J&M needs to make shoes that do not get dirty so quickly
